  1. Well, here's my level sprites been used in a zone. May be a bit stormy. More will be added later
  2. Hey, not really something to update my thread with but here's a new playable character and zone I'm going to add to Sonic Light and Darkness Feedback is always welcome
  3. So for one of my Uni assignments, I'm required to take 4 characters, put 2 in areas or locations where they wouldn't fit into and redesign/reimagine the other 2 characters in my own drawing style.
  4. @ Jettzu, Betaman, LiBiYKWIM Thanks for the feedback. I took the time to make some adjustments so how about now? @ Jassbec Tell your artist that the pieces are quite good. Also, MrPoetatoebadger's response pretty much sums up what I think so far.
  5. Took another shot at creating Level Tiles. Shadows, Brick variations and props will be added later Feedback/criticism on what to improve?
  6. Out of pure boredom during my break. Not even close to being finished and alot of the lines need to be adjusted and modified. Any feedback + Criticism is welcome Edit: oh and here's the finished version of "Character the Lanky" I posted earlier along with the second character I created. I would have fixed the proportions and clothing folds for both of them but I didn't have the time as I had less than a week to finish both of them and to start my second folio piece. Edit: Should probably create my own Art Thread
  7. The fact that it's taking Chrono Trigger as an inspiration has caught my attention. So basically BTS aftermath gameplay but has been expanded on more with Timetravel and a much deeper story. I did enjoy Aftermath so this should be interesting.

  10. Twas alright. Didn't really follow it so I guess I didn't have any expectations. Besides, for a fanfilm, I suppose that it wasn't too bad or that great. CGI looked...dodgy due to the animations of the models and some of the acting seemed a bit half hearted (Dude that gets interrogated by Robotnik) and the writing didn't interest me that much either.
  11. Guess they ran out of colours. Still, this looks pretty good so far. Another reason for me to buy a 3DS as I always wanted to play a fully 3D Pokemon game
  12. Yeah, so far, I haven't got anything substantial or polished to show either but this is an interesting proposal.
  13. To avoid bumping the actual thread with 1 video, I'll just post it here. Pretty much I'm just looking for feedback on the fluidity of the combat as I'm using DMC as an inspiration for the combat system and I'd rather avoid having it end up like the Werehog's repetitive gameplay.
  14. Well, School is finally over for me and I'm a free man...for now. To celebrate, here are 2 video updates: Also, engine completion has been delay again as I've decided to rebuild some of the mechanics (Super Form, Underwater Values, Homing Attack and Light Dash) due to glitches caused by them.
  15. Yeah, I think the reason would be that I use interpolate colour between pixels to stop the splits since my game's always suffering from drawing errors. GM8 thing, think it was fixed in GM 8.1. Anyway, hopefully the other method works
  16. Hate to ask but how'd you get the trail to curve? Are you using particles or a sprite for it? @SuperBliz: Seeing as you couldn't get my trail to work. What actually happened with my example? Was the trail broken or didn't look good?
  17. You should just make an individual topic for this instead of here as it'll get lost amongst the other pieces of work that gets posted. Screenshots on the otherhand do look pretty good and the idea for your game is promising.

  19. You mean like a consistent blue line from Modern games for homing attack or rolling? If that's what you're after, I can give you coding that I used for mine.

  21. I haven't seen the later vids of Skywind so I can't really judge the RPG elements present.
  22. I have doubts that I've posted this in the right section so, my apologies if thats the case. Anyway, does anyone know of any decent Sonic RPG fan games that have being done right? Finished or unfinished, Action-RPG or Turn-based RPG? I haven't found anything decent with Google as all results were either the Newgrounds game and some RPG maker games that looked pretty generic. The reason I'm asking is because I want to see how others have done theirs so I could avoid possible potholes when I reach later stages of development and to avoid making my game fall into the generic category. I do hope there may be at least some attempts at a Sonic RPG that are decent because there have being heaps and heaps of fangames created over the past 10 - 15 years and there should be something that stands out
  23. From what I interpreted(I hope what I managed to put together is correct. A coop platformer with a competitive race mode & combat system to deal with enemies on the path.), the concept seems ideal for a small original project and it doesn't seem too hard to create with Gamemaker or MMF with a bit of experimenting. If you're still interested in this, try out those programs and see if you can recreate it.
  24. What kind of combat systems have you designed? Hack n Slash? Beat em Up? RTS? Mainly curiosity as I'm attempting to combine a Combo based combat system with my Sonic game(Well, on paper it sounds simple enough).
  25. While the menu looks decent, you should have waited till you had some actual gameplay to show. So far, what is there to talk about besides concepts that may or may not happen?
