      Hopefully that is not the case, cause even if their layouts have issues, they can be fixed. When I make layouts I end up making dozens of changes even after getting the level playable. It's a process and takes time I am totally aware of this. The most important things are they are willing to use the Shitty GM room editor and they are willing to work at it.

To speed up production of Sonic Time Twisted I am looking for another experienced level designer willing design levels in an image editor and port them and lay tiles and solids in Game Maker Studio. This is not the easiest process in the world since Game Maker Studio's level editor blows ass. But if you are willing to be patient, I can assist a qualified candidate in learning to use the room editor. Other qualifications include having skype so you can join the TT chat and be willing to download and use Dropbox. Please make sure you are serious if you want to apply, the position will require a great deal of work for free. Please stay on topic. I am looking for a level designer nothing more.
  3. Way to stay on topic guys. We really need to stop complaining about the platforms people use to make their games it is not productive, at least not here. If its a conversation worth having make a thread out of it, rather than derailing Mercury's topic with complaints. As for us GM users this is will be extremely useful. It would be too much work to convert time twisted to this system, but I'll likely use it for my next project. Do you have a GMC account Mercury? This is worth posting over there I'd say. I can do it for you if you like.

  9. The more I think about it the more I think it would be awesome to have Robotnik playable in SSB. He's always been the best character in the series next to Sonic, even going back as far as AoStH. Plus Mike Pollock would get to work on SSB.
  10. There is some really solid stuff here. I especially like the SSK tracks and Assault on Ocean Base.
  11. After you've finished the completed games I suggest you give some of the demos a chance.   13. You should also consider Sonic Robo Bast 2, Sonic Axiom, Eggman Hates Furries, Sonic Nebulous, and Sonic the Hedgehog Classic. Welcome to the forum.
  14. As I have planned now you will race metal sonic around a race track similar to F-Zero or the original Mario Kart. You will have to avoid obstacles and avoid falling off the track while trying to catch Metal Sonic to hit him. Hitting Metal Sonic 3 times knocks a stone/emerald from him for you to pick up and complete the special stage. As you race around the track your time will be limited either by laps or a count down clock. That's subject to change, since the engine is WIP I'll have to make tweaks as I see what works. What isn't subject to change is how many special stages there will be and how you access them. The special stages are the key purpose to time travel. You can only collect Chaos Emeralds in the future and Time Stones in the past. So you have to travel through time to obtain all Special Stages and thus the good ending. There will be 14 Special Stages, 7 for the past and like wise for the future. That means I'll be introducing a 7th Time Stone into the game much like Sonic 2 added a 7th Chaos Emerald.
  15. The intro cutscene is more or less finished. So I have been working on a special stage engine. Once the special stage engine and save system are complete they'll be nothing to do but build bosses and levels until the game is complete. ^___^
  16. Gotta love Photoshop. When you know how to use all the PS tools like Lake does, building something of this caliper isn't all that difficult. Of course learning Photoshop is the hard part.
  17. This is going to be at SAGExpo? Well that is welcome news for certain. We had a lot of great games last time but I am hoping we get more classic styled fan games next time.
  18. I have been programming the opening cutscene for the game. Here's a screenshot: Most of the art was done by DerZocker in this shot. As a team we have outlined what we want to accomplish for SAGExpo 2014 Act 2.   20. Highwire didn't even play the current version of the game! If you recall it was like 8 am my time I had been up all night working on SAGE and Time Twisted. And you and a bunch of other people were constantly messaging me constantly to open SAGE. That is why the game is a bit rough around the edges and I am well aware of all the things you take issue with.
  21. This is news to me! I'm not changing TIme Twisted just because you dislike a few things about it Alex. I will create the game I want to regardless of what critics say. Offering advice is one thing but pressing issues when developers have already acknowledged your opinion start to get obnoxious. Developers are free to disregard feedback to preserve their artistic vision if they so choose. There seems to be this attitude creeping around that if developers disregard some suggestions their games are considered failures, and frankly it's unproductive.
  22. When I opened this thread I assumed it would be a guide given the name. These are more like Nitpicks that have unraveled into yet another attack on Modern Sonic.
