  1. Same here. Good luck on everything, Endri. Good to know you still have a copy of all the stuff. I'm willing to wait, for the sake of a good game. And its creator's good mood. And, screw the guy who did that.
  2. That's a great idea. I'm trying to do that with some 3D models in some DS games as a personal project. I don't mind much the game won't be at SAGE. It'll be for the best, right?
  3. The game looks great. Really good job. I can't wait for SAGE. I think the Genesis games were fast. Sonic 1 was a little slower than 2, though. Will you make the game faster in the future?
  4. It's OK. I'd like to see one as I think you did a great job visually in the Christmas demo. So you mean you'll do only levels related to the game itself from now on? Kind of like in the first demos?
  5. I like how your game is going. Just an idea: if you ever get a demo done by Christmas, it would be a nice touch if it was Christmas themed. I think you've done an awesome job with the SAGE 2008 demo. I still like to play it. The level doesn't seem short to me. Nice to read your updates. We all encourage you to keep making them. After all, they help you on your work.
  6. I'm loving your idea for the shields. It's amazing how, when something happens to our projects and when we get back on our feet, the result is even better than how it was before.
  7. It's good to see you working again on your game. Love the sketch, btw. Good luck in this second round.
  8. Consoles rule! Seriously though, I'm glad it's not just me who feels that way about the emulators. It's cool that I got to play Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles through Gens, but it would be a lot cooler if I got to play them, even in a PS2's SMC+. I'm still trying to either get SMC+, a Wii for the VC, or a Mega Drive. I love the feeling a console gives.
  9. If I ever get a Wii, I'll look for that controller. I think you're right. I didn't play many Mega-Drive games when I was little. But I wanted one since I was three. No, I don't want a Mega Drive because I never got one. I want one because it's cool to play games on a living room, insert a cartridge in the console instead of a CD, and because I enjoy playing them in my cousin's. That console has some really great titles too. I play Mega Drive games on an emulator sometimes, but it doesn't feel the same as when I play them on an actual Mega Drive. The quality of the non-flat television gives the colors more life than in a computer screen, and you don't see the sprites as square as they really are. The TV screen makes the pixels look somehow better. I like the Wii, but I don't imagine myself feeling the same way with the Wii Classic or Gamecube Controller as I feel with the Mega Drive one. About the NES or SNES consoles, I'm not sure. Playing old Nintendo games in a new Nintendo consoles makes some sense. I'd obviously prefer to own them as cartridges instead of playing them on some kind of emulator. The issue about the controllers is a bit different when it comes to Nintendo. I didn't have an experience with those consoles when I was little. The Mega Drive is more special to me, I guess. I would feel strange playing Mega Drive games with a white controller, but probably not as much when playing Nintendo games with the Classic Controller or the Nyko Wing, for example.
  10. With the Wii and the VC around, buying old consoles, unless you're a collector, seems very pointless. Why bother? People love the old consoles for their looks, their games, their success, the fact they came in cool plastic cartridges with styly stickers on... But thanks to the VC, to save money on the consoles, it's possible to choose to play all those games in a single one. Which is good if you don't mind playing them in a white shiny console, instead of the traditional and, by many, good old, black and gray ones. At least, the PS3 controller still reminds me of the SEGA Mega Drive or Saturn controllers. Let me just say this is not meant to start a war. I know this topic introduction sounds controversial. It's only because I'm trying to introduce it in a general opinion, which is not exactly my own.
  11. Like the golden stone, right? Huh? Huh? Rael, I kind of already tried that (or tried to start that) but never looked at it as a method. And I have never looked at several sprites, gather them together and think of what to do with them. You just gave me a big advice. LOL That part I know, I'm talking about the transparencies made in the active objects editor. I saw that in a tutorial at Clickteam.
  12. I'm very sorry to hear that, Streak. But I notice you're starting to recover. Good for you. I wish the best for your future projects. You know, when something I worked on really hard suddenly disappears, I try to tell myself that when I try again, it'll come even better than before. Until you're ready to carry on with Mecha Madness, take a break. Play your favorite game, take a walk, enjoy the view, read a book, anything. Do you draw? It helps me to relax.
  13. Both the above posts: I was gonna think about that later, but thanks. Right now, I'm more worried with the shield. There must be something we haven't figured out yet. Why did I hear the flash's sound, but didn't see it? Why did it only work when I was Super Sonic and had the shield invisible at the same time? Sorry for having so many questions.
  14. How did Damizean help you out? Know any good tutorials to learn how to sprite? I noticed it's possible to add transparencies in MMF2. But I don't know how to do it.
  15. I have the Build R247 in my MMF2. I don't think I need an update so that the shield works well. Please, give me a hand. Is there any alterable/global value I need to look at in any object, other than the "Set Shield to #"? EDIT: Something very weird has happened. I destroyed the shield's monitor, I got it, then I destroyed the Super Sonic's monitor, I turned into him, then I walked through one of the enemies. I could hear the sound of the flash as I touched it, but I couldn't see it. Afterwards, I tried to walk through that same enemy with the Protection Shield and as regular Sonic. It happened the same it always happens, the shield disappeared, the deep sound played and Sonic played the animation of when he loses a shield or the rings. Isn't it weird? Oh, and when I'm Super Sonic, the enemies don't get destroyed like he was with the invincibility. I assume that's because I have an older build of SW. I hope this information has helped.
  16. I use Paint. It's cool, because I learned a lot of tricks with it. I know how to replace a color entirely, manipulate the rubber, make copies faster than Copy-Paste, etc. Photoshop is good for sprites too, but the tricks I learned on Paint really grew on me. I'll give a look at MtPaint and Paint.NET later. Who knows, maybe I'll learn even more tricks.
  17. sigh... Everything is already in its right place. I have copied all shield events in Azu's Editions, and still nothing. I'll later check if MMF2 lets me update.
  18. The shield's properties don't show any number. What's in the hazards? @ Blue Emerald: If there isn't any counter except the purple number, then yes, I have all objects. Wait, can this all be because of my MMF2 version? I don't think it's old, but I haven't noticed any new build.
  19. Counter... Is that the purple number(s), or something else? Maybe that's the problem. I assure I copied the shield, the shield's flash, the icon, the monitor, the number's icon and the numbers.
  20. Love the graphics. Nicely done. I haven't seen games with Advance sprites for some time now (except for Streak's game).
  21. The shield's appearing sound works now. Although, it still works like an ordinary shield. Any thoughts?
  22. Sorry I keep having questions. I can't find the hazards part or the number of the shield on the properties. How do I pass a sound from one file to another? I already found the place where I can see them. It's on the View Menu. Just don't know what to do next.
  23. For that, I think I won't have a problem. Unless I can't find the option. I'm more concerned about the functioning of the shield. It doesn't protect Sonic, it disappears as a normal shield and when it gets hit, the flash doesn't come out. Here's what I did: 1. I copied all objects related to the Protection Shield (Shield, Flash, Monitor, Icon, Purple number and Gauge Icon). 2. I copied all events related (Monitor, Monitor Icon and Shield). 3. On the events, instead of Alterable Value "Shield" being 5, I set it to 7 everywhere I saw it was necessary. 4. Then, seeing I had some trouble, I went here to ask, which took me back to copy some remaining events on "Azu's Editions". 5. As I copied everything, I placed everything in the respective group (icon events in the icon's group, etc.) Currently, the shield appears, no sound, and everything works except the protection part: no flash coming from the shield when it gets hit, and it only lasts one hit, disappearing and making the same sound every other shield makes when hit (you know...).
