  1. Zapper, im glad you like it. DW, actually, there is a notification system, but not implemented on this level. Actually, it was made for make the level lager, but probably, that is not an option right now. Streak Thunderstorm, of course, this game is made for people who likes old school design, a guy who likes more sng style wont probably enjoy a game that is not rushing and holding right while special effects pass through the screen. And about special stages, i said it, it is the first one, so its the easier and simplier one. Later stages are filled with objects and have unique areas.

  4. Thanks for the comments, i will try to improve this level. Any ideas for waterfall platforms? Actually, the level doesnt have that many loops but at the very first, just a few more over the level. But people, dont worry, that is just in my very first levels like siz and lez, the ones of the very first demo with 360. Serephim, what do you mean with layer change? LarkSS, yeah, level is a bit repetitive since it doesnt have anything special but those rocks and the waterfall section. And about sav box, it was at first a blink to the game gear games, but at this point, i think its a bit late for changing, when 10 out 15 zones are completely finished and 3 are mostly done.

Well for breaking the ice, nothing is better than a few rockets, so i leave here a vid of Athlon empire zone BOTH ACTS. Also shows 4th special stage. I personally think that it looks better, but level design is not my strong, so i am not sure about it.
  6. I do really thing he does deserve to be named professional. Earning money for doing some job doesnt convert you in a professional. How you do things does, even if it is furry stuff.

  9. That's what i meant. When you make a level, you are thinking on doing it with badniks, spikes, rings and else, and that will make the level look like the things are just in a random place. This is just a suggestion.You have no room for improve or for make new things like gimmicks or else. Instead, if you build your level while adding objects, you can calculate where the spring leads you, you can add new objects and build the level oriented to that objects, and you can correct mistakes in time. You will also leave speed areas to where you want to add speed areas, you can have the control over every small part of the level and you will avoid to have empty spaces. Level is going to be made for specific challenges instead of challenges be made to be an obstacle in your way. I have a symilar problem for enemies, i usually use them to fill empty spaces, and that result in a very random and annoying part. It is better to have an enemy made into an area for make the player do something, even though myself forget about this many times XD. So, it is more like to build a challenge part, that involves ground and objects, tan just fill a path with random objects. It is easier to adapt ground to the different challenges to add than create a challenge based on a premade ground that is limiting you to that shape. Today i am in a talking mood XD
  10. Looks simple, but interesting. Do you think it is a good idea to leave the level empty? Having objects helps so much while designing.

  13. So, now, if you don't use sonic worlds, then, it sucks? Let him use whatever he wants. Even if he wants to make a game with the built in plaftmor movement. While it is a fun game, engine doesnt matter, you are not paying for this.
  14. well, retrieve the value of TimeToGo_Counter to the visible counter just the event before you make the if. It is very possible that there is another event that is making your counter to reset.
  15. I'm glad you are here to be able to tell us this. That is quite dangerous. I never liked cars, not because of how dangerous is to drive, but how dangerous is some people who drives in the same road as you. I hope you are completely ok ^^.

  17. Well, I will make you an advice, do not make global objects. Those water bumps and shooting machines should be local objects. If you have global objects, you will finally decide to use them when you are out of ideas, and it will become repetitive. Instead, if you make local objects for each level, you will be forced to play with what you have, increasing the chances of finding a nice and challenging convination, and also forcing you to create new interactive objects, giving the game more variety. Just a suggestion. Else, it looks like a stable engine, although I didn't watch it in full action.

  19. actually i dont think there are simplier objects. But what dami do is exactly what you do, but replacing the "simplier object" idea by an array with the position values. I meant, do it XD
  20. Whoa, you gave me a great idea! Why should i do anything? I want a programmer, level designer, spriter, modeler, composer and a sexy naked woman to help me making my gaem. If you get me one i will lend you later the spriter. The woman is just for me, i won't lend her.
  21. I challenge you to implement that on the rainy level in sfa to reduce the slowdown, if works, i'll give you sex XD.
