DimensionWarped Posted April 4, 2010 Report Share Posted April 4, 2010 Month 1's concept is rain. Spring rain to be specific, but specifics aren't really what we are interested in just yet. Lots of games have rain in them. Few games make rain into an important concept (though a few do). For this months challenge, we are going to come up with ideas that would be fodder for a rain-based level (or even a rain-based game, if that floats your fancy). On to some examples where the theme has been employed... You all probably remember the rain stage from Sonic Heroes. Sure, the rain was only used to create the equivalent of springs and grind rails, but the effect was there and it was prominent. It's been featured in Ninja Gaiden 2 where it was used to demonstrate the direction of the wind for a frustrating stage-wide mechanic. Heavy Rain's plot uses rain as an eerie super-natural symbol.
