Wow I totally forgot about that, it would be amazing to relive those "I'm moving so incredibly fast that I can run on top of water" moments in 1080p HD. Plus I wouldn't mind hearing a remix of hydrocity act 2 music (even though I didn't really think the green hill remix was amazing).

Guys I would love to see City Escape remade in this game but if there is only one level in this whole game that has a snowboard it must be this one. But hey if they can some how manage to make the game work with two downhill snowboard levels, I'm perfectly fine. I can almost guarantee that all the levels will have rails in one form or another so why not snowboards. Edit: To all intents and purposes I am assuming ripping parts from a helicopter is considered a "snowboard".

Lol youtuber by the name of SadisticMystic fears no stage from SA2, especially not crazy gadget. However, as much as I'd love crazy gadget in the next game, how in god's name would they ever make that work with the crazy speed in the hedgehog engine?

Just finished the game. That was incredible. It literally multiplies the awesomeness of the original by at least 10. It was still rather short for a full fledged game but (although I haven't played the multiplayer yet) still very satisfying. Chapter 9 was super freakin epic. Just the start of the chapter was like WOAH! Very happy that I purchased.[/happiness] Edit: I really don't wanna pull out specifics details from the game just in case someone hasn't played yet because I don't wanna ruin it for anyone.

I very much think that there will be SA levels because I heard in an interview that sonic would meet up with friends like tails, knuckles, and shadow. This only leaves me to believe that we would meet them in their respective games (tails in s2, knuckles in s3k, and shadow in SA2) By the way, if we get a level in this game that has one of those knuckles being a dick segments (screw you these are my emeralds sonic, or ha you like this carnival sonic well screw you im turning off the lights) I will buy this game at launch.

I second this. Why is it that whenever I see that I think of .On a more related note, the game looks gorgeous. The game appears to control well (however looks can be deceiving). I like the whole "2 different ways to play", it's sure to add replay value to the game. I just hope they don't screw up. Also... ...THEY NEED TO ADD ICE CAP ZONE TO THIS GAME RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!

When I sat down to see the trailer I thought it was gonna be a really crappy announcement. But when I saw classic sonic appear I was all like: I'm happy that sega realizes that classic and modern are two different entities but as many people have said (hey there slingerland =D) there is no gameplay shown, hence the game is definitely probably gonna suck. P.s. I've said it in other places, but I would really appreciate if sega replaces classic sonic with modern sonic in sonic 4 EP II. I know that it won't affect that crappy game but shinny crap is better than regular crap.

The momment is almost here. The 3ds is nintendo's next big handheld which comes out this sunday and I just happen to have enough money to buy it on said date. I'm very much aware that the system lacks a bunch of good launch titles, and that there will probably be a 3DSi super hyper HD remix in a few months, but I got the money so why not? Anyone else adventurous (stupid) enough to join me?

If there was a way I could hug you over the internet I would. This is sonic 4 in my opinion, always will be. I thought it was vaporware. I am happy to hear it's alive (<--Understatement). P.s. I didn't know you worked on this, I thought it was Nitemare, all the more cool.

Many people feel that sonic 2 was the greatest because of the massive nostalgia they get when thinking about/playing of the game. It also helps that the game kicks all sorts of ass, so yeah. However, I personally like sonic cd but....yeah I'm probably alone on that boat. On Sonic 2HD, I don't think the visuals are bad (especially considering it's an alpha version) the only thing that seems odd are the clouds. They ones on top seem rather small. Just nitpicking, not a HUGE deal but whatever.

^^Lol yeah. I am kinda disappointed that their was no alpha release, but whatever I'm sure they'll release it soon enough. I just hate the fact (as mentioned), that they made an epic countdown website only to point to . It's kinda anti-climactic.

Ok guys 1.5 hours left till this thing comes out and I have nothing better to do than wait eagerly till the alpha releases (I hope it releases). I'm pretty sure everyone in the fanbase knows what Sonic2HD is by now but if not this could help. I've been dieing to play a much more developed version of this game and am so glad that it didn't just turn into vaporware. Although, I love a ton of the games that come from the sonic community (time twisted, SFR, Eggman hates furries, axiom, sorry if I didn't name yours their are a ton) I've really been waiting for this one. I like how you incorporated the glowing spheres from sonic and knuckles into your bonus stage. The game looks fantastic altogether and I do hope you finish it.
