  1. I KNOW! What is wrong with Sega? He could probably do it for half the cost they paid SKIMPS to make Sonic 4.
  2. Sonic 1 is a lot better with a spin dash. Widescreen is nice too. I haven't played this version of Sonic 1 but I have no complaints about the Sonic CD re release. Plus I've seen that Tax added a lot of great extras to this game like elemental shields, spin dash, and super sonic for starters. I may pick it up at some point.
  3. We reset it because it was not a fair system. Now it's corrected.
  4. I have reorganized the forums a bit to encourage discussions. Reputation has been as been reinstated now everyone gives +1 rep regardless of their rep. The Concept Storm has been unlocked and you are free to post in any of the topics provided you have something intelligent to add. A Youtube BBC Code remember to only add the video id not the entire URL. It was the only way I could get it working. A Sonic the Hedgehog Discussion has opened and I have moved relevant content there, at least anything recent. I encourage you all to have fun using these new features. But remember that posts should be well thought out and not spammy with pictures and irrelevant conversation. Otherwise Duckboy, Seph, and Worm might... well Sena.

  6. We were talking about that yesterday in the Time Twisted chat. The keyboard player for this song is Brad Buxer and he worked with Michael Jackson on Sonic 3.
  7. I've kind of felt that way about the controls in Colors and Generations too DW. For instance in Generations some jumps allow for the trick moves to gain boost while others don't. But trick moves are a triggered event so it just turns on and off without any indication as to when and why.
  8. Moments ago I just finished the tileset for the new Tidal Tubes Zone it's somewhat of a Merger between Tidal Tubes, Perplex Puzzle and some tiles DerZocker was working on. It's really a team effort.
  9. Thanks Pedro. I agree about the 3D effect in fact it's something I plan to do but just haven't gotten to yet. Attraction Attack Past is nearly complete: Just have to layout rings a make some modifications to badniks. I've stopped working on it for a few days to focus my attention on Frigid Fortress Act 1 Past. I've polished off the tiles for it and build about half the layout. I'm putting it in GM tomorrow and I'll give you some screenshots when that happens. DW is also going to be working on some gimmicks for Frigid Fortress Act 1 Past so I'll show them off as soon as they are finished as well. In other news Mecury has agreed to port out the existing time twisted levels into large PNG files which I can use in GMS. I won't be using most of those levels for the main game but they will make for some very interesting extras. Sparks of Sonic Zero fame was kind enough to take Perplex Puzzle off my hands and design the zone. It's going to be a mix of the Perplex Puzzle you see in the 2010 version of Time Twisted and the 2012 version of Sonic Zero's Tidal Tubes. The level will be titled Tidal Tubes now in honor of Sonic Zero and because it makes more sense. And AeroGP has used GMS' new shaders to create some great palette shifting effects. Progress Progress!

  11. Sounds like I'll have a few new Sonic levels to try out. I look forward to it. Unfortunately I doubt I will be ready in time by November with a project of my own.

I do not have Admin permissions to do so though. DW if you read this maybe you could just unlock all the concept storm discussions and move them into one board? That way people can discuss any concepts they want without frivolous game threads in the General Project Discussion or them ending up in the SS thread.
  14. Pedro is right I just got after someone else for this. This kind of stuff belongs in the concept storm. I know it's not the most used place on the forum but there is a reason for that.... People are more interested in games being worked on the theoretical ideas. Besides if we all used other parts of the forum they'd be more active and popular. =P

  16. That's what I thought too. Then I watched this video: and thought wow there are a lot of elements similar to the Genesis games. Speed as a reward, good players skipping sections of levels with cleaver jumping and momentum. IGN just sucks at playing Sonic games I think.

  19. Very cool DaHog. I would recommend you check out some already made Photoshop styles to see other ways you can alter your blending options to make cool effects. Here are a couple of sites that offer layer styles for Photoshop: http://www.brusheezy.com/styles http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/freebies/best-free-photoshop-layer-styles/ Some styles will be in in regular PSD files which you can open in photoshop and see how they are put together. Know that by right clicking a layer you can copy and paste layer styles. Other styles will be in .ASL files most .ASL files will contain more than one style. They need to be loaded into Photoshop's Style Panel (every panel in photoshop can be accessed under the window menu). Once you've got the Style Panel open you can load styles from the little menu with the down arrow and lines next to it. Photoshop even has a lot of built in styles that you can play with from that menu.
  20. Sonic Rush's logo uses bevels and gradients... Actually the bevel look of Sonic Rush's logo might too be a gradient. Either Way you can do this is Photoshop.
  21. I'd suggest not covering up the word Sonic with Boost and maybe giving this some gradients and bevels to make it look a little more professional.
  22. Hey I've joined team: no one cares and we're working on: Quit posting random shit in the forums about your project that are not even off the ground yet. Professionals are barely able to finish games so there is no way you can realistically think you can finish 7. Only post real information about your games please this isn't even your topic DeHog, DramaQueen. If you guys can't use a little self control I'm going to start handing out some month long bans... and I'd really rather not because I always feel like the bad guy when I do. If you make me the bad guy I'm going to be pissed.
  23. I just deleted it because no one was using it and I like having real birthday threads more anyway. If people start making birthday threads for people who don't deserve them we'll just sick Duckboy and Sereph on them. I'm sure they will also be kind enough to let the birthday thread recipients know that their birthdays don't count and they themselves are worthless.
