  1. -> Link to GG's cheap-ass "booth" <- Like most of us, I was unable to deliver a demo at the beginning of SAGE, and probably won't be, until the last quarter of the week, if at all. But I am trying my hardest to have SOMETHING to show... Comments (other than shading under the grass, which I already know I need ), plz.
  2. Good advice, guys. Now, how about some ideas for this game. Like what kind of level should the first zone be, what could it have, etc.?
  3. Alright, time to start brainstorming on the new project I'm code naming "Sonic Headway". If we can't come up with a better name, this will most likely be the actual title of the game. Suggestions I'd like from you, are: * Game Title * Story * Playable Characters * Stages * Emerald Stages * Bosses Before we get started, I just want to lay down the restrictions. We need to make this game pretty simple and small. This way it actually stands a chance of getting finished. * No more than four playable characters. Though, I would really prefer it to be just Sonic. Perhaps Tails and Knuckles too, if we must. * A pretty straight forward story. I don't want loads of cutscenes to do, just one or two between stages. * Seven level limit. We're going to do the traditional emerald bonus stage, for each level. Since there's seven emeralds, we need only seven stages. And maybe a final level, that leads to the final boss. Other than that, you're free to suggest whatever.
  4. None taken. I would have released my work, open source, if I had indeed decided to not use it, anymore. It would be wrong of me to not give back to the community that helped get me where I am, today.
  5. ... :/ Yes, I will be using the same engine. I just might use all the same gimmicks; I might not. I still have no clue what I'll be making, yet. I may just open a new topic here, to allow suggestions to be made for this new game, including name, story, level ideas, etc. Who knows what awesome game can be conjured up with the combined creativity of SFGHQ.

  8. Oh my... looks like SFGHQ still loves me, after all! =D I never truly left, to begin with. I just tend to lurk in the shadows now, and only appear when I think it's needed/I feel like it. Anyway, today was very mediocre, though it had its moments. I blame myself, because I didn't bother to make any plans, until the last minute...
  9. SA:R got a total engine revamp, and now lot's of spiffy new gimmicks are being added. EDIT: Just realized Khorney's been posting stuff, on my behalf. So, you already knew about the revamp. =P
  10. This is somewhat off-topic, but does playing this game make us really "nerdy" and "uncool"? I tried referring this game to a friend. His reply was "Oh, God. How am I supposed to get girls if I play this?". I found it interesting that this was coming from a guy who owns a Sonic website.
  11. I dunno about that. I just noticed the max size for our guild is... 10. =/ Might have to make an "SFGHQb" in the future.
  12. For what it's worth, I say delay SAGE, if you think it might be necessary. It'll give the lazy people, like myself, a chance to hurry up and make their games presentable.
  13. I don't mind the environment, but I can't stand how the turtles look. I think they're a little too skinny, and the way they jump around makes them seem frog-like. The animation is alright. The part where Mikey falls into the trash can was done pretty well. Ralph, and Donny move just like they would in the old TMNT movies.
  14. I love everything about the first level! And other than what's been mentioned, the game's looking great! Good job, Blue Frenzy!
  15. Not my problem, but a friend's. I don't use MMF, so I have no clue... I know it's not very specific, but that's all he gave me.
  16. Wow, this game is truly awesome! Beautiful sprites, and a well-crafted engine. You guys are something else! Demo please. That's not GM's fault. My poor memory management skills are actually to blame. But I've fixed that.
  17. Actually, having the glow, around Sonic, flash looks horrible. Trust me, I tried it. :/ Although the glow around him stays, the one over him flashes. Looks much better! But I'll tinker with it a bit, and see if I can get a better effect.
  18. Added Super Sonic to the action stages. Like it was meant to be, in the original Sonic Adventure. Still tweaking the stage graphics, but I should be done with them soon. Then I can move on to Windy Valley, finally!
  19. Looks nice for a quick little game. Since it's already the 16th, I'm guessing it'll be done by the 23rd, right?

  21. I found this little example a while back. The original site it was on no longer exists, and I don't think the author put their name in it. But it is a good example. example_rain.zip EDIT: It seems that this was originally made for GM5. Just change the "image_single = random(3);" to image_index = random(3); image_speed = 0;[/CODE] in the "Create" event for the rain object.
