  2. true you can always load them externally and you can free whatever you don't need. In my commercial games I use a lot of external resources and works just fine. True. MMF games have caused me a lot of problems especially sound bugs on different machines. Also they require me to install that cncs runtimes and stuff while GM games run completely standalone without the need of an installer. I personally use Game Maker for pc games and Game Editor for mobile games. I rarely use MMF. Good level only it felt somehow empty in some places. And the motobugs got stuck at the end of my active view.
  3. Awfully scary XD Btw: When you take up the bubble to the right-up to the surface as long as I try to touch the next checkpoint I fall in the floor and get back down. Is there a way to go up from there? And the boss is ok, but after the 1st one, it gets really harder especially if you have no rings, so a supply is needed after the 1st boss. Also one comment: Something needs to get freed from enemies when you destroy them. Animals or flowers.
  4. Wow, there's no need to be offensive there. I just took the time, played and commented on the game. Don't put me in the same boat as others. Then it needs some loading screen or message. After I had to climb on 2 batches of circular moving platforms and the air counting "2" I thought demos were meant to show initial stages to get a taste. Well my bad here. Yeah it looks dumb. I am going to comment on the game means I am not only comment on the engine.
  5. Comments and Bugs: 1. The starfish spinning attack doesn't look very good and it's annoying at the point where you have to take the bubble to go outside if it manages to get near it. 2. The snail enemy face looks like it doesn't fit in a sonic game imo. 3. Most of level design was ok but in the point you get the water shield, if you lose it then you're done for. The level isn't too friendly to the player if he loses the shield. 4. At the start, you don't have to put all the credits there, it kind of ruins the presentation. You can add them at e.g. the opening. and if you keep them add a way to skip them. 5.The main title screen needs a little more animation, logo-wise. 6.BUG? Sometimes after I viewed the controls the game froze for a bit and had to wait a lot for it to unfreeze. Now.. carry-on please...
  6. I like it, it looks smooth. But are you sure it would be easy to add slopes or loops? Why do you use Flash? I s it because you want it embeddable in a webpage? Flash is very disorganised code-wise and if you wish to create a standalone, it will behave slow when scaled up or played in fullscreen. A bug was that when I jumped on a platform from the side, sometimes it jumped me upwards.
  7. I think this is the Knuckles Chaotix sprite? Am I wrong? And the title is Sonic XG or Retro Sonic XG?
  8. I understand but I had no problem taking it out even if I was hit by it's beam multiple times. But yes, since it's an opening I think Sonic could start with 100 rings just to make sure beginners don't get stuck. Some other comments as I played again off today: The Intro music reminds me of SRB2 a lot, which is something that makes me worry that the game isn't going to be finished. It just gives me that feeling. As Knuckles I encountered 2 glitches. I think they have been mentioned again in this topic. The one with the pipe and the special stage ring. Also Nack/Fang appears too soon as a boss imo.

  10. Most commercial games go fullscreen at startup plus it adds up a lot to the presentation. An alternative would be an external tool to change this or an options screen if not wanted.

  13. This is some great fangame! Love it how it starts from the Doomday zone. I also love the background changing effect when you enter the secret cave. The special stages were very nice presented. My recommendation would be to present the game in fullscreen at start and disable that MMF menu completely. Add an options screen too.
  14. Thanks a lot, I will work hard on this one. Hmm, yeah. This has to do with the raw base movement engine I used, I had to correct running as well because Sonic moved too slow in this as well. There are some things that make me want to re-write the whole engine myself. :/ Actually I used a bounce type movement for this. But I think the object that serves for the launcher should hold the Piranha for a while before relauching it. Actually it isn't the camera that limits you but some invisible wall objects a little further from the boss camera view. Need to put them closer then. Needs more work. For example it's missing the clouds layer and the sea layers should move too. Yes it's relative to player's movement.
