  1. Hey, I rarely post on this forum but wanted to give my kudos to Oddwarg for a weird and wonderful game! Just played it start to finish now (late to the game, I know) and thought it was great! Rarely have such a blast from fangames. Plenty of "OMG" and "That isn't about to happen...is it?" moments. Look forward to any future projects from you Oddwarg!
  2. I just wanna say thanks to the SAGE cast for the whole expo! Played some great games and hope to do so again next year!
  3. Loved the demo! Plays well and features a lot of interesting features! Graphics were awesome and I really enjoyed it. The only criticism I can think of is that theres no way of seeing what time your currently in. Only a small point though. Great work!
  4. Ah lol, just wanted to avoid the inevitably that it was just me sucking! Anyways, great game, definatly come back to it later.
  5. Loved it! Lots of original ideas and content, good physics and didn't come across any bugs at all. And the crab always manged to get the best of me
  6. Great game! Smooth and fun, I was seconds away from ctrl+alt+del when I was in Act 2, nice touch! Only problem I experienced, I couldn't seem to get the corkscrew to work? Small issue though.
  7. Hey thanks for the comment. Praise and critique, my personal fav! Lol yeah 2shared is rubbish, I tried using my normal ones like megaupload and rapidshare, but it just kept saying error :S I'll hold my hands up to the spriting, didn't spend much time in making the levels look good, just wanted...levels! Ranking can be varied, especially by route, if your not having much luckly on one end sign, chances are the route to another one has more oppertunity to get points. And lastly, Blind flake's start is you jump up over the gap with slopes either side, and then they're's platforms that go to the right, when you hit the spring at the end, go left and follow the loop-the-loop down. Depending no your abilities you can just go up and left over the gap. Thanks again, hope you enjoyed it.
  8. Hey everyone, hope your enjoying SAGE, I'm currently downloading and uploading dozens of files! Game description: Sonic: The Gizoid - Episode One is the first part in the one of a kind Sonic fan-game. Allowing you to customise your robot (the Gizoid), you can equip unlocked abilities, earn exp and change the colours of your robot to make this your Sonic experience. With unlockable characters, the ability to add your own characters, three end points for every stage, at least 5 acts per stage, 10 trial levels, 5 Boss' and deep customisation options this surely make 'S:tG - Ep1' a bit tempting, ey? Any comments, critique or problems you have please feel free to share. Enjoy! SAGE booth: http://antonhuckleberry.webs.com
  9. EDIT: Couldn't get it to work unfortunatly, just stopped at this point: No way! Haven't seen Jazz Jackrabbit for years! Downloading now
  10. Thanks for the feedback, got a new trailer if anyones interested!
  11. That background creation thing looks pretty interesting, I'll have a play with it and see what I get, thanks for that!
  12. Sonic: The Gizoid EDIT: Got a new trailer: I would rather release anouther demo, but with the way the game unlocks abiltiies, its hard to find a line between giving away too much, then having to unlock it all in the final game, or not give away enough, and thats just...kinda pointless! Hope the trailer makes up for it though. Hey everyone, after SAGE (which was pretty damn awesome) I've been hard at work on my game, taking on board what people have said and trying to make it better. I've created a new trailer to show where the game is now and you'll find a link below. And here are some screenshots: For people that don't know my game, 'Sonic: The Gizoid' is a Sonic fan-game with a difference. Playing as the Gizoid, you can unlock and choose a variety of skills and abilities from a host of characters from the Sonic universe. These skills will change the way you play through huge levels with multiple end points and unlockables along the way. You can sprint start-to-finish, fight everyone you can or go exploring to find unlockables! It's up to you how this adventure unfolds. Here is a link to the old SAGE demo if you haven't played it and would like to: http://antonhuckleberry.webs.com/sonicthegizoiddemo.htm
  13. This has been my first SAGE and I really enjoyed it so a big thankyou to Instant and KTZ. I've played some great games and talked to friendly people. Already looking forward to next SAGE!
  14. Great reviews, I'll admit to being drawn to the one on my own game (Sonic: The Gizoid) and found it to be well described with some fair and constructive points...and kind! Good work on all the reviews.
  15. I played this game last sage and thought it was good then, but this version really improved on it. It feels like a direct sequel to Sonic CD, and its improved on its predecessor! I would agree it can be difficult to prevent a time change when you don't want to but other than that, pure brilliance!
  16. Very cool game, just played it for the first time and I really enjoyed it. Level design was really good and it looks great. Other than the demo being short, not much bad I can say about this game!
  17. I really enjoyed this game myself, looks great and was fun to play. Did run into a few enemies without warning but thought the level design was good for a first level. As long as later levels have more challenges and platforming to them, I think this could be a really great game!
  18. Hey everyone, thanks very much for so all the interest in my game. I've been away for a couple days so I'll answer some points now: Looking at act transitions within levels, hopefully I'll find a way to keep control consistent or just make the transitions smoother (Hit a sign and use a screen fade or something like that) but as you thought Kain, this was to reduce lag, and I haven’t seen this sector based activation system, but it’s something I'll defiantly look into now, so thanks for that. About the info spheres, they're exclusive to the demo that I added quite quickly, annoying I know when using the jetpack ability, but not something that will affect the final game. Presentation needs work I'll agree. The large screen size, along with using a single painting as a background (as opposed to several parallax backgrounds like most sonic games,) make the game look quite bland. I chose a larger screen size because of a personal preference as I've played many fan games that can be quite frustrating as it's difficult to see what’s ahead, especially at high speeds. Making optional screen sizes and resolutions may be a cure for this that I will add into the game. The file size is rather excessive which is annoying I know, but I really want to put quality over efficiency with this game. Music and large image files will be used externally in the final game as I have done with my other game (Chao Life). I couldn't imagine why the game wouldn't run I'm sorry to say ClassicSonicRules, the long load time is probably just due to the file size, and I haven't personally tested the game on XP, but there isn't any reason I'm aware of why it wouldn't work on XP. As far as where I’m taking the game Sabin Stargem, the stage levels will follow a similar suit to what you’ve seen, but with increasing difficulty and different level aspects and trends. By that I mean in the demo levels, it is been mainly speed based with low difficulty, later levels focus more on platforming, quicker reaction times and more strategic use of your abilities. However stage levels aren’t the only levels in the game. Along with Boss’, there are ‘Trial levels’ that will be unlocked either by getting a certain ability or progressing through the story. These levels will either be mini-levels or challenges or require a certain ability to enter and the level will revolve around using the ability to get to the end. For example there is a race against a train, collecting raining rings to build up enough boost to vertically run up a large wall and using your drill stomp on one of three breakable platforms to answer questions displayed on a large sign, getting it wrong leads to death. There will be around eight playable characters in the final game (looking through your character abilities, it might not be too hard to figure out who they are!) In my trailer (See here: ) you can see some in action briefly, along with Super Sonic, which answers your other question Sabin Stargem, there are super forms in the game, although not all characters will have a super form. Chaos emeralds are obviously in the game too, but as far as how they relate to the storyline and how you get them, that’s a secret for now! I’ll just state that there’s not special stages...as you know them! The game will include a storyline which I hope will be intriguing and interesting to Sonic fans, with a healthy amount of highs, lows and surprises, but a bit more complex and mature than the official Sonic games. These will be presented with cut scenes either at the start or after completing a level/boss/trial.Phew, wrote a lot more than I thought! I hope that’s answered some questions, again thanks to everyone who's tried the game and especially you guys giving me feedback and constructive criticism, it's a huge help and motivation boost and I'm working hard to make this game the best I can possibly make it.
  19. Thanks for the comments and criticism. I'm a big fan of sonic remix's, so expect to see more in the final version. The marble garden one is called "Sonic Gargles with Garden Marbles", sure you'll be able to find it in google. Yeah this is an early version and have much more to do!
  20. Start as nothing, become anything... 'The Gizoid' is a Sonic fan-game with a difference. This new demo has the first two levels, and a selection of abilities to play around with. Enjoy! Screenshots, trailer and demo all available from the link below: http://antonhuckleberry.webs.com/sonicthegizoiddemo.htm
  21. Thanks for those points, to be honest I forgot to put a limit on jetpack :S but yes it will be limited. I will try and balence out other abilties as well, but there are meant to be some better than others, and you'll have to earn enough exp to use. But I will work on them thank you
  22. Thanks for the comments, the screen size problem is most likely because the game doesnt change the resolution of the computer its being played on, as its only a quarter of the screen on mine, but I will change that! (And the background and workshop ) for the future
