  1. I've had a go at trying to do that, but it just looks a bit "odd" looking. So I guess it's either going to be all or none, unless someone has a better talent at sprite editing than me. =P

  4. Very nice concept! I was planning to do this for a Rom Hack once. =P I'm guessing that if you jump into one of the Zone Rings that you have to play all acts of that level, or can you choose which act would you like to go back to?
  5. Well how about getting rid of the banner all together? Maybe aim for something new, so you can keep the logo as it is? Maybe have something similar to my Signature, with the Logo and Sonic Standing next to it? But bigger than my signature, of course.
  6. The background is nice and all, but I think that the logo itself is a bit too "cluttered" looking. How about Centering the text? It might be a good idea to resize the text a bit too since I think it'll look better if it was smaller than the Banner it is sitting on.

  8. Like Zenor said, the only thing that I noticed that could do with a bit of a change is how bright the Polar Field background is. It's way too bright so it's hard to see the different bits of the background such as the Mountain against the sky, you could also change the colour of one of the Diamonds since it blends in with the background colour. Other than that, every screenshot looks very busy, cool!

  10. Well have you actually tried looking around? There is some Metal Knuckles sprites at The Mystical Forest Zone. Not too sure where to look for a Fan Character though since they're looked down upon.

  12. Like I said on Sonic Retro, I don't think this guy has taken into consideration that AOSTH is aimed for much younger viewers than the ones for SATAM. He also accidentally featured the hack Sonic 2: Revamped thinking it was Sonic 2.
  13. Heh, very nice concept. Although, I'm confused, is this game called True Chaotix or Pure Chaotix? Anyway, I found a little bug, just climb up the first wall to your left, not too sure what's happening there. =P
  14. Sorry for the double post, but update time! Just to bulk out the screen I made a quick background, sure it's not the greatest, but hey it's generic and just gets rid of a bit of empty space on the screen, keep in mind that Sonic is standing on a fairly low stretch of land too, so the layout would also fill more of the screen up! As always, feedback is welcome!

I don't think so, it's just a standard .exe. :S Also, Chaos Rush, I've found a few odd bugs, can't repeat them so I guess they;re minor, the first one I encountered was Sonic doing a "Moonwalk", with his left walking pose but actually moving to the right. It seemed to have triggered when I skidded but then wanted to turn back the other way to walk again. I couldn't get him out of doing this until he hit a wall so we returned back to his standing pose. The next one was when I grabbed a bubble shield, I could not more left or right, but could jump. Do you know about these bugs?
  16. Exactly, you'll never be able to find a engine JUST right for what you need, you will still need to edit it either way. You're best bet is to get similar engines to the gameplay you had in mind and start toying with the objects, since you're a newcomer to Game Maker.
  17. Not too bad at all! The only thing really to nit pick at really is that some of the instruments conflict way too much a few times, so it kinda' has a sloppy tone to it. Overall it's pretty cool!
  18. I have an idea for how the game plays, it'll fit quite well with the PSP screen... Think Sonic 1 but REALLY Fast. While in game, the screen width shouldn't be too much of a problem and may come useful to the player since I will be keeping the screen size in mind, when designing the layouts. It's a shame that there isn't any talented lua programmers that would work on this game, nor any that can program in C, since I would want to switch from lua to C since the OSlib is just what we need to use, but I just don't have the programming knowledge to do all of it by myself. So yeah, programming is slowing us down dramatically, but me and my friend should get there in the end, just at a steady pace. =P

  21. Yeah, it's just a little test level, plus that's only the first layer of the background, there will be the usual "Sky and Mountains" background behind the first layer. About the space issue, let me just grab an old mock-up: How about that? Plus remember that there will be a background behind that too.
  22. God those Videos brought back the 90's Nostalgia, it's a shame it kinda' ended at Sonic Adventure, they should of did a section on the "Downfall of Sonic" it would of been pretty cool thing to see, plus it's a big part in Sonic's History though.
