Yeah, despite the quote being hysterical, I'm concerned about this myself. Knuckles is gullible but he's not stupid. I hope they're not really making him a typical dumb jock. Although "Hey, I sound like a fortune cookie! *chomp!* Eh, but I don't taste like one." worries me.

Omg Rister. Shit. XD Despite the fact that I've pretty much made peace with Knuckles' redesign for this, what would you call it, sub-franchise? I'm still dying over it and the art mocking him that I've seen. Crack up every time.

Another reason for me to get the Wii U. I'm excited.

I was floored by Knuckles' redesign at first, but the more I look at it and think it over, the more I like it. It fits him. The other redesigns I'm in love with, especially Sonic's quills. Love that look so much. <3 I'm crazy excited for the cartoon and the game, personally.

Merry Christmas! My roommate got me a new computer desk. It's nice, cherrywood, was a little headache to put together but aren't they all. My mom got me a Ninja Turtles t-shirt, a funny cat book, cat "dress-up" magnets (a cat magnet and a bunch of "outfit" magnets, including a Santa hat and beard, so guess what he's wearing today haha), and $50 which was a nice touch. I got my roomie the Ahh! Real Monsters Complete Series dvd set. I also got her a couple of "pre Christmas" gifts: The Ove Glove and the Potato Express. Alas the Potato Express, a potato pouch claiming to cook potatoes "in 4 minutes" in the microwave fell short (it didn't cook any faster than the regular microwave without the pouch). The Ove Glove they sent me was the left hand, even though I ordered the right, but it works well. I also plan to get her a blanket she's been wanting but I have to wait until January. Fixed incomes are a pain. XP Anyway, hope everyone has a good holiday!

I really didn't give the outline much thought. I'm not sure how to get enough definition on such a simple character to eliminate the lines. I might play with it a bit. I hadn't really thought about the shading either, not sure what you mean exactly. You mean using the outline color as further shading?

So I've been trying to recreate the "chao playing with ball" animation from Tiny Chao Garden. It's been difficult for me because it's a lot of angles I'm not used to, but I think I've pulled it off for the most part. It could probably use improvement but I'm not sure where. Thoughts and critiques are hugely appreciated. Also for some reason it glitched while it was saving and for some reason I've got a weird residual image towards the end of the loop. I can't seem to get rid of it either. So ignore that for now.

Not to be that guy, but isn't someone who can "make sprites of badniks, tiles, etc." kinda by definition a pixel artist?

I'll warn you I haven't played a fangame in years and I've just jumped into this one without knowing anything about it. I've played a little tonight; I'll play some more tomorrow (since right now I've got to mute the game and it's hard for me to play without the sound effects). So far, I'm enjoying it, although the directional thing has me a little flumoxed. I like the twist on the gameplay though, and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it with a little more playing. I like!

I had a thread at some point but hell if I'm going to dig several years in to find it. So here's a new one. You may know me from my "Bootleg Sonic" sprites: Just silly stuff but they're fun. Slightly more serious and far more recent work are my chao sprites. These I'm rather proud of since they're not edited off existing work. They're not perfect and I'm still working on them, and any critiques are appreciated. The fat one at the bottom and the one below it are characters of mine from an old sprite comic I used to do. I couldn't resist spriting them, too, and I might re-do my old comics or at least continue them with the original art. And then of course, animated:
