  1. I know that most of the folks that I talk to outside the forum on a daily basis (and/or friends with on Facebook) are graduating college this year/are graduating within the next year or two and it's going to be a weird feeling coming to these forums no longer a student. Don't ask me why I think that... I just think it will. So, what's everybody's plans? I've assembled a large portfolio and resume here at Nebraska. I've made a plan to work on mid-to-low budget, independent feature films across the midwest all summer, making triple digits a day. I have consistent work through July. I plan to save up all that money, so that I can make my move to LA and live comfortably for a while. I expect to not have work for a little bit due the LA film economy being in the tank right now. Everybody's going on-location to save money these days (but production in LA is up 17% this year, so there's some optimism). I have my own production audio equipment and won an entire post-production audio setup from an Avid/ProTools competition, so I hope that I'll be in high demand as a result. People who are hiring love those who operate their own equipment (it saves money if you can rent equipment from your hired operator). Nobody wants to do audio too, so I've been told that I'll be popular pretty quickly. It's not a very glamorous job, but it pays well. I'm surprised that it's such a shallow department, people wise. Bad audio ruins any film. I have to wait until TV pilot season if I want the big job. Currently, I'm a student about to graduate in May, working on six student films as the sound guy. I have a full-time job doing the sound for a TV pilot called "Vipers." I'm up at all hours of the day with the semester wrapping up. We hope "Vipers" gets picked up by the interested parties at NBC or CBS. If that's the case, then a lot of us here at Nebraska are guaranteed work through the first season, since many of us got on the pilot last summer as students. If that doesn't get picked up, at least I have a TV pilot on my reel and portfolio. It would only be a matter of time after that. Do any of you guys live in or around Los Angeles? I'd love to hang with anybody who's out there. Let's have a BBQ on my roof. SEGA of America have asked me to join up for a community day in the future and I'd love to hang with RubyEclipse, a fellow Missourian. I'll be bouncing to New York a few times in the next few years as well, as I'm on a few more pilots there. So, yeah, what's everybody going to be up to in a few weeks/months/years? Will our career paths cross at some point? Even if you're not graduating college, what's up, maaaan? I know that Worm is kicking ass in the army and that's about it. Haha...
  2. i dont want to buy the black version because it will be violent and demeaning to women
  3. I just want them to improve the sound design. The calls of the older Pokemon are incredibly dated and ugly. If they don't improve, I will be really disappointed in Nintendo.
  4. Man, that is some mean shit. I like that. Stop heckling P3DRO about his game never getting done. Hmm... I have a way that I can fix this... doo doo dooooo... nothing to see here!
  5. Here's your warning, kid: Make coherent posts. I cannot make heads or tails of what you're trying to say and this post is your worst by far. I'm not being anal or anything... I just want to understand everybody.
  6. Who the fuck are you? We curse all the time. Shit. Stop asking if the game is done and learn some better English, too. We can barely understand you most of the time. You get mad rep for this one. I laughed so hard. Well said. So, P3DRO, what exactly is that mock-up idea up there? A challenge mode or something?
  7. That's because it became the only forum that people posted in.
  8. What grudge? I don't like him because he's a douchebag. He has never done anything to me, but I think that the shit he does and says is beyond retarded. Someone brought up Clwe. Man, I miss that guy. He gave me so much help during SAGE 2006 and made all these improvements to that original Nexus demo. Real cool cat, he was.
  9. ...And they're in big trouble. Also, Tristan's dumb ass is probably in the most trouble, since everybody at SOA and SOE already hates him. He's not enforcing his new sensitivity guidelines, haha. SOA people and I rip on him all the time. I heard rumors of the SOA site becoming TSSZ tomorrow for April Fools, followed by a take-down of the site. Sounds like a great day.
  10. SEGA's making their rounds and letting C&Ds fly. They've asked me to help police the posting of new links, so yeah... don't post new leaked things anymore. That's all. They're pretty pissed that this "infinity" dude is posting the whole game. I think he's about to upload Lost Labyrinth.
  11. Still no description for your videos, wes? "90s Gaming is Very Cool." This is an old VHS video game show called "Fuse" from the N64/PlayStation era: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3_pnuZhpIg
  12. I wish the tracks would use different instrumentation. Each one uses the same synths, same Genesis percussion samples, and same generic flair. In other words: they're mad lame. I bet if somebody re-arranges them into something like that rock remix or the 16-bit remix, the song will find a way to become catchy. Jun's killin' his own work with his repetitive and shitty choice of instruments.
  13. He hasn't posted in a while and it has been amazing. Don't jinx it by mentioning him. JEV3 only shows up during SAGE and he has said so many times over at the Stadium. He doesn't hold a lot of respect for this place outside SAGE because nobody makes games around here apparently.
  14. Boss theme 1 sounds way too comical for a boss... I would love these songs if the choice of instruments didn't bother me so much.
  15. Yes, I need to be loved. Love me. Love me, oh internet forum. Shut the fuck up. You know that we're not trying to win affection points with anybody. Nice try. I like how you assume that it was just one report. It was multiple reports on multiple posts. We aren't on the beck and call of reports, because, uh... we never get any reports. When we get multiple ones, it's like... "what the fuck is going on nothing happens at sfghq." How about you refrain from typing when you don't know shit? "Man the fuck up?" What does that even mean in this situation? So, if I let somebody do what he wants just because he has "tenure," then I'm a total man? That doesn't make any sense. It took you a half-dozen passive-aggressive jabs before you got to your point and it wasn't even any good. This thread has run its course. We're going to play Turtles and Andrew is full of shit. Sounds like a good ending to me. Hopefully, I go back to doing nothing admin wise.
  16. I don't get this split either. Rael and I have explained what happened at least 10 times and yet, people continue to claim that we are Nazis or micro-managers. That's not the case at all and if you can't see that, then I'd recommend that you don't post on the subject anymore. I'll reiterate: I didn't want Streak to go either. We tried to talk him out of it, but there's a fine line between being buds and doing what we're supposed to do here. He stepped over it. He openly admitted that he did so and that he would become a habitual line-stepper unless we took him out. If you have any reasonable questions about the situation, ask away (I doubt that there's anything left to ask). Want more chat logs? Fine. If you want to celebrate Streak's banning, then we'll delete your post because you're not helping. This is not the place to do that.
  17. Lol. That's why when I said "I miss SC," it was in all lowercase and shit.
  18. Do you have something to say or are you going to just be a passive-aggressive tool about it? This forum is probably the loosest in terms of keeping threads on track, but when posts get reported, then somebody has to do something. From the sound of it, it looks like you don't even want moderators at all. I tried talking him down on AIM before both bans. He could have stopped what he was doing, but he insisted that he would keep doing it on both occasions. He said, "I'm going to keep doing it, so just ban me. Why are you trying to reason with me? Just ban me. DO IT DO IT DO IT." Where he is right now is his fault and shouldn't reflect on any of us. If he wants out, he can have out, but he should grow up, stop being so immature, and own his mistakes.
  19. i miss suspended chaos he was a kool dood his static engine tutorial got me started
  20. Well, I talked to him before his 3-day ban about reported posts regarding his "lol nerds" bit that he uses in every post. Then, he kept doing it, so he got the 3-day to show that we aren't going to let a member do that just because he or she is an "oldbie" or a "regular." When he came back, he kept doing it and was super fucking butthurt about it ("best believe" was the term he used when asked if he was angry about the temp). When I went to go talk to him to get him to stop, he just told me to permanent ban him over and over until he got it. It was about a 10-minute conversation of just "ban me because I'm just going to keep doing it. DO IT DO IT DO IT. BAN BAN BAN." I kept asking why he has to be a doucher in every post, but he just said that he will keep doing it. "Ban me ban me ban me." So, we did. This isn't a big deal and the whole "forum going down the shitter" talk better be kidding around. If you think that getting rid of a member who had it out to be a pest in every single post he made makes the forum worse, then you have a fucked up way of thinking.
  21. We went to ask him what his deal was on AIM and he just said "permanent ban me DO IT DO IT DO IT" over and over. No joke.
  22. One day, we found TLSPRWR in Worm's SFGHQ Facebook group and we tried to get him to make a sequel to "Sonic's Bible Adventure." Nothin' doin', but it was cool to hear from him again.
