  1. It all depends with if I can find a publisher for the game. If I can, then I'll prolly be releasing a bit later, all finished as I'll have the funds to continue on. If not, then it's early release and the funds from that to help me finish it off. No worries sir! I'll be posting a demo in the next week or two, (the same one I demoed at i53) so all is good! Enjoy your wedding this weekend! It's at Coventry, it's called the Insomnia Expo. They have indie booths there so it's basically a free ticket to go and show off your games. It's pretty cool to be honest!
  2. Thanks peeps for the comments! Hehe yeah I get that a lot with my art work, I guess it's the style. I do often lurk around Newgrounds and make flash games so it's all kewwwlll. Prolly gunna ask Mr.Fulp if I could use one of his characters as a cameo/boss. Thankies! Hopefully I'll be able to carry on pumping out the amazing Cheers! I'm hoping for the art to sell the game (as well as the gameplay.) But like to draw in the crowd. *fingers crossed*. Thankies! I'm glad ye like it! Indeedy I am. I'm showing this off at an expo/gaming festival in England this weekend, so once I get some feedback from there I'll prolly release a re-vamped demo. It's going to be prolly around sometime in the first week in December. Just a little update, firstly I've just touched up some of the graphics, (mainly backgrounds). Added some more depth with it: Plus also, I've managed to get some prints of my poster art. People love free-bes at expos :3 I'll still keep peeps updating on progress but I might be silent for a week or two as I'm going to be extremely busy >.<! Glad peeps like, -Joel
  3. Haha, I didn't want to draw her with huge jugs though... The sprites have different sayings on them anyway... She's like a crazy fan girl zombie thing.
  4. GAME DEVLOG So I thought I'd just start a project page in here instead of posting in the "screenshots topic." It's not exactly a Sonic fan game as such, nor does it have much to do with Sonic. However saying that, it does share nods to the game, such as the "2 act structure", end signposts/capsules and dem title cards. Basically the game is about a robot trying to become human so he can date the love of his life, as you see, robot 'n' human relationships in this world is strictly no-no. After being captured for breaking the rules, you're sent to "Robot Prison" and left to rot. That is until you manage to escape thanks to some dimwit spilling coffee on the control panel. From here, you'll adventure through (most likely 8 Zones) to complete your quest of becoming human and being with your love. 8 Zones, which with 2 different styled acts/music. Multitude of power-ups, such as the "block", "giant buzzsaw" and the forever loved jetpack. Chock full of guns and guts. I mean, lots of guts. Loads of 'em. Hand-drawn cutscenes, comic style. Action-pumped soundtrack, which hopefully a megadrive/genesis remixes too. Extra modes like, time attack, endless arena and special stages. Pure Carnage. Picutres: Video: I'm hoping for it to be released on Steam next year (it's been Greenlit, so that's awesome ) I'm looking into maybe getting a publisher for the game as I need some funding to prolly finish this game. Worst comes to the worst I'll just make it an early release... Hope ye like, I'll prolly update 'ere often so keep a look out.
  5. Not really a screenshot although the art in it will be used in the title screen for the demo, so I guess it...sort of counts? Right? The picture is one of my posters that I take to gaming festivals :3
  6. Thanks guys! It's still in semi-early production so it's not overly-final yet. It's turning into quite Earthworm-Jim-esque. I honestly don't have any idea at the moment. I might be finding a publisher, so they'll prolly set the price. If not, it'll prolly be around $6.99/7.99. It really depends on length.
  7. Like I said before, really reminds me of Mushroom Hill Zone, I guess it's the palette/textures. Has a good Sonic Heroes vibe going for it, which I like. Modern Sonic looks too serious. Anyway yeah it looks nice Maybe a bit more flourish could help it stand out, (like vines, flowers, grass ect ect.)
  8. Something I'm working on for Steam (Valentines Day 2015 release.)
  9. I really like the look of this, it has such an American/UK Genesis/Megadrive vibe going on. Of what the footage shows, it's really wanting me to get my hands on a demo! . Keep up the good work, it's looking awesome.
  10. Retro game stuff. From engines to art. I'm mostly an 2D artist and can do most stuff from 8-bit to 16-bit. If you want to check some stuff out, I have some games on Newgrounds as well as one in production for Steam: http://sinclairstrange.newgrounds.com/ And my upcoming Steam game: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=210952339 You can also find some of my artwork on deviant art too: http://sinclairstrange.deviantart.com/ So that's pretty much my stuff. I also dabble in some music now and again which you can find on my you-tube "amesuki". Although that's not really my strong area.
  11. Yay! I'm glad peeps are happy to see me return with my bloody old fan game! I'm glad I stumbled across it when I was clearing out some stuff on my hard-drive and I was like OH THIS! I even downloaded TGF to get it finished 'cause I remember I was adamant I'd make/finish it on that piece of software. (Although I am porting it to a MMF so most of the TGF glitches are stopped.) With that I've got a new video of the whole of the first zone. You can watch it down below if you want http://youtu.be/BYqIbDp7d3E But not only that, I've quickly scrambled a demo of it too for people to play. http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/download/02afdf35b24978931fc83063937bf5ef I know it's not fantastic, it does have some glitches in it but I don't want to spend too much time on this. If I did have the time, I'd prolly port it Unity and really make it polish, although in a way having some of these glitches makes it feel like it does belong on a Game Gear. Also excuse the lack of original music. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to use existing Game Gear music or compose my own. It's just rather difficult composing accurate GG sounding music. Anyway I hope ye enjoy -Amesuki
  12. Just thought I'd upload something else do it doesn't seem like it's a one post of a picture/video and scarper off for another year. So I present you with the map of Mount Turquoise Act 2. As you can see, the layout it very much influenced by Sonic Chaos' Turquoise Hill. Now time to start work on a boss and then the next level. -amesuki Thanks! I'm going to try really hard to actually finish this! It's been so so so long.
  13. Back from the dead! Also I notice the forums have been swapped over to this site, I do remember reading up about that some time ago. Anyway I thought I'd show off something with regards to this game. I was looking through some old files and I found an engine I was working on a few years back. So I decided to dust it off and finish this thing off as a side project to my actually game dev work. So here be a picture of the first level, (all revamped,) Mount Turquoise And also, a video playthrough of the first act of this stage! http://youtu.be/QbHPsyEcpKE I'll keep people updated as best I can, but it's nice to sort of be back in the world of Sonic Fan gaming again -Amesuki
  14. Felt like flexing my pixel art muscles while I wait for stuff. Probably won't be doing anything with it beyond a few touchups... though I do like the organic feel that the higher resolution gives. That looks awesome. The higher resolution and simple style makes it stand out damn good . Messing around with filters. Might/might not have an option to include them in game. Engine's complete also!
  15. Hot damn, those item boxes look amazing!
  16. Awesome, hopefully I'll have something to actually show off by then. (Considering I don't get too bogged down in flash work.)
  17. It's been a pure age but I WILL finish this damn blasted fan game off. Anyway I lost the source to the original game ages ago and that's the reason I never finished or came back to it. Anyway a few years later and I'm going to start my like 5th attempt or something. I've still been making games however in the mean time. (I go by the user, Sinclairian on Newgrounds, check me out if you wish.) So, yeah...here is a picture of a W.I.P. It's coming along nicely, still being made in TGF and hopefully will still feel all 8-bit(y). I'll upload a video when I feel time is right. Hope you like and it's sure weird to be Sonic Fan Gamin' again. (Does SAGE still run? If so, when does it start?)
  18. 8-Bit Sonic Colors anyone? Actually works rather well and still gives a presence of GG's limitations.
  19. It's been a year. A year of madness to be quite honest, so much has happened I completely forgot about this game...until Sonic Colors came out and re-rocked my world of Sonic. =) So I've decided to finish it, wrap it up and give it some love. I'm not debugging the engine because to be honest I can't be bothered. For example rolling is a bit off, (although it's close to GG's games) there isn't skidding and the camera doesn't look up or down. (I've debugged it, I couldn't help myself. He now skids, it rolls near enough like a Game Gear styled game and he looks up and down ) I have stuck to my guns and it's still been made in TGF1 Anyways. Just to show it isn't utterly dead, 'ere is a nice video of a 8bit take of Starlight Carnival. <3 (I havn't got around to making the 8bit music of it yet ) And 'eres some pictures if you can't view the video: I'm hoping to finish it before christmas, or just after but I might hold onto it and release it at next years SAGE. (Or I might make a new one for it, I really don't know atm) Anyway hope ye likes, -Amesuki
  20. You do =) Just that the video capture hates flashing objects so I had to take the flash out on some things. (Some explosions flash too). @Inferno: I could learn how to do it, two player is even near enough coded in for a locally played game. The problem is that the time it would take to place it in, not much people would touch the 2P side of it. So why bother? It'll be more worth my time coding in huge bosses, added few extra levels than 2P co-op option. Anyway thanks for ya comments =) ^^
  21. Work on Mayhem is going smoothly atm. Four levels have been designed. So I'm giving myself a break. Yeah, well I've moved back to this project and this is what currently been done =) Hope ya like =). 90% of this was coded in TGF. See TGF is still a beast sometimes =)
  22. That 3D/360 engine F'G'Revolver is pretty sweet. Friend and I did the same once two years back but it was a side on view. Looked like rivals in the end but it wasn't slow and clunky cause we was working off Dami's 360o. I don't think I have the source anymore but my friend might. I'll see if I can dig it out soon but I'm not promising anything. Why I'm rather interested in your 3D games because I used to love working on Gm6 D3D code back in the day.
  23. Tbh if Sonic Xtreme (PC version that Senn and Alon were working on) came out...that would totally be a smegging awesome 3D version of Sonic. Just those videos, it just seemed to work...
  24. That made me so lol Cyborg. So true, so true.
  25. I think both have there upsides and downsides. I remember way way back two-three years back when I was developing Project SX on GM6. It was my take on the cancelled Sonic Xtreme game. I never finished it sadly and was due mainly to what DW was saying. I was involved in a team but the team got lazy and it was usually me that was coding, making textures basically doing everything. Considering I never used GM before (I was originally just the texture artist) to end up doing near enough everything was just too huge of a task. Saying that, heres me now with Mayhem and still after two years I havn't finished the damn game and I think thats down to getting bored of the project easily. Anyway rambling over, I think that 2D games are easier to make but yet after the engine is near done, the whole boring, same old same old level creation, placing tiles gets rather boring. (To me anyway) where as 3D games are just so huge of a project to finish they rarely get finished or get finished and seem rushed.
