  1. You don't need to make it entirely from scratch. You should get used to mixing and matching and recoloring various background pieces from other Sonic levels to make something that looks original. That's how most of us do it, anyway.

  3. They're clickteam files, you need a program like multimedia fusion to open it. I was pretty sure TRD made spritesheet versions of all the sprites that were in libs... you're not in the tutorials section, are you?
  4. Your emerald is gray because your reputation level is 0. On February 11th, the user Slow Motion de-repped you. You can see that via your user CP. With a rep level of 0 or lower, you can't give or take rep from anybody. I went ahead and set your rep level back to 1 so you can rep people when they help you - which you probably should.

  7. neon red and green dots around the tube? were those the default colors from launch base or did you do that? those colors clash so badly Right now it looks like the tube isn't carved into the blocks but rather that it's pasted over it... you have to play with colors so it doesn't stick out so much. for the inside of the tube use darker blues instead of blacks and grays, I think. Consider the fact that you're pulling this object from a bright day time level. And get rid of the green/red. I really like the way things are looking besides that though, the flipper fits so well now.

  9. I actually think it's pretty cool. The only graphic mixing problem I have is with the HUD... the advance stuff looks out of place. The Adventure styled sprite fits just fine with this, I think. I like the way it's looking. You really really need to change the screen resolution though... the genesis resolution 320x240 would work just fine with these sprites. Believe me when I say you won't be able to make a good game with a huge resolution. once you fix that, I think you're good to go. Looking forward to seeing more! Also, if you want I can clear out some of the arguing in this thread.

  11. I actually don't really have a problem with the motobug badnik, though I'd prefer it if the wheel were smaller so the motobug is lower to the ground... but that's kind of irrelevant. I DO have a problem with the fact that they made a countdown for a 3D model of a badnik we've known since 1991. They're trying to hype us on shit that doesn't matter. Do they have no shame?

  13. Duuude I love the way it's looking. One thing though, the brighter edges of the blocks are way too bright, I'd darken it so it doesn't stick out so much really love the look of it so far though! It's really different from your usual casino type level, probably because it's early evening and that hasn't been done before.

  15. I'm pretty sure I'm the only admin who actually approves new accounts. And sometimes I'm not sure if an account is a bot or not (googling the IP, username, address does nothing, nothing in the profile seems to hint at it) and I just hit accept. But I alway worry I might delete a legitimate user account thinking it's a bot (which has probably happened before), so I try to give the account the benefit of the doubt and approve it, figuring I can always ban it later. But we get over half a dozen bot registrations a day, FYI, so it's nothing new. I just let a couple slip between the cracks over the past week.
  16. I'll admit the parallax complaint may have been a bit much (though I still think it looks bad), I just honestly feel so cheated by the graphic style of this game. Part of me was expecting oldschool Sonic, and we don't have it.
