  1. It might but you should do what you feel comfortable doing. Just remember, the Egg-Robo fights were played out a bit differently with Marble Garden's being a totally different boss all together. You should have Fang's version be like the Egg-Robo's where they were slightly more difficult than the others.
  2. I had a similar idea once with remaking Sonic 2 levels similar to what they did with Kanto in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal Versions and the main thing was you would find pieces of what was Wing Fortress lying around.
  3. @LH: You should do something different to the fountain in the Bad Future like make it bigger but falling apart and broke pieces all over. Maybe have rotting plants coming out of a cracked up tower. In a bad future, I don't think a fountain would pour out water. The plant life you have looks like a jumbled and glitchy mess. Maybe up it up a bit. Smashing!
  4. What was so bad about the physics? I thought they were very neat for the game. It makes it different. Who cares that he can't get as much speed as Sonic 3 did. It is what it is. Also, level design. Did it ever occur to anyone that it's possible they made the level designs look just like some from the past because Episode 1 may have been a test to us? Meaning just showing us what the next game was going to be like. That's what I think Episode 1 is supposed to be.
  5. I have to agree. The title of the game in the right corner makes the shot look even more interesting. @Cstyler: I'm wondering though, are those chunks of moon are supposed to be in the atmosphere or still in space?

  7. That level design actually inspired me for a desert stage of types, minus that bull head in the ground which seems to break the level design in my opinion. One thing that would bother me is how ridiculous and cheap the parallax scroll would look in the flat land portion of the background.
  8. These pictures remind me of those things with the steel suits in Conker's Bad Fur Day. I think it's the head portion.
  9. You know, Blazefire has a point about the color thing. For someone like me who has trouble viewing certain colors it is hard for me to see what Sotsug is posting. OK, it's dropped now. Is Espio going to be the only "rare" character playable or are you going to have a few more? Either way, he looks good. Still, it is nice to see some fresh faces in an Advancey like game, especially if they're well designed like Espio.
  10. I thought that Cstyler's screenshot looked familiar but I had this feeling for a second that it was Taz Escape from Mars.
  11. Now that I looked harder I noticed a straight edge wave in the deep portions of the tile. That's classy.
  12. You should try to make the further back cliffs a bit bigger and throw them in the closer background. That would be neat considering it would match perfectly.
  13. Hm. Well, it looks cool but the cliffs? in the background don't match the ones in the far back at all. In fact, the ones in the front look like they should go in the back due to the large amount of dark areas of them.

  15. That looks really impressive to me. I like the background.. Looks like an edit of those Chaotix bushes. I got bored and this is the end result of concept for a sorta custom look. The quills were designed to match that of Sonic 3's as well as fusing the feet to give it a Sonic 3 feel. The hands were made to fit the look as well. I shall re-color this soon if I really feel or I should just leave it as is. I am not an artist or a genius at this thing so if there's something about this that can be done better let me know but not by doing it yourself. Other than that I feel this is fine the way it is.
  16. I like the pillars in the background. But, it does kind of look like a reflection in a window of some sort.
  17. It's better to make a game based on your own story, honestly. If you can't think of one, play some of your favorite games and make a story based on the best. That's what I would do. Inspiration is very easy to obtain when playing other games especially for a story.
  18. If you were to achieve the modern look of Amy Rose, I'd delete that top quill. Otherwise, it doesn't really resemble the classic look all that much.
  19. Not actually in game yet, we have yet to get around to testing a new collision detection system. Once again, teasing at the level map (which is currently 11392x1280px). Sick looking palm tree.
  20. I have one but I don't visit that often. I was approved about 3 days after I joined and I only had like 15 posts. It's a great place. The main admin, Tweaker, is a bit of a pain in the dick and quite a hard ass but he's cool when he's not having a bitch fit.
  21. Looks really neat, brah. I noticed the little Alex Kidd's in the background. Very nice.
  22. I'm not sure if pictures is enough to make a thread. I might be wrong. That being said, I'm interested in this. The story sounds excellent and the main character concept reminds me of Tempo very much, which is why I think I'm extremely interested in this.
  23. More like heavenly. I haven't played a Mario fan game since Mario Forever.
  24. As far as I know, like Retro Sonic Nexus, it's just on hold. They have a new Chemical Plant concept video that looks astounding at one point. I remember reading about this game with an interview with Pelikan? in some gaming magazine stating that the game would be more original. They apparently also had hopes of re-doing the Master Systems Phantasy Star. If I find the magazine I will scan the pages with the interview.
