  1. A while ago, I started work on this 3D level in Sonic GDK. It was just for fun, and I started it because I was a little tired of Incursion at the time. I recently opened it up and worked on it a little more, and you can see the level itself below. It's the first level of a hypothetical "cartoony" Sonic game. I don't know when, or even if I finish it and release it, but I thought you might like to see it.

  2. If you miss, you fall down to the "lower" route. You can see an example of this at 1:20 in the video. However, that route is not finished, which explains why the ground is sparse close to the end of the video. There are some opportunities to come back to the top route if you explore.

  3. beginning of the frame: max_distance = distance_to_goal from the player at the beginning of the frame. You can either track this as just the difference between the x of the expected sign post location minus the x where the player starts at or you can use the gold old Pythagorean theory every frame set the x position of the target tracker to the far right of the tracker - far left of the tracker * (current_distance / max_distance)

  5. Way late into the topic, but I'll just throw in my two cents. Look forward to the game, couldn't care less for the TV show. The character designs seem fine. The bandaging and stuff seem like a response to the modern trend of over design. A shame, really, but I welcome a radical shift to the series. I'm not into hype so I don't have much more to say until I actually get it. Overall the game play will speak for itself for me.
