  1. q6600 2.4ghz

    2gb DDR2

    Starting: 80

    1st CC: 35

    After 1st CC: 75

    2nd CC: 35

    After 2nd: 70

i liked the way sonic went faster himself though, the way he was able to run all the way around the massive loop, can't wait to see this used in a proper level

i also accidentally found a bug with your collisions when operating at high speeds. i was running down the left wall in CC, when jump, as i was going so fast, i went far enough to go through the right wall, when sonic froze in his idle animation, and was forced out of the wall upwards off the screen

EDIT: tried jumping from the right wall too, same thing : bugsy2.png

  2. ...what? of course he doesn't, we're just suggesting ways he can improve it. nobody has to listen to any advice given, but it sometimes helps. the fact pretty much everyone has suggested that change since he's shown it to the public would make you think he would have done something about it by now...

  3. that's looks cool sockman, kinda cheese like, which makes sense as it would capture air bubbles while cooling etc... whatever, it's fine. the only issue is if it was cooled magma, it wouldn't be red hot like that and still have grass growing on it, so i'd either make it more grey (more cooled), or swap out the grass, but apart from being 'unrealistic' it looks fine

  4. is GM capable of loading .tga's with alpha channels already in them and use the transparency? or do they have to be separate layers such as here? i don't really know much about the technical side, but i've noticed it doing texture work for mods and was wondering whether it can be applied to GM too

  5. i really couldn't be bothered to read all of that, but from skimming i see you brought up most of the general quibbles people had with the game. i found you had to approach the game in a particular way to enjoy it. if you went through thinking, ok now i need to do this and this and this to get to the next thing so i can do the next assassination etc... then the missions and stuff do drag on a bit. however, for my first play through i made sure i went through and explored everything, and did every mission, and it was loads of fun. even better on the 360, as there are achievements which give you extra objectives. i will admit i haven't gone back to find all the sodding flags, but without a guide its an exercise in futility, and using one defeats the entire point of enjoying it in your own time.

so kinda what i'm saying in an extremely drawn out manner is the game is only what you make of it, like the combat, sure you can sit there and reverse everyone and win in 5 seconds, but it's more fun to mix it up a bit using all of your moves, perhaps not killing all the guards, breaking off mid-fight then letting them chase you, or try to fight using only your hidden blade, stuff like that. also playing with everything on the HUD apart from the minim map (since you need that to get anywhere) disabled makes it much more immersive and prettier, since you get a visual cue when your life is low anyway

  6. i've got 2+3 of the new pop series. emocity and RRAAGGGEE aside, the 2nd game was good, but the 3rd one seemed a bit short and more linear for some reason, although, you only get to choose your path once in the 2nd. Still, i preffeed the tone of the 3rd one, and it seemed to flow alot better overll, except for that bloody boos fight were you fight 2 guys at once. it wouldn't have been so bad if there was a save before it, but you had todo the sodding chariot bit again if you switched off =(. i started the 1st one a while back, but after the first combat with sand monsters i got a bit bored of it. may try it again though.

got GoW2 yesturday anyway, can't wait to whack it in my PS2, i'm totally stoked. have you guys seen this trailer? it's badass:

nobody would happen to know where i could find the generic action movie trialer music that plays near the end of it, would you?

  7. Yes because its a sin to want to make money.

i understand that, and i guess i am getting a bit too angry about it, but they could be a little more tactful about it. i mean, how are you even supposed to hold that thing like a guitar? might aswell call it 'tumerous growth on the side of your DS hero', but i guess that isn't as catchy

  8. yeah, i was looking at DMC. i hear 2 is the dirge of the series, so i'll probably pickup 3+4 at least. i tried a demo of DMC4 though, and it didn't feel as natural as GoW, alot more clunkly and, hmm, repetative? i realise thats probably a really bad word to descibe it as, but i felt i had to use certain combos and moves in order to do any damage, and that the guns were worthless extras, whereas i like being able to be a bit creative in my summary executions. and the boss was really hard, but that series has a habit of handing your ass to you on a silver platter i hear. i did consider crisis core, but it seemed pretty mediocre from various previews, but i guess if i 'obtain' it, it wouldn't be so bad.

i hear ninja gaiden works on BC for the 360, so i may look into that

  9. ok, i've just hacked, slashed an viscerally decapitated my way through chains of olympus and the 1st game on god mode, and am about togo through the 2nd game, however, i'm am fearing for having once worn these to a frazzle, how ever will i sate my blood lust?

in lamans terms, does anyone have any reccomendations for decent 3rd person hack n' slash action games for pretty much any platform which isn't the PS3 or Wii? I don't mind how old and shitty the graphics are, it's mainly the fluidity of gameplay i'm concerned about. i've probably just inadvertantly asked someone to fetch the holy grail, but i was wondering whether there were any obscure ones i hadn't heard of before. I'm considering picking up a copy of dynasty warriors from a bargin bin to keep my going in the mean time, but it's hardly the hieght of it's genre.

    any ideas?

i've got my eye on too human, but that isn't out for a while, so...

  10. grow some balls, play right handed like a real man.

but seriously, isn't the whole point of guitar hero supposed to be it's simulating playing a real guitar? how is that supposed to be playing a guitar in any shape or form? they might as well made a rythym game using the touch screen, rather than going through all the trouble of making a pointless peripheral and slapping 'guitar hero' on it and making loads of money of dribbling idoits who think it's a great idea. oh wait

  11. MGS1 was fine on the gamecube, 2 was alright, but 3 is the only one worth playing on a regular basis. i never picked up subsistance, but the camera + controls on the PSP one were really tight, so i'm guessing it would be considerably more fun to play with a non-retarded camera
