TheVividYoshi
I was wondering, is it possible to speed up the music instead of just playing a different song, like in Sonic 3?
GSF
Everything is possible, but first we need to know what tool and music playing method you're using.
TheVividYoshi
I am using the standard one for Sonic Worlds Delta 1.3/1.2, I haven't made any changes to it except internal music files (rather than the ones in the app folder), and I am using Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer. Techokami
Sadly, there's no way to increase the tempo of a channel with the built-in audio playback functions. You will need to look into using an alternative audio playback extension that provides this functionality. OR, do what Dimps did with Sonic 4 and have a sped-up version of the BGM set to play if you get speed sneakers.
TheVividYoshi
I may try that, thanks anyway!
TheVividYoshi
Do you have any suggestions for an extension which allows this? I can't seem to find one, and I am getting extremely close to trying to mod the existing audio extension...
InfinityAlex
One solution is to have both tracks play at the start of a level on a loop, but have your speed shoe variant silent; then, when the speed shoes are activated, have MMF2 switch the volumes, making your level track silent but your speedshoes play. This will give the illusion that the track has been sped up. Then, after speed shoes run out, have the volumes switch again. Hope this helped. You'll have to match the proper positions on track transfer. EDIT: Before you guys get any bright ideas, I tried altering playback speed manually with channel positions to simulate the effect. Don't. It sounds like ass. Edited July 17, 2014 by Techokami
