  1. So, you need Game Maker programmers, musicians, and spriters. You're trying to find people to do all of the work for you while you tell them what to do, it seems.
  2. Something I noticed about this image: It would look a lot better if Tails' feet were behind the grass, like in all of the original Sonic games. It looks great already, but that would add a professional touch to it.

  4. I've been looking around for the tilesets from Sonic Spinball, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I've found some rough (in other words, shitty) rips from the first level, but nothing else. I'm looking for The Machine, in particular. Does anyone know where they may be?
  5. DNL, you seem pretty cool and mature for your age. I want to say "everything will be fine", but the truth is that I don't know a lot about your situation and I can't make such a generalization. I can say that I grew up with a lot of parental problems (still have them, I'm 20 years old and my dad stole 600 dollars from me a while back) and I survived, though. It really sucks, just try to get by on living your own life. Remember that you may have to respect your parents, but you don't have to let them rule over you, if you know what I'm saying.

I'm not a big fan of hacks. @Blazefire: The oldest demo is long gone, but I have the last SAGE demo somewhere. I'd rather not upload it, though, as it uses an old crappy engine. It doesn't do the new game justice. Also, as I can't seem to get a hold of Huepow anymore, if anyone would be willing to make some music for this game I would really appreciate it. Right now, I have one zone that won't have original music for the SAGE demo, and it's driving me crazy.
  7. SNOWBOARD YEAAAAAAHHHHHH It's more than just a cool show, it lets you utilize different snowboard-only paths and ramps.

  9. Sure, it works, but it's nothing like actual Sonic and there's no reason not to use a 360 engine when there's so many out there for free. Most people aren't content with an "eh, good enough" mindset when it comes to the games that they make.
  10. When he talked about not collecting Chaos Emeralds in the PS3/360 version, I just kind of assumed that it would be like SA, where you got the emeralds as part of the story and didn't really have control over it.
  11. That's how you learn. You've just got to experiment and practice. People aren't just born good at that stuff.
  12. It looks great, but it has a problem that appears in a lot of areas in your game: The big structures lack shading, and are basically just filled with a low contrast gradient. It breaks the feel of it, in my opinion. You should make them out to be like the rest of the tiles.
  13. For me, it's both ways. Classic Sonic in Green Hill? Been there, done that. A lot. Modern Sonic in City Escape? Yawn. Modern Sonic in Green Hill and classic Sonic in city escape, though? Fuckin' awesome.
  14. Gee, thanks for the spoilers with no warning at all. Since I don't want to see the list of levels, could someone at least tell me how many zones there are? I'd appreciate it.
  15. Played the demo. It's... okay. It's not really as great as I expected, to be honest. Classic Sonic is WAY faster than he ever used to be, so it's a little crazy at times. The spindash just isn't itself anymore, since you don't have to stop, rev it up, or even crouch. It's too powerful, you basically can just hold X for a second no matter where you are to get a massive speed boost. Other than those things, though, it's pretty solid. The level design is fantastic compared to other recent games! Even for being the first act of the entire game, it still has multiple paths to take and plenty of different kinds of areas.

  17. UnlimitedChaos, you haven't been here but a few weeks and you're already awesome. How about showing us a video of the 3D parallax? Screenshots don't really do it justice.
  18. How are Peter's pickled yams? Bet it's really tough, huh? Damn Arabian yams.
  19. Looks pretty good, but I have a few nitpicks. One is that some objects have black outlines, but others don't. It looks really weird. My other issue is that the sand is really dark. It looks more like desert sand than beach sand, so it doesn't really blend with the rest of the level in my opinion.
  20. Wasn't 2006 the first time this forum was around? I think it was proboards before that...
