  1. It's no big deal.I just find it funny how much of a srs bussiness Infinity's post made it look like. "If you look closely at the 3 second mark of the trailer.." "Don't say I didn't warn you!" It's the same speculation level you'd see in an official game thread,so it's kinda funny to me. Speaking of Lake as if he's some kind of unreacheable force is just silly though,otherwise,Serephim's explanation also works :V
  2. I didn't read through all the discussion,but I find it hilarious how Infinity is speculating so hard over a fangame. "You have been warned." lol It's also funny how some of you speak of Lake as if he wasn't here either. This kind of speculation actually made me want to play a Sonic game now..heh. @DaHog: Both BTS and BTS'12 use different sprites than ATS.
  3. You're overreacting. I just gave you a few tips on what to improve,and corrected your wrong idea of a 32bit sprite. That's all I did. The second part of your post aimed at me is completely irrelevant to everything I said,so chill out.Take my crit or don't,it's your choice,just don't act like I bashed your work,the way you're reacting to critscism is pretty immature. If you wanted a more visual example,why not ask?
  4. 31 colors isn't "decent" for a sprite like this,matterfact,it's a LOT. About your "32-bit" reasoning,look at the player sprites from..say SOTN or MMX 4-6,you'll see that they don't even exceed 15 colors. Not only you're using too many colors,but the majority of them are severely lacking in contrast,and overall "refinement" for lack of a better term. She's also overdetailed,and her washed out colors contrast too much from the more simplistic,cartoony like shading of the dog and the bunny's body (those also lack contrast).

  7. @Lake: Looking great,and it's cool that you're using Sonic like animals as NPCs too,I always wanted to do that on a fangame. His head seems a bit undershaded though,which reminds me,feel free to ask me anything sprite related if you need to.
  8. Sonic Prequel/Prelude Adventure? Prolly not that wording,but I bet it's something with that kind of meaning. Also,I just want to ask you one last thing,it might be annoying to ask you this,but I take it it shouldn't be a problem to change,but if it is,just ignore this. It's just that on the credits zone,I'm listed as "Shimbs",while I go by "Shinbs" with an "n" lol Nothing major,but I'd appreciate if you make a little fix there,man.
  9. The new design looks nice,much more original and less Sonic like. Her hips and crotch seem just a little..exagerated on that art though.
  10. You're saying that as if it was MY personal bias.. Strife have mentioned pages ago that Lilac looking like a hedgehog may hurt the game's originality and credability,and that point is constantly brought up back to the table,even in this very page by Strife himself. I like the design,I think it's GREAT as is,but I understand why he worries about it,and I agree with him,so I gave a suggestion,not an order. Y'know,Cream the Rabbit looks less like Sonic than Lilac does,but she's instantly recognized as a Sonic character,even by non-gamers. Show Lilac to a non-gamer,and he'll say it's a Sonic character,show her to a gamer and he'll say she's a Sonic FANcharacter.
  11. It's not a drastic change guys,it's much more subtle than removing the spikes. Here's what I mean,it still keeps the feel of the character,gets away from the Sonic-y face,requires minimum editing,and it's much better than removing the spikes,which takes away the character's spirit IMO. And even the current artwork would only need it's face pretty much recolored a bit to match the change. And the majority of the cast wouldn't even need any edits (excepct the rival guy),isn't the game all about intergalactic travel anyway? I don't see why the Snake guy for example,needs to look human as Sparks implied.
  12. No I suggested changing her face and keeping everything else,because Strife himself have been struggling with how to make her look less like Sonic for quite some time now. And she looks like a Sonic because she IS a Sonic fancharacter originally design by a DA artist to be be exactly that afaik,a Sonic fancharacter. I like her design too,but it's Strife that wants to make it less Sonic like,I don't post much but I do watch this thread,and he already tried to redesign her many times,including changing/removing the spikes,my suggestion is to keep them,and just change the face is all.
  13. They look great with the colored,non black outline. And if you're still struggling with making her less Sonic,I suggest you drop the furry part and just make her a human,cat girl thing. All you'd need to do is edited her face to be more human like,change her legs to skin tone,and everything else would be unSonic -fied,her "quills" already look like hair anyway,just my two cents. The whole approach you're taking with her is too Sonic like,in a similiar way to Klonoa,and Knlonoa is totally a Sonic and I don't care what people say.Look at other furry VG characters,like Crash and Sparkster for example,they're far from Sonic,but it's a completely different direction,not just "Sonic,but with a different face" as you tried to go in your last redesign attempt.
  14. Lake,I'm glad you like my sprites and I'm honored that you're using them on your badass fangame.I like the edits you and Jayden have done to it too. I have some minor work done on Tails and Eggman too,incase MJ didn't tell you,and you can just ask me if you want them. Anyway,I've always enjoyed watching videos and the progress on your projects,even if I never actually got to play the original,I'm still pretty hyped for this game.
  15. Thanks. This actually an independet sheet made by me though,not the main ModGen Sonic by Deebs. Everyone can use it btw,as I actually like to see my work being used. And yeah,I did make Knuckles already(and pretty much everybody else from the Classic Era)but I don't really plan to sheet him anytime soon.
  16. A friend suggested that it might be useful for some people if I post this here. Here goes,every single frame from S1 and S2,aswell are some useful ones from CD and S3K are there.(Please tell me if I missed any from the first two games!) In other words,more than it needs to be completely playable. Critscism is welcome,if there's any.

  22. lawl I'm not angry And he didn't say he made them,so what?He also didn't say they were made by someone else. If I posted a screenshot with some cool tiles,and didn't say who made 'em,people would probally assume I made the tiles myself... And as far as I know,they ARE being used,as Pedro himself asked me to make those sprites for his game. And yeah,I'm really not upset or anything,just reminding him,because y'know,it's nice to be credited =P
