Cuda Ahbuda
I don't know if this has been discovered but Lava Reef & Dirty Diana has a strong similarity. Lava Reef: Jackson's Dirty Diana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJpLGQpngDI

Aaron C-T
Nah, me either. I think the closest/best/strangest one is Stranger in Moscow and the Sonic 2 End Credits.

cyborg_ar
anyway, i keep my version, compare any pop song with michael jackson's whole discography an you'll be likely to find similarities, just like if you did the same with rock&roll songs and the rolling stones' discography, though the similarity between the ending and stranger in moscow is creepy..... Aaron C-T
I wouldn't call it creepy. I mean, it's in the same key, has the same melody, I'm almost certain you could sing Stranger in Moscow over it (albeit slightly faster) and it'd sound the same. I actually have a remix of Strange in Moscow done with nothing but OS X sound effects. I mean.. it's gotta be the same song.

Guest Shadix
Jam sounds a lot like Casino Night Zone :XEDIT: Carnival Night Zone Carnival Night Zone actually samples jam. The hits are literally a downsampled, stretched clip from that section of jam. Once you listen to this comparison thing you will never hear CNZ the same again. http://sonicresearch.org/basement/?p=mj_s3 Scroll down to the sample comparison section and then listen to the Sample A0 comparison. Also, Blood On the Dancefloor literally samples the knuckles beat, which, in reverse leads me to believe that the knuckles beat in Sonic 3 was merely a stock beat Brad Buxer had, as he produced that song as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ0j0PbNA5g 1:35ish
Ristar
Stranger in Moscow and Carnival Night Zone (and maybe now blood on the dance floor) are fine by me, I see the similarities; but some people seem to be clutching at straws at times. The Ice Cap Zone similarity is bullshit, the chord sequence is only slightly similar and some people instantly attribute common chord progressions to Jackson's work. Puh-lease. Yeah, the chord progressions aren't the same, even Qjimbo says now that the similarities are next to nonexistant, and that his basis for comparison was flawed. It's merely the "texture" of the song he says. Although, if were going to spew out weird ass song comparisons. Mystic Caves 2P from Sonic 2 and Don't Stop Till You Get Enough. Sounds more like MJ work than anything that was found in Sonic 3 lol.
MaxSonic
Anyone remember an NES game called Guardian Legend? The game combined side-scrolling shooting with action rpg elements. There was a room you would enter where you would enter and exit the rpg areas. The song there sounds just like the beginning of Dragonforce's Through the Fire and The Flames. Seeing how Dragonforce gets a lot of their inspiration from video games, I would not find it surprising if this was their inspiration.
