  1. SAGE comes right around Otakon, so can't make it. Maybe next time with one of my non-Sonic games.

      There is an otakon? >.>

Yeh, August 9th-11th I believe. Baltimore Convention Center.

Hopefully you're talking about Otakon the convention and not Metal Gear's Otacon xD.

  2. Modernizing Sonic Worlds Delta V1.2 for my work-in-progress. It ain't much right now, I just felt like posting . It's called Sonic Euphorium. No story yet, Sonic is the only playable character, modernized gameplay (boost, jump dash, etc.) with a touch of Genesis visuals. I'm using chiptune music for the soundtrack.
  3. My first screen name, "qwertyabsol," has a very simple origin: I love computers (qwerty keyboards), and I (used to) love Pokemon. Voila. My current name, Jiyako, is a bit more complicated. "Jake" is the name I was born with. I would go more into my "identity," but not here (just check out my tumblr http://jiyako.tumblr.com) Translated into Japanese, my name is "Jeiku." Since this name would go to a character of mine (fursona), I wanted a less literal translation. I guess I just came up with three Japanese characters, and...voila again! Ji-ya-ko. ジヤコ if anyone's curious .
  4. I'm far more interested in female protagonists when it comes to any work of fiction, if you couldn't already tell. I could go further into why, but that's not why we make Sonic games . On a sidenote, I really do wish that "Sister Sonic" thing came through with SEGA. I'm sure all fans would love a good female protagonist that is canonical to the Sonic games. I would have even enjoyed a game featuring Amy; a simple action platformer, ya know? It wouldn't have to be a game where you go fast, just in the same universe that goes fast. And don't get me started with Honey the Cat; SEGA should be glad they included her in the PS3 release of Sonic the Fighters. Anyways, enough with that.
  5. Just a little demonstration on how I do my spiriting thing. I'm sure a lot of people do this.
  6. I think I stand corrected here...You guys can close this now... (Thx for your input, Potato )
  7. I recently was able to buy Clickteam Fusion 2.5. Great software; runs very decently on my Mac's Wineapp. But what's been confusing me is the extensions manager. Whenever I try to open the more recent Sonic Worlds Delta builds (V1.2, V1.3, V1.4.3), it say I need all these extensions. I install the ones I need, but there is still one left that I can't seem to find: Value Add. I looked in the program's folder to look for the extensions folder used in MMF2, but I don't see that either. So how do I add extensions that aren't listed in the extension manager?
  8. Just found a great and easy spiriting technique .
  9. Got bored in Sonic Worlds and decided to mess with him. I made a genderbend! I'm kinda proud of it . It looks a bit ecchi/sexualized, but that's just the way I like it.
  10. Trying to revamp the project. Again. I've played almost every game these girls come from. Still working on the larger games like Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3. The point of me making this game is equivalent to a practicum for a final exam: I'm studying an assortment of these games - graphics, mechanics and all, and putting together all the information I gathered into one production. Having said that, I'm gonna try to make each character play as they do in the game they're from, even if they have close to nothing on their arsenal. Trying to break away from how other fighting games/beat 'em ups use fixed "movesets."
  11. Just thought I'd update while I have time. So ever since I started using MMF2, I've gained this "skill" of editing Sonic's sprites (mostly from the Advance series). For some reason I'm trying to get back into it :\. Let me know what you think and whether or not I should continue. (YES I KNOW SOME GUY NAMED TARNISHPROWER DID THIS BUT I HAVE NOT SEEN HIM ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS. THIS WAS ALL OUT OF BOREDOM.) Welp, nevermind. I just figured out that he's here .
  12. I don't do fast food at all, so I wouldn't know ^^;. I was almost thinking about Yo Noid! for the NES, which I recently discovered is THIS, believe it or not 0_o.
  13. Probably one of the most useful Tetraminos xD. Really, it's the best to use to fix any mistakes.
  14. Tried to make some Metroidvania style sprites. Kinda ended in a trainwreck .
  15. Why thank you, TailsSena . I appreciate it! Trust me, guys. I've been looking at your forums since like SAGE 8. I know what kinds of discussions can cause an uproar.
  16. Hmm…not bad. Frankly, I haven't played it. It looks kinda like a sequel to Milon's Castle for the NES…Well after looking at it again, it is xD. Thanks .
  17. I'm not really defending myself. I don't care what people think about me being a furry. OKAYOKAYOKAYWHATEVER. Next topic, puh-leeze! I thought I'd show you a few things I did with MMF2 back when I was a young teenager. I started out with simple sprite editing in MMF2. I know, THESE LOOK BAD. TERRIBLE. That's one thing that annoys me, when people point out the obvious xD. Eventually, I started using the computer more for my drawings. I would either use my father's tablet to draw on the screen or scan in a sketch and color in photo editing software (I forget which ones I used…). Still not lookin' too good, eh? Then, that's when I sparked my first (fan)game idea. Sonic Delta. Simple name, no concepts, no level designs…I had no idea where to go from that image. So I just began experimenting with Sonic engines in MMF2. Then I left these ideas when I entered high school. I did other things involving designing new characters and whatnot. Lemme hear your thoughts on them :3.
  18. Here's something I did some time ago for a very early alpha. I made the text in Fireworks and animated them in Flash to add more umph. Not really planning on using it, but don't use it, please. Besides, the quality sucks xD.
  19. Thanks for the nice comments . Now allow me to scribble down some more concepts: I'd like to try to base the gameplay on more of a 2D arcade fighting style. I'm interested to see what will happen with small-scale sprites in a large-scale setting. Just imagine Smash Bros. as a 1v1 game with more tight boundaries for the camera. The characters mentioned earlier will be the ones you start with. There will most likely be unlockables that are from either Genesis/Megadrive or TurboGrafx-16 games. Now I will list assist characters, which will be activated a la Marvel vs. Capcom and come from GBA games. Assist Characters Astro/Atom from Astro Boy: Omega Factor Asterix from Asterix and Obelix: PAF Them All Atomic Betty from Atomic Betty Blender from Blender Bros. Django from the Boktai series (It's actually Bokura no Taiyou, get it right!) Beet from Bouken-Ou Beet: Buster's Road Katt from Breath of Fire II Danny from Danny Phantom: The Ultimate Enemy (Quite possibly one of Nick's greatest games ) Renamon from Digimon Battle Spirit Gohan from DBZ: Supersonic Warriors Goku from DB: Advanced Adventure Jill from Drill Dozer Rowen from Elemental Gelade Fuuko from Flame of Recca Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist: Stray Rondo Cure White/Cure Black, the Pretty Cure from Futari wa Pretty Cure (Both attack at once) Ranpha from Galaxy Angel GeGeGe from GeGeGe no Kitarou David Beckham from Go! Go! Beckham!: Adventure of Soccer Island Ebisu from Goemon New Age Shutsudou! Haru from Groove Adventure Rave Blue from Gunstar Super Heroes Juka from Juka & the Monophonic Menace Guntz from Klonoa Heroes Lady Sia from Lady Sia Stafy from the Legend of Stafy series Ginta from MAR Heaven: Knockin' on Heaven's Door Beginner (female) from Monster Gate Natasha from Princess Natasha: Student, Secret Agent, Princess Malice from Rivera: The Promised Land Jenosa Arma from Scurge Hive Sonyc from Sonyc (Yes, a joke character xD) Pitch from Super Puzzle Bobble Advance Aera from Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 (list to be completed eventually) Let me know what you think ^^.
  20. Meh, never been a big PC gamer, even when DOS was around. (Esp. getting the damn thing to work !)
  21. Probably the best suggestion here would be Klonoa . However, I think I'll wait until the next Smash Bros. game. I know the developers deny adding anymore new characters, but I assume there's that slight chance of the cabbit joining. I'll say it right now, I know absolutely nothing about No More Heroes. The overall graphics style of the game just has never caught my eye.
  22. Bubsy: Well, I guess it would be okay to add him…I'm not that big a fan of the games, but maybe he could be an assisting or unlockable character. Banjo and Kazooie: Okay, nice suggestion, but again, I'm trying to make this concept fit for a crossover featuring characters from very underrated 2D platformers that have been left to rot ever since release. I understand that this series has been through a lot, and many of retro gamers are demanding more similar games, but that's kind of relevant to the point I'm trying to make. Most of the games I chose have not been down similar paths like Banjo Kazooie and those other franchises. These SNES/SFC platformers/ARPGs only had one chance to shine on the TV screen, and most of them were only released in Japan. Croc, however, does sound like someone I could include. About those indie game characters, I'll probably have to play them before I consider them. I appreciate all of your suggestions though .
