  1. I really like that first screenshot... Looks awesome As for the second, yeah, it's a tad boring.. Though I think it would be much better if you just try to mess with the more '3d' tile effect more... Instead of having it repetitively go in and out, just have it look like it sticks out on the ends of the platforms instead of throughout the entire way... now to figure out if what I said made any sense... I love the story... Really classic.
  2. Nice... It has a post modern classic SFGHQ look and feel to it... Excellent work
  3. Hey, Bison in the orignal had character... Kinda... And the casting was pretty good at least... Unlike some other movie based on Super Sonic lookalikes...
  4. Meh, I won't complain about the age of the thread, but during SAGE at least, there are those that help out with hosting... I hosted a few people's pages and I think Jsonic as well... In fact, the ones I hosted are still up there... I probably should ask if anyone wants me to take their stuff down... Not that I have any reason to...
  5. I think your playthrough is more entertaining than the game...
  6. You know, that makes perfect sense... It's their flagship character, and the character's main games shouldn't be anything less than awesome... When you thought about SEGA you used to think about Sonic and think greatness... Now... Well... For Answer has been out in the US for a while and is completely awesome IMO... Not sure about other regions however...
  7. Ok, this is really cool... (I exported the demonstration as an exe...) http://pnmhq.com/ssb/stuff/boneanimation.exe Construct (currently 0.98.2) now supports bone animation via a bone behavior among many other things...(improvements to pathfinding (objects will move around stopped objects, many bug fixes, etc)) Release notes/Discussion: http://www.scirra.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2218 Source for the bone animation thing and other nifty things you can do with Construct can be found here http://www.scirra.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=16 It's really shaping up to be a pretty nice product...
  8. Sweet, I loved this game... I'll let you know how it is, and hopefully I can remember enough to compare the fixes etc to the SAGE demo...
  9. Hmm... based on what you guys say, I think the verdict of the finally published Destructoid Review sounds about right... http://www.destructoid.com/destructoid-review-sonic-unleashed-112928.phtml#ext I haven't played it yet, but according to this, the Game (360 version) varies from amazing to rubbish. Verdict: Delicious Chocolate cake with a bag of nails baked in... I guess I'll pick it up as a rental..
  10. 1. Check to make sure you have all the necessary drivers and such installed for your system and try reinstalling them or setting things to defaults. Some random sensitivity setting or something might have been set... Is there a calibration feature for the tablet? 2. Ubuntu installs all of the GRUB (bootloader) files into MBR and a seperate tiny partition (/boot). doing what cyborg_ar said will fix that, but you'll still have to find and delete the tiny partiton (unless ubuntu's doing something non standard) In Vista's case, it's fairly easy to let Vista boot into linux rather than using Grub, but that's irrelevant now... 3. 2 shouldn't be the case as I've seen dual boot installs of Vista/Ubuntu (and other *nix) work just fine, but if all else fails reinstall Windows. If you can't get SP1, it might be easier to install with a fresh Vista install... Possibly there's something bad running around your system preventing security updates and such... Virus maybe?
  11. A few friends of mine with PS-triples were talking about this game while we were waiting for an early morning Q train... Apparantly, they said its an extremely fun game with probably the most content time of this generation... One guy's been playing everything including the optional stuff and already took around 68-70 hours with a lot more of the main quest to go... I'll have to play it sometime... and it's a pity I missed that great PS3 deal on Woot the other day during the wootoff...
  12. I guess I'll at least try renting the game... Next week, hopefully there'll be some 360 versions lying around... Though a few friends acquired the Wii version and were playing it last friday, but I missed that... I"ll see if anyone's playing it during the week...
  13. http://wii.ign.com/articles/931/931596p1.html IGN review up... 7.2... about on part with Secret Rings I suppose... Hopefully the 360 one fares better? Though that would mean that Sonic Team did better than DIMPS... Hm..
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H246FhwXO6s Based on all of Sega's "THIS IS THE SONIC GAME TO PLAY" This video seems fitting in some odd way...
  15. As long as you can play Whack a Mole with Amy I'm fine... Then again, I don't remember if I even liked that minigame...
  16. Uh oh... Looks like someone at SEGA's not happy... http://www.destructoid.com/sonic-unleashed-delayed-in-japan-on-track-in-us--110996.phtml
  17. Yeah, the IRC was pretty cool... Should be nice to get it back up for about a month or so, since that's about how long it will hold our interest... IRC ADD...
  18. Where were you guys two pages ago?
  19. Intro *edit*Fixed Gameplay/ In game Cutscene Other Gameplay:: Trailer that I think we all saw... not sure... Get it while Sega doesn't realize that the files can be uploaded under ridiculous names... Again, beautiful game... Seems to be the first time Sonic Team really put effort into a game's visuals since the Dreamcast days... I'm really hoping Destructoid is right that it's fun... Either way, just by looking at the motion, it's already 1000 times better than 2006... It's just a few days away... If it's good, I'll pick it up for 360... No sense in meplaying it on the Wii, despite the fact that even if it's bad, it'll still be the best game the Wii has seen since the homebrew channel...
  20. That trailer was probably the best quality animation I've seen Sega ever even imagine to create... Also, I like the seemingly less serious and playful cutscenes... Seems that's the way it should be actually... Jim Sterling's still saying the game is fun, and it requires effort to make the game look all press rightish... I'm going to take his word for it since he seems to usually know what he's talking about... And yeah, it's a pretty game... One of the better looking games I've seen this gen... Yes, I'm not a fan of the dark and brown and grey...
  21. Zomg! Doomsday project looks awesome! The way you did that camera there is just beautiful...
  22. Yeah, it's mostly CD Audio, and secret messages from Dave Perry depending on how well you beat the game (two endings, easy/normal, and hard)... I want the soundtrack mainly for two tracks: Buttville and What the Heck? (though that one's much better in game...) I think the Peter Puppy stage theme was good to, but I can't remember... I was about to say compression but I just realized that its not likely you can compress 3 CDs down into 1... Not without some voodoo magic, or the power of teamwork/friendship (whatever lame groan inducing line Sonic Heroes used)
  23. http://www.destructoid.com/good-old-games-goes-public-drm-haters-rejoice-108996.phtml&?no_cache=1&comment_saved=1#comment-982146 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/ Pretty cool I think... They're offering some great old games at decent prices complete with no DRM, and in some cases, downloads of the game soundrack and manual for free after purchase... The best deal there I see is Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 together for $5.99, since those were some of my favorite games back in the day and I've been meaning to play them again... Sure, there are other ways of acquisition, but I think this is a pretty cool concept of not treating customers in the most assholish way possible EA... What do you guys think? Yes, I'll be buying EWJ as soon as I get off of work and back to school and let you know how that process is...
  24. Funny you say that... http://thedailywtf.com/Articles/Anatomii-of-a-Hack.aspx
