  5. that generally means there are no seeds ie: the torrent is dead. find another one from a different site. also, make sure the right ports are open, than can speed things up

  7. and i'll call those more 'frustratingly annoying' as opposed to hard. there were some pretty awful ones on the psp ones related to dire control issues, i'm just thankful they've put in a new engine. although, from the videos, it looks kinda the same with a bit of grease and polish(both kinds) applied. will probably pick this up nonetheless, despite yet having to complete any GTA game (owning 2, VC, PSP, and PSP VC). i think this pretty adequately articulates my issues with the game: http://www.penny-arcade.com/2008/4/28/

  9. i'm gonna have to go with advance, i just like the bold crisp look to it, but it's really down to personal preference, so you probably shouldn't be asking other people what to use, as it's you who will have to make the assets to go with it, and the advance stuff you were making before was looking pretty beast (your floor tiles, for example)

  11. nailed within 2 posts? that's got to be a record. liking the super sonic thing though, did i correctly notice that it runs off his 'power bar' as opposed to rings, and that you just refilled that with a debug button or whatever? good that you're trying to mix it up, and forces you to make use of super sonics invincibility to hunt down enemies to fuel it. although, one of the quirks of the original is that you were left vulnerable at the end of your transformation, so if you could find a way of doing that, that would be cool. but i agree with the other chaps insomuch that super sonic needs sonic tangible advantages, and if we can't notice it from the video, it's probably not enough... and a small nit-pick concerning the sprites, you may want to recolour the outline of the flip move after you attack an enemy to be more in line with the sonic battle sprites you are using there, since i found that stuck out a bit great work as always, keep it up!

  13. i'd have to say either the first one or the last one. the middle one looks a bit washed out. the 1st one blends in alot better though, so that would be my first choice

  15. Steven - playing it now, 1 issue, i went into the wall just by falling into it, and was pushed upwards and out of the screen, forcing me to restart. i think this is todo with the small yellow ledges in the first room, i was going up through one of those when it happened
  16. when i say tough, i mean the amount of hits it takes to kill each one. although, as you say, it's probably difficult to tell with a bajjillion enemies simultaneously and repeatedly removing your anal virginity by force
  17. steven, please don't ever host on rapidshare, as i was completely foiled by their ridiculous 'security code' (ie BUY ME PREMIUM) thing several times and gave up trying to download your game steak-man, that looks awsome, but i assume enemies wont be that tough in the final? since that would be incredibly annoying
  18. still, even at medium, Dragon, crysis looks as good as those other games, as has the potential to look even better in the future as we get faster machines, so i would hardly criticize it in that department.
  19. not meaning to spam, but i find it hilarious that DW is trying to critically analyse the failings of a whack-a-mole game
  20. dont forget, the wii is a gamecube too, you may want to try metroid prime 1+2 first
  21. also battlefield bad company has destructible scenery, so you may want to have a look at that
  22. the way it controls makes it different, its alot less twitch/skill based than most fps, focussing more on exploration/puzzles etc... more an action adventure from FPS perspective (from what i've played of them anyway)
