It was something like this: You probably have a seperate object for the water surface, right? Add it to group 0. Then you'll need events to turn off the internal flag that determines whether or not it's solid. If Sonic is on the ground and going at a certain speed, it's set to solid. If Sonic is in the air, it's set to not solid. If Sonic's going too slow in either direction, it's set to not solid. Simple, but I'm not sure if I explained it well. Does this help?
