  1. No I played Retro its awesome. But it seems like I've been playing Egg Garden for years... oh I have and Emerald hill I've played a few times since 1992 too. Don't get me wrong its got a great engine too better then XG (MMF duh!). But the XG engine works well and I loved the levels it was just fantastic.
  2. Holy... That was by far the best thing that was or was suposed to be at Sage. Just because its what I do I have to think of something bad to say. This was not easy but I thought of 2 things: I'm not big on the walking animation for Sonic and you slide too fast when getting ready to wall jump. Holy shit that is amazing stuff. ... is that SRB2?
  3. Good design. I may have made an entry myself. But I'm a little tired of those graphics so I couldn't bring myself to do it.

  5. Yeah Slingerland you did an awesome job. I'm so motivated right now I think I'll have Sonic Time Twisted finished for next Sage. Anyway Props... Props...
  6. That last one makes me wonder about Tails sexuality. Exactly why is he spying on Sonic through th window.
  7. There are still way to many badniks. There were so many cheap kills. I got launched off a ramp in act 3 only to be taken out by 3 badniks. There are a bunch of spots where you get launched up a half pipe only to be hit by a badnik. I'd say at least cut the badniks in half. The new part of act 1 "I think" there are a few loops you go around and but you can't grab the rings around the loop. I still think you should get rid of that hit back after you hit the wall. Like I said it was only in Sonic 2 beta for a reason its no good. I'm not a big fan of adding badniks to the boss it seems kinda like a quick fix that really doesn't work well. I would suggest just going back and rethinking that first boss. Also some more gimmicks would be nice I you said you added some but I don't really see any. Unless that hoop that shoots you through is what you are talking about. Gimmicks should be a little more original then that anyway I'd say. The level design still need a major overhaul you added more but you didn't fix what was already there. Overall I would say this is a better then average game that could really turn into a great game.
  8. I won't disagree that I was hard on the game. I try to do that to every game though. Sure its great to hear praise and it feels good when you get it. But it makes a game so much better when people tell you what is wrong with it. I remember my first demo of Sonic Time Twisted gone nailed but I took the problems and made them right. And if you remember last Sage I tied for second in the best of show with Nexus no less (even if a lot of people though it was wrong). IMO all the criticisms I got from the demos is what's making it good. I guess I was just trying to return the favor. Also this game was hyped and hyped and hyped by everyone including the people that made it. While I see nothing wrong with that you best expect to be judged hard if your game is hyped. Last people seem to be looking over the last thing I said in my post. It is the best demo at Sage so far.
  9. Pros +This game actually has level design a feature a lot of games "Forget". I hate water levels like everyone else but I can appreciate the effort that went into this. +Lots of Gimmicks to be had here. +Everything is fairly smooth even if there is a awkward engine bug or two. Cons -That wavy thing maybe its just me but that's in Sonic CD if I remember right. But its not quite as severe a wave if I recall right. I think you over did it a little. -That starfish is damned annoying. -Maybe this is just me because I tend to feel this way through a lot of fan games. However I'm not too big on the design of the badniks. I usually don't like fusion badniks and thats the case here too. They always seem too big. -The crank and the teleport were a little hard to figure out and didn't seem very sonicy to me. Doors in Sonic have always been opened with buttons you can't just change that its MADNESS! Also I like the teleports in Sonic and Knuckles better. Whatever that Zone is that only has the one act. I think they should work like those ones do. All that being said. It takes a gig of ram. There are bugs. But its the best damn thing shown at Sage so far.
  10. I like the ideas behind it you really captured Satam in a game better then any game has in the past even Epoch. I like the rapid pressing space thing but I cannot press it that fast so just slow it down some.

  12. Its a really nice game did you get those graphics from MFZ? The levels seemed to be a bit rushed though because I found a few little areas where I could walk though walls and stuff. What a will say about the level though is aside from a few problem areas I really liked all the levels.
  13. Retro is supposed to soon, and possibly ETCF. But then neither Nexus or XG have released there demos either. I think Nexus is the only one of those that has guaranteed a demo for sure.
  14. I think I told you already but I love this game. I find my self playing it whenever I have a few spare minutes on the PC.
  15. I'm reviewing the level design and switching up a few areas I find weak. Hopefully it will be to your liking. I'm not sure if I will change the foreground or not I want to but its an up hill battle getting this thing to run at 60 FPS. The bugs as far as half pipes and things go are engine bugs I'll see what I can do.
  16. I agree with what Slingerland said basically. Level design needs a lot of work. You should add some gimmicks and get rid of that bounce back after you hit the wall (there is a reason that only in Sonic 2 Beta and not the final). There are spots where you have way too many badniks in one spot I remember a beach spot in act two that was just ridiculous and doesn't look very professional. The springs that shoot you diagonal are very buggy. That green palm tree is horrible too. Its way too green. I also think the ring you chose doesn't match the rest of the game I'd switch to like the Chaotix ring or something. As far a the good stuff which is always nice to hear even if its more helpful to hear the bad. I love the load game screen that's sweet. Sonic, Tails, and Knux heck ya. And of course the music. One last thing behind Nexus and XG? Don't forget about Retro and possibly ETCF.

  20. I hopefully I don't get hated for this topic but I was sort of wondering. To me it seems the last truly great fan game that was completed was Sonic Timed Attack. However since then it seems few fan games have been completed I was just wondering what everyones opinion was on this and other great fan games was after all this time. What comes to mind for me is some of the TGFteam games and MagicgrafX games. I still love that one MagicgrafX demo of just Sonic and Shadow I forget what it was called though. How about some opinions.

  25. It has a weird hum to it cause its the music in the background its not in the sound test by its self anywhere and I'm not very good with filtering it out. So that's the best I can give you I'm sorry.
