  2. Wow, as someone said, it looks like a new Sonic Advance game... I aways liked the Sonic Advance 2/3 graphic style, the main problem with those two games were level design, lack of gimmick and stupid/useless features... But since Nite is going to make it as classic as possible it has potential to be the greatest fangame ever! I like psychedelic stuff, but as long as it makes some sense... Like Stardust Speedway: it's a speedway in the sky... and Wacky Workbench: it is a bouncing workbench... But I can't really say what Rainbow Runaway is, if it had some sense (ie.: it's a highway... it's a mountain) then it would look awesome.

  4. Yes sure, I gave these to Marik a long time ago. But I thought that the game was canceled so, the huds were in my PC, and the contest was open... I puted it here... I remember I made a mockup in a screen that you released, it was some kind of labyrinth zone with grey pallete, I don't have it here anymore...

  7. Nice Hydrocity remix! I just don't get... Sunset Shore... Retro... Is it because you're using the sunset shore song instruments?
  8. Nice graphic style, I think it would be even better if you edit the sonic sprites to fit better the background... Maybe cell-shaded style would be nice. Well, just an opinion... Great job.

  11. Can I ask for an advice? What name would you give to a level that is an aquatic park, but with alliteration like sonic cd? The level is inspired in this and is a typical first level:
  12. Maybe some kind of level design like this would solve the problem: Upper Path: Completely far from water, but it's hard to keep up there... Middle Path: It's the general path that most people will take. Partially out of water, partially underwater. Sometimes you can find springs or plataforms that leads you to the upper path, but sometimes you can fall to the... Lower Path: Completely underwater for those unskilled players that can't keep theirselves up in a plataform (they must pay for it!). Or for the water lovers. This way is full of secrets like life boxes, wide segments of rings, shields etc. But eventually you can find springs or plataforms to get out of the water.
  13. I thought the different paths in S3&K was the most kickass part of the game... The most cool level is Marble Garden, where you get a different boss with Knuckles. Also I used to spend hours playing with Sonic in Knuckles paths with the debug mode, oh good times [nostalgia off, back on topic]

If you're used to MMF and understand the static engine, you might have a good programmation logic, that is enough for you to start building an engine in C++, there is a lot of libraries that draws graphic on screen like SDL, that make the hardest part of the work for you. I quited MMF and started learning C++ 2 years ago and now I have an almost ready engine (thanks to taxman's help!), but it just took me all that long because I stopped the project for one year... I believe that in one year you can do something good in C++ starting from now. And one year is not a lot of time... It's like, next Sage you could show us something...

  17. Guys, I have no words to describe the awesomeness of this... Tax, you've got the most kickass sonic engine ever! It's so accurate that I couldn't see anything that makes it differ from the official one, great job man, and thank you for being such a good C++ professor ;D Slingerland/DW/other people, Sunset Shore has the better level design I've ever seen in a fan game... Also you've got a great presentation with that opening, great job guys!

  19. Man, this game was OK when I first saw... But with the time attack it turned so addictive, I'm playing it for hours trying to beat JEV3's scores... Damn man I'll beat you!! ET:CF - Best on Sage, period.
