  1. Hi, welcome to my art topic. I've been getting into sketching lately, it's been really enjoyable. I do it 100% digitally, with my graphics tablet and photoshop. I've left the construction lines on so you can see my line of thought. With the sketches I spend about 10 to 15 minutes on each one, and usually I don't come back and edit it. So bear with some of the obvious mistakes. Anyway, to start off with a sketch of a guy with a laptop: I messed up the legs. I, however, like the glasses. And what the hell happened with one of the wheels on the chair?? We'll never know. A girl. I cannot draw females. What do you think looks wrong with this picture? Finally, here's a little comic I did. May, or may not make it into a webcomic. I'm really proud of it, especially the electric effect. I don't, however, like the expression in the last panel. I'm gonna redo that.
  2. Just as good as this one: http://maytricks.ytmnd.com/ - The Matrix Return
  3. MMF 2 does not need any DLLs, everything is packed in the exe.
  4. I was afraid I'd see another green sonic in this topic, but no, this is pretty cool. The drawings have a nice style, and would look good coloured. Do some other animation sprites for him, that's where the skill lies (IMO).
  5. For an isometrical game, I always put the hotspot at the persons feet.
  6. That was fun! I really liked the custom backgrounds, really nice. Thanks Slingerland.
  7. Sorry, you missed at least 5 exclamation points on that.
  8. Unless I am mistaken, the first 3 in that list were identical back when the games were really, really fun. Ie: Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I think Sega were pretty imaginative when they thought up loops, spindash etc. That's my opinion anyway.
  9. Yeah, people from other forums are now posting messages from their wii with the trial version of Opera. Seems pretty cool actually, the way you can type by point and click. How quickly can you 'type' with it? 20 wpm?
  10. Put through a russian translator: But I agree with TRD here, he does have imagination, I've played his game, his levels are fun. I enjoyed them. The name of the game is not important.
  11. Oh, I see, and I am sorry. I only watched the video and read your post, and from the way you said that you have almost finished the engine I guess I jumped to conclusions. Aside from all that, it's looking good. You may want to edit Clwe's engine because it isn't true isometric, really it should be 2,1 not 2,2 scale for the tiles. Oh, and the shooting looks good as well.
  12. Heh, that engine is not yours, it's Clwe's, which you can download here: http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=5172 Please don't rip off other people's work without giving credit. It's also a bit buggy.
  13. Blaze, that looks very awesome. I say keep the foggy mist, it looks good. I also like the spotlight effect. Nice!
  14. After trying the game, and getting launched out of the map by a spring, it's pretty poor. The movement is a bit buggy and wall jumping sends you through the roof. Then again, it really wasn't awful, it has more chance of being finished than most around here. Things you will need to work on to make it acceptable: Implement a static engine. Really not hard, just follow a tut on the main site, this can also fix up your wall jump easily. Maybe add some ring loss, and add some badnicks that don't just move backwards and forwards. Oh and lower the screen size. Not good, but not bad really.
  15. To find the X and the Y between to objects, just subtract one objects X from another objects X, and do the same with the Y, and use Pythag to find the distance. How you do that with the OpenGL object I don't know, because i suspect that there is something to do with the Z axis. You better query Dobermann for that.
  16. Pirate cat is awesome, along with otter with soup.
  17. Very impressive. I love the look of the sprites. If you have a demo or anything I'd love to have a go.
  18. Looks incrediable, please tell me more...
  19. Because he is banned. Banned users cannot post. You are posting for him, so in a sense he is ban avoiding.
  20. Give that he can make an amazing game like that, i think he knows how to operate a simple edit box...
  21. Fun, the original graphics are good. My only problem with it is that it's very simple, maybe a few gimics would be nice. Oh, and jumping when a platform is falling is very ineffective. I enjoyed 10 minutes of run and jump, nice work!
  22. Try creating one active object that covers the playing area. Have it NOT follow the frame. Make the active object completely black and then lower the transparency to suit your needs. That's one simple way to do it.
  23. Erm, I think he means generally. As in, all the time. Plus, having stinking wordart in your signature helps that view along nicely. I hope to listen in on the Holiday Special.
