  1. My grandpa doesn't go for the mushy shit.
  2. I probably wouldn't get it until the next really Mario game comes out. Or Zelda. Although, I really wish I could go back to playing Zelda with a normal controller. I have not been able to get into Skyward Sword for that reason. (Twilight Princess was great, but I had it for the GCN).
  3. Only you're a master salesman, you need a job were you don't work on commission. Remember, unless you have a specialized degree and/or really useful experience, you're going to have to start with a shitty entry job. If you're not skilled (i.e. no degree or experience), I would recommend looking for warehouse work. They always need people, and wages are fairly good for what you do. You can probably find $10 - 14.00 / hour depending on where you live.
  4. Well, I'm not God, but thanks for thinking highly of me. Uh...just who are you again? Aren't you that guy who always gets his panties in a bunch because no one starts you a birthday thread?
  5. TailsSena started a rant thread about how he had learned everything about the English language by 8th grade and high school language arts classes were 8th grade English classes ad nauseam. However, in his rant on how he has perfected his mastery of the English language three years ago, and high school was wasting his time with silly bullshit, he failed to even come close to being correct. You don't see the irony there? I know it's just an internet forum--this shit is serious business--but this is a thread about English language and grammar classes!
  6. I'm pretty sure in my college career I've had to read through essays and peer-reviewed studies and write a "report" based on them. Then in the Army, I've read through field manuals and regulations, and had to write memorandums to tell people they absolutely can't do something they "know" they can. True, it may not have been a "book report," but it's the same basic skill: extracting written information, analyzing it, and arguing a thesis. It sounds like you learned that book reports are "summaries" in middle school and high school. Trust me, learning to read texts, interpret data, and draw conclusions (all things you do with a book report) will serve you in the adult world. Also, your quote should read, "Even then, all I learned was what a clause was[omit this comma] and how to write a book report [seriously, we're not speaking German. You do not need to capitalize every noun you come across], which are two skills you'll almost never need to employ ever [superfluous?] again. [citation needed]"
  7. There was that one time I was playing Sonic 2 and I ran so fast on that Oil level that I out-ran the camera and became trapped in the wall. wat is it wit sonic games bearing the # 2 n e way?!?!?1/?!?11/
  8. It was probably a few months ago. I was really tired, so those extra shots of espresso really helped. But I haven't drank a whole lot of coffee out since then, mostly whatever is brewing at work.
  9. I'd have to keep my phone plugged into my Mac for like 4 days to get the upgrade. Besides, I've heard a couple people have had problems with it. I'll waiting until they get the bugs out.
  10. I work for a Japanese logistics company. We have a number of factories we support around here, and they send a lot of stuff (auto parts mostly) to Japan. Although, I have sent a bunch of used clothes to a warehouse in Bangkok before. Apparently, Asia really likes used American clothing. I'm thinking of giving up my day job and just going around to thrift stores buying used clothes.
  11. Serephim, you're just growing up, bro. As you get older, your brain slowly starts to reject what is new. Same thing happens to people and their tastes on music. Call it rose-colored glasses or whatever. Happens to the best of us.
  12. This. Games designed for touch screens work best obviously. Tiny Wings and Jetpack Joyride (I think both are free, but Tiny Wings might be a dollar or two) work by pressing anywhere on the screen: your bird "dives" in Tiny Wings, or Barry uses his jetpack. Draw Something obviously works by using your finger as a pencil. Cut the Rope and Fruit Ninja uses finger swipes. Sky Burger uses tilt controls. Fun and simple.
  13. Platformers are pretty bad on touchscreens, but that said, most of the time they take an NES approach to gaming, instead of Atari. They have a left and right arrow, then two action buttons (normally jump and fire). If they only had one button, the game would be much easier to play. The iPhone screen is too small to comfortably use two action buttons.
  14. Yeah! You know what would be cool? ...A thin dog character that hunts cats with a shotgun...sorta like a foil to that fat cat that fishes.
  15. Oh yes, I finally got Xcode to compile my project! And it actually works in the real world... It isn't much...the slider sets the number between 0 and 50, and the button adds 1 to the number.
  16. Yeah, definitely learn some AJAX....that shit is pretty dope.
  17. HTML is pretty easy to learn...but CSS is where the money is. I think you should concentrate on CSS. And possibly MySQL (or another database language) and PHP, because while it might be fun to make awesome looking websites in the short term, getting experience with data management will probably help in the long term.
  18. Ah, 4/20. Michael Phelps' favorite holiday.
  19. Man, you're pretty talented. Nice work. However, I personally think that the use of such a standard digital font in your comic strip sort of detracts from the comic. I think if you took the time to sketch the font in, it would be worth the extra effort. But, that's just, like, my opinion, man. lol
  20. I heard there were trying to do that like 3 or 4 years ago. Apparently with Keanu Reeves as Spike.
  21. Some people see a problem and don't think through their solution. Instead of an intelligent, coordinated plan designed at fixing the problem, they come up with a knee-jerk reaction that targets the most visible part. We COULD try to help Africans coordinate replacing their corrupt governments that allow Kony and the Lord's Resistance Army to prosper with no resistance, OR we could just try to get rid of Kony, because if you cut of the head of a Hydra, it dies. Right?
  22. Has anyone seen "Act of Valor" yet? Yes, I know, it's basically a commercial for the U.S. Navy, but I heard it's pretty good. Now that I'm back in civilization, I can actually go see a movie ...at the movie theater!! hooray
