  1. The idea is, after attacking, you dont go back to the first menu, you go to the 'FIGHT' one. So you can A+direction instantly again. But if you release A without any direction, you dont attack, so you can still deffend. And if you want to run, you can press B and go back to the first menu.
  2. Yep. Awesome stuff going on there. InfinityAlex, that music is really cool, loving it so far. And that Eggman sprite... I'm looking forward too see what comes from there. Seems very interesting. I'll leave here some stuff too. I call it... Pokemon Stadium Fantasy Advance... well, not actually. But this clearly takes elements from other games. Attacks have cooldowns (that red bar). Depending on the attack power and your agility, cooldown time will vary. You are also able to deffend yourself without needing to use a skill. And to make battles more dynamic, I'm making it Pokemon Stadium style. Having the cursor on 'Moves', if you press the A button, the move window will appear, and as soon as you press the corresponding direction and release A, you will execute the move. BTW, for those who are wondering why I'm here posting pokemon stuff... well. Its easiest to get attention on relatively small communities. On the biggest ones, it is something impossible if you dont have anything strong enough to show. So yeah.
  3. I guess the meaning of having a main layer is that you will always colllide with it, doesn't matter if you are on the low or on the high layer. It should be better and more flexible to have those 3 layers instead of just low and high.
  4. Oh, thanks for those nice replies = ) I appreciate them. The truth is, I had. A very basic one. But I dont have the time to make a complex and fully functional map editor (the first release has the next september as deadline), so I looked for an already existing program that fills my needs. Nevertheless, I dont discard it completely yet.
  5. Not exactly a screenshot, but... I think I'm getting some nice progress there. What do you think?
  6. Looks really lovely. I'm with Overbound, except for the 'almost'. Far better than the original IMO, maybe because it looks so modern compared to the simple designs of the original characters. Anyways, nice work.
  7. Thank you. I think I'm gonna stick with 1366x768, as it seems is the minimum resolution of all monitors out there. Maybe in the future I'll make a 1080 version, to have both aspect ratios, but I cant make it resizable, or allow the player to choose the desired resolution, that requieres soooooo much work (almost rewrite the entire editor) to make it not look bad as hell.
  8. I will enable full screen in the future, sure. But I wanna know what is the best resolution to use in windowed mode, because the one I'm using seems too small : /
  9. The fact that is related to Pokemon have nothing to do with the question. This thread is to ask for people who play games opinion on certain matter, more than a certain knowledge. If the mods thinks this is not appropiate, then they will delete the thread.
  10. The title explains itself. I'm making a Pokemon Engine with Game Maker. That is, I dont have Windows forms, so programming the editor to work being resizable is a pain in the ass. Or two. Currently, the editor is at 1024x768, the first res I used to start building it and test it. But after use it a lot fot like a real end-user instead of just testing, it felt very very small. Some help here would be welocome. Which resolution would be the best? Should I assume most people have 1080p monitor? At the end, I'll try to make it resizable, but for now, I need to focus on funcionality, while trying also to make it comfortable to use.
  11. I am an old member, but I couldnt get my old account to work, so made a new one. But thanks for the welcome : D And for the edit, yes, the engine will be opensource, once I get all code cleaned (it will take forever -.-) And it's made with Game Maker 8.1 (a bit limited talking about huge engines or games) but I think it can work.
  12. Something I've been working on on the last months: Still WIP. The old UI was ugly as hell. I tried to improve it and I got Origin.
