Mark the Echidna
I actually got my DC really late (2001-2002?)... I'm now unsure if I got it after SEGA stopped producing it... But here it's still produced, anyway(Hell! Even the Master System is still produced here!)
Guest Shadix
it's probably incapable of running homebrew then... SEGA made a hotfix for the running CDR "problem" torwards the end of the DC's short cycle. I think that the rapant abuse of that exploit was a key factor in speeding up the end of the console :\. At least it lets the majority of us take a look at the extensive library in entirety that we may not have had access to. Also, didn't SEGA start producing them again in January in limited quantities through their online store?
Eraysor
I believe they did, but I don't have a link handy at the moment to prove it.
Mark the Echidna
Wasn't the "newly produced ones" actually old ones that were fixed? BTW, my DC can run homebrew fine.
Aerosol
They only sell refurbished consoles.
Aaron C-T
It's only SEGA of Japan and they only sell refurbished ones. And anyone who did the whole CDR thing before the end of DC's life is an utter idiot. It was one of the best systems. I can't remember the last time I saw a top down old-school shooter on another system outside of Ikaruga, which coincidentally was also released on the Dreamcast.. hmm..
