1/27/09 Sonic Worlds Release - LATEST (experimental) BUILD
True Blue replied to Rael0505's topic in Sonic Worlds Discussion
Thanks. It appears now. But there are still some problems. Even though it has hopefully all events set, the sounds don't play and the shield disappears like a regular one on the first strike. No flash, either. -

That's strange. Still nothing. And I did that for both the monitors and the icons. -
1/27/09 Sonic Worlds Release - LATEST (experimental) BUILD
True Blue replied to Rael0505's topic in Sonic Worlds Discussion
I'm having some trouble with Protection Shield. I'm passing the stuff I like from this new version of Worlds to my game, which is in an earlier version. I'm having the care to notice the possible differences between the events of this Shield's monitor and the other ones. I've copy-pasted both shield objects, the gauge, the monitor and the icon. When I try it out, everything goes well, except that the icon doesn't stop rising, therefore, never disappears, therefore, the shield doesn't appear. Any idea what can be wrong? Am I missing something in the events? -

I won't check it out for now cuz I'm a little busy. But I give my thanks and congrats to everyone who has contributed. Cheers! -
That's very cool. It looks like Sonic Unleashed with sprites. Damn good job!

It's fine, do what you must. I like the idea of the running animation going faster. -
ACGWACNTOBIHABOOCTRSBIIAT TSTJBSBS (A Christmas Game)
True Blue replied to Jamie Bailey's topic in Game Project Showcase
I like it, specially the sprites. Nice work. -
Happy Birthday, DW. But who's that lady? Anyway, have a great time, and thank you for your presence.

I already have a Sega Saturn and a Nintendo DS Lite. I'm trying to decide which one of these (Xbox360 or Wii) to get next, whether it's for this Christmas or afterwards. I may get the other one later, but my pockets will be thankful if I get it in about 10 years from now. I'm exaggerating, of course. As you may know, I've been around this for ages, and wish to get over it as soon as possible. I don't know if this topic will help, but then again, I don't know if it won't either, so... Speak up your mind. PS: I'm not just thinking about Sonic Unleashed, and I'm almost deciding to get the 360. Problem is, there's not many Sonic games, and not a single Mario game. I already have a DS, so I'm slightly covered on that. What do you all think?

I see you're buying Sonic Unleashed. Which console you own? -

OK, I could finally play the boss. Why didn't people tell me I had to click the squares? Oh well... It's all great. My congratulations. I can't wait to have the build, so I can add some of the new cool stuff to my project. -

What is that for? Well, I entered a page by Googling that, and I don't know what I'm looking for exactly. -

I tried to open it, but after the music stops, nothing else happens. Like finding the differences from one version to the other? Maybe if we tell Clickteam about these problems, they'll later release a much smoother version. Right now, we're stuck with this, so how will I really handle this? Is copying the objects and then, the codes the cleanest way? What did Lark do? -

Sonic Worlds - Your Contributions (before) 1/27/09)
True Blue replied to Rael0505's topic in Sonic Worlds Discussion
Since I'm developing a game through this engine, I have a question: Is there a clean way to pass all the progress made to our own game? I mean, each of us took a version of Worlds, started adding our sprites, programmings and such. To be able to add the stuff from newer versions to our edit, how do you suggest I do it? Right now, I only added new item boxes and characters and replaced some sprites. -

I tried your alternate upload, but it still freezes. Yes, that's where it freezes. -

I try to open it, but it closes. Is this happening to anyone else? -

I've completed both missions together, and finished the level. But nothing happened. You would expect that after a level being finished, you would be taken back to the menu. But it freezes, unless I get a high-score. -

True Blue replied to BlazeHedgehog's topic in Game Project Showcase
Congratulations, Blaze. You always manage to impress us. Don't tell me you're going through with that Unleashed thing, are you? Playing along with the demos, are we? I really like how the level gets flooded. Something like that didn't happen in an official game since Sonic 3, when the walls started closing and changing (in Marble Garden, if I'm not mistaken). Well done there. Although I have some suggestions: 1. Since the Christmas is coming, can you present us with a new version of the 2007 Christmas demo? Add to it stuff you added to the new demo (and stuff you will continue adding 'til Xmas); make the level bigger (and improved graphics if you want, I personally love the current ones), etc. 2. When you finally complete the game (whenever it is), add to it all the levels (or improved versions) you've given us through the demos, and most likely won't be in the final game. I think it would be great to see the cool demo levels you've made with the final engine and such. -
Sonic: The Fated Hour - July 2009 Update

Blaze, that's the coolest thing I've seen! I gotta try that some day! I prefer playing a game in a TV screen too. The pixels and everything else look better, more bright and colorful (if you play it in a regular tv, in a 4:3 resolution, I presume). That's why I love the Mega-Drive. -
Looks very nice, Nitemare. Good luck on the project. I love Mario's sprite. Me, I'm kinda thinking about making a Mario game too. After playing New Super Mario Bros. and looking at classic sprites, I got inspired. But don't wait up, it's nothing decided yet. Right now, I'm focusing in Sonic Galaxy. The project for a Mario game will only come after I'm done with this, or when I have any ideas for sprites or gameplay. I can't wait to play this game. Good job!

To marco: I understand your problem, but unfortunately, people don't just offer to make sprites for you, specially if you haven't given any proof of what you're doing is real. People have their own projects, wich keep 'em busy. The best way to have someone doing something for you, is to have a team. I advice you to learn how to sprite for yourself. If you really don't want to make sprites, then swallow your pride, and use someone else's, but see if you need permission. You probably want to make a game or enter the SAGE 2008 really bad, but if you don't have the needed skills, freeze the project, and find as many information you can get, before doing anything. Patience is a virtue. I still need to learn how to program. I'm good at spriting, the rest is quite a challenge. So give it a time. You probably need earlier preparation, if you want to enter the SAGE. I say, wait for the next one.

Needing the instrumental versions of songs
True Blue replied to True Blue's topic in Game Project Assistance
What? I can't find instrumental music there. I mean, I only found Elise's theme, but nothing else. -
Thanks. I got it.
