  1. Definitely want a Mega Evolution for Typhlosion. 2nd Favourite starter behind Chesnaught. Speaking of Kanga though, I find that Chesnaught is a decent Mega Kanga counter. Rocky Helmet or Spiky shield to cut some of its hp down when it attacks and hit back with a hammer arm.
  2. What about the competitive scene? I'm still getting a kick out of battling other players online. Never know what to expect unless their teams consist of ubers and legendarys.
  3. So for the next Event Pokemon, Celebi...Never seen one ingame and It'll probably spend the rest of its life in my PC box sadly. Still, waiting for a possible Mew event and speculated new Region.
  4. Sonic 1: 14pts Sonic 2: 9pts Sonic CD: 11pts Sonic 3: 11pts Sonic & Knuckles: 12pts Sonic Adventure: 11pts Sonic Adventure 2: 23pts [-1] Sonic Heroes: 14pts Sonic Unleashed: 14pts [+1] Sonic Colours: 16pts Sonic Generations: 18pts Sonic Lost World : 5pts The fanbase spoke so so SO highly of SA2. When i finally got ahold of it, I was severily disappointed. Never grew up with it so nostalgia isn't working in SA2's favour in my case.
  5. Out of all my videos, one of the oldest on my channel gets a copyright notice and its for a small part of a song that appears for less than a minute. Top stuff youtube, keep it up. You guys do know whats best for your site and your automated content identifier works like a charm...

To be fair though, the video that was flagged is pretty meh in terms of quality and the footage shows how shit my fangame once looked.

  6. Y'know, I could use some more Friend Safari's. My Friend Code is 0361 - 7253 - 3935. My Friend Safari has Dark Pokemon. Inkay, Nuzleaf and Cacturne. Also, anyone here who has Frogadiers, Vulpix or Pikachu in their friend safari's?
  7. Not really something thats too exciting but I finally managed to track down the root of all slowdown in my game. Turns out that I overlooked how many rings there are throughout the levels so I left them out of object deactivation resulting in tons of slowdown. Now that they do deactivate when they are out of the deactivation region, even the levels with a shit-ton of objects runs at a smooth 55—60 fps instead of 35-50 frames on my current rig. Obviously results will vary but still, it should run faster regardless now. But yeah because of this, I’ll most likely go against what I said yet again about releasing another engine test and post another demo so others can play my game without the slowdown. Pretty much an apology to those who couldn’t play the SAGE demo at full speed and suffered from horribly slow gameplay. Oh and I've decided to increase the screensize to make it easier for players and I've tweaked character physics so that Sonic doesn't accelerate as quickly & his top speed has being reduced. To be honest, this update is really also just to show that my project is still alive. : / No matter
  8. Love the new theme. Feels just like a few days ago.
  9. Well...now that the community is more lively, maybe I should begin work on my projects again

You should've seen SFGHQ before the merge, it was getting desolate

Good to hear you made some awesome stuff.

  10. Completely forgot about the rep system. Still, the changes and reorganisation are welcome.
  11. Sounds interesting. If only I had something to show off but like SAGE, the latest build is too similar to last years demo and I've lost motivation to work on it at the moment. Still, I'll keep my eye out for more confirmed titles.
  12. The fact that you don't have screenshots means that your game didn't need a thread yet. You should post more then just text describing what you have planned and tbh, all the things you listed aren't that new for official or fan games. While I will acknowledge that you are building the engine from scratch, you need to sell more than text and a release time. Some Original Level art, Screenshots, gameplay footage, anything.
  13. Actually, I'll rephrase that. Modern Dimps experience. I actually forgot that the Sonic Advances and Colors DS weren't that bad. Still, the aspects that many fans criticise about modern Dimps games are present here. Tons of bottomless pits, Springs galore and the abuse of dash rings and speed boosters.
  14. Unless you guys already knew, stay away from the 3DS version as It suffers from the traditional Dimps experience/Very unpleasant... The levels that were on the Pax demo were probably the better levels the game had to offer because after that, the game becomes a typical Dimps game with the slippery controls, stupid gyroscope gimmicks, and standard Dimps level design filled to the brim with springs and the often occasion speed booster. Super Sonic is obtainable but the effort to get him is tedious due to the annoying gyroscope controled special stages + He is not built for these stages as I found my self falling into the numerous bottomless pits due to the amount of speed I built up(without the run button being held. Like playing as Super Sonic in SA's Windy Valley and flying off the map at extreme speeds. I will say though that there are still the occasional decent moments where I'm enjoying myself like the funny cutscenes(that are horribly compress) that are presented before almost every stage, the snowboarding section in Frozen Factory or successfully navigating through a level with parkour but alot of the time, I was almost tempted to wreck my 3DS. Not sure about the Wii U version but it looks like it handles better. And tbh, I would prefer they went back to the Unleashed formula for another game or so before they retired it. Also Regarding the IGN review: I think there was a similar incident with IGN and the wonderful 101. The reviewer didn't understand the mechanics or how to play the game properly so he rated it average. : / Might be wrong here. Someone can confirm it if they want. And back to Pokemon
  15. If you are trying to add basic Sonic Physics, Refer to this for a basic outline: http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Physics_Guide How you program it in gamemaker, I can't help you on that. If need be, refer to some of the Sonic Gamemaker engines for reference. Otherwise if you are going for a engine that just has standard slopes, look up threads in the GMC (I'm assuming thats Gamemaker due to the default grey background) on basic slopes movement.
  16. I'd love to submit my game to SAGE this year but unfortunately, the current build is almost identical to the demo I submitted last year in terms of levels and presentation. Unless I can find the time and effort to complete the rest of the core mechanics, clean up all the major bugs and add some story elements then maybe...
  17. Haven't released anything for this in a while so here's what I've got up to this point. Has everything the last video mentioned Update: http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/games/219041-sonic-3d-special-stages http://www.mediafire.com/download/6w71q8bf17cg5sg/Update.rar Note:I pretty much know about the camera clipping and Sonic getting stuck on wall, I'm still trying to fix those. Controls are the same: A to jump, S to roll, D to bounce, Q & E to quickstep, Pageup & PageDown to scroll through levels. Wall of Text:
  18. Tbh, the Sonic Advances didn't have much of a storyline and they wasn't really any continuity between the stories of the games. If you are going to continue Sonic Advance's storyline, try to keep it simple as the Sonic Advance series followed the Genesis games in terms of story and progression. In terms of gameplay, I'll just have to wait for that gameplay video since there's not much to go by except what you mentioned. Afterall, the functionality of the engine you are using sounds interesting.
  19. Finally got around to redoing my game's HUD. I'll make some adjustments to it later on. More so on the shape and on the colours Oh and I forgot about SAGE. Haven't got anything for it : S
  20. Well, the 3DS version of Sonic Lost World was at PAX today. Same demo that was at E3 with the 3 levels. HD version was absent but it will probably appear later on. Tbh, the game did surprise me a bit. The gameplay is solid and fun but I am still prefer the Unleashed formula.
  21. Video Update: Woooooo What I have in this video: Sonic CD styled Special Stage Sonic Advance 2 styled Special Stage 3D Platformer movement Basic Sonic Abilities(Ring loss, Spin Dash, Rolling) Basic Enemies + Zero Robot from Sonic Advance 2 Various HUD styles for the Special Stages Rainbow Road test
  22. Haven't played ATS yet so I have no idea which level(Edit: Derp, the first level. My bad) that is and also, I don't have the graphics nor Lakes permission to use his graphics. When I release the engine though, feel free to try it out as I'm only using this for the Special Stages for my other project.
  23. I can actually. Depends though on which method I use though. Paths which mean the opponents will follow path around the track everytime which would be easier or an Ai that moves around the track by itself. Edit: Forgot to say though that Racer Ai's will be made later on. I still have to finish building the core mechanics before I make side additions
  24. @ Andrew75: Nope but I do want to learn Unreal Script as the Unreal engine is amazing. Since this was built with Gamemaker, I can assume that they won't be that similar anyway. @ TheJeli: I'll release this open source once I fixed the numerous bugs and add more features. I have somewhat fixed the Platform bug meaning that this could be used for platform games as well to some degree. Edit: Also since Kart racer and Sonic R have being brought up, heres a little something I did a few minutes ago.
