  3. Nice. Your game is impressive. The only part I dislike is the Title banner when you start an act; it's kind of bland and MSPaint-like compared to everything else. The rest is cool however!

  6. On his texture, make sure the whites in Sonic's eyes and shoe buckle aren't pure white, make them a teensy bit darker. Despite never working with 3D games before I recognise the problem from some 2D spritesheets. Also lovely graphics.
  7. Okay so Sonic Genesis is nearing its first SAGE and I want to be ready for the occasion. Only two things left, of which one I cannot do for some reason. Flicky movement. How can you accurately remake the flicky movement from the originals? While the small woodland creatures' movement will be easy to code, I cannot understand how flickies moved. Could somebody please help me? =/
  8. I have been countered, P3DRO. Sorry for not noticing your fangame. I was basing it upon the Blitzsonic Sonic and the Sonic R/Jam model. =( In any case, I was probably a bit too harsh. But I can't find any arguments for or against my previous reasoning today; so I'll just leave this topic until something new arises. In any case I like what I see in the first few pages (except for an endless well of characters =P )
  9. I have had a respectively good day. It is just that I disagree with the very notion of turning a classic Sonic sprite into a Modern Sonic one. I don't like how you just act like I'm a troll. I'm just giving opinion; since nobody else except Overbound has given criticisim, I decided also to give such. But I suppose I should be constructive, to even things out. First things first? Harness your spriting skills into a slightly modern-classic mix - Maybe quills a bit longer, green eyes, but short legs and big hands. That would be a mix that isn't so bad on the eyes. Second: The sprite you made is only bad because it's based upon a thing that does not work. A thing is only as good as the concept it's based upon; get a better concept and you'll have a better product, if you can do it.
  10. Man if you wanted it Genesis styled with a hint of Next-gen then that's not the way to do it. That's hardly a hint; it's basically the new Sonic in genesis style. And I must say, it's horrible. You are a good sprite editor. Do not let my comments make you feel bad. You are just blinded by your love of the new Sonic (which is okay in its own right) which just does not work in Genesis style, and leads to things similar to the unfortunately abomination-like hybrid you have unwittingly produced. Genesis Sonic always looks terrible in 3D. Modern Sonic always looks terrible in 2D. Make what of that you will. EDIT: Nice but bland website.

  12. I've almost finished coding the boss! Just a few touchups here and there. But I could release it here and now and there wouldn't be too many problems.

  15. Thanks Overbound! There will be sections in the end of act two maybe, and then later zones that may require it. Besides, the spindash wasn't really nessecary. The Super Peelout wasn't really nessecary. I may think about a gamewide gimmick however. The eyes are the green thing on its chest. It is sorta SMG inspired. =P
  16. Aaaaand nobody has posted yet to talk about his new ability. =( In other news I just coded a new badnik! This will replace the Crabnet, as it is at least ten times more intuitive. I call it... The Shellbeater. If you attack his giant claw arm you will be bounced back like if you hit a bumper. Only if you wait for him to move away and then attack his other side will you hope to defeat him. Or, you know, you could just jump over him. =P It has a funny graphical quirk where whenever it stops and turns around its entire upper torso rotates 180 degrees. Yes I sprited all that. It's much funnier in action however.

Here are my responses to your rules - hopefully you will find them to your liking. =) 1. - I'll actually send you the level and a remix from Youtube that could fit for a general idea. Would that be fine or would you want me to be more specific? 2. - Take all the time in the world. I mean 'on demand' as in saying 'Hey I've almost finished this level mind if you make some music for it at some point in the future?' I'm not very quick at working on levels, so it doesn't matter if you take a while. Three months would be stretching it though =P 3. Of course! I didn't even intend to have a credits section until I came upon this topic, mainly because there would only be 4 names within (Me, you, Overbound and SEGA), but I'm sure I can manage. =) Is that good? I'm mainly worried about my response to your first request. ~toaster1
  19. Beautiful, I love it. Keep up the good work! =) Would you be willing to compose upon demand for fun? I am afraid I cannot offer you anything but respect, but it would be nice if you were a composer for my fangame. Of course this is just an offer. I don't have any ideas or such. It's just an idea; I can make do with remixes if you decline.
  20. Yeah the old one. =P I've almost completed Sonic's new ability! I've thought it would be a good idea if adapted to the 2D world. I've added... the quickstep. It is similar in name only. If you're running fast enough and you press up, you skid for a little bit then turn around, running at full speed. You can use it if you see an enemy or wall-mounted spikes almost too late. Of course there isn't much use for it in the early zones; you've got to wait for things to heat up before it gets required in a lot of situations. No, it is not going to be the main way to play the game. I just wanted to show new ideas in this game, not get it running by nostalgia alone. I don't have any screenshots to show because it doesn't look like anything special unless in motion.

  23. Much simpler idea. if action = action_rolling {image_angle = 0} Although I have no experience with the Revival engine this may help.
