  1. In short, Yes Having multiple groups of platforms will also help you define a graphics for that particular platform.
  2. Here's how I would go about this in Java. For each different platform you want to make, you need a different object for it, and then you'd code out a chooser for the world generation. So say you got Platform and SpecialPlatform. SpecialPlatform is a group of action platforms that you would create. FallingPlatform, RisingPlatform, etc. "Platform" would be the platform you have now, stable and regular. "Falling Platform" would start to crumble and fall after the player stands on it for X amount of time. "RisingPlatform" would do the opposite of the FallingPlatform. Now the main chooser would choose between generating a Platform and a SpecialPlatform. Now, to pick which Special Platform that would generate, you need another chooser that picks between the RisingPlatform and FallingPlatfrom. You don't want all the Platforms under one chooser because then you would have a possibility of all the Platforms being one type. If you have 2 choosers, you can limit how many SpecialPlatforms generate.
  3. Deebs made a dump/graveyard page on the MdGn Resource site, you can only get to it if you know the address however. My point, I believe your Mighty is up there Xeric. (also long time no see)
  4. I asume so, also I do remember hearing you have to the Parhelion Secret in a certain amount of time a few pages back
  5. My internet has been down for a few days so I've pretty much finished the game minus getting a few special stages and the debug mode unlocked. stuff I've found interesting -BUILDUP: YOU DO IT RIGHT -Level specific Gimmicks: OMG SSpZ Act 1, CCZ Act 2, etc -MUSIC AND STORY: cutscene right before RRZ Act Boss, I think we all know what I'm talking about -HIDDEN GOODIES: -Special Stages: Funniest Special Stages I've played in the history of ever! They also get really easy once you memorize the layout and that they repeat once.
  6. So many spoilers! GAH! WHY DO YOU PEOPLE TRY TO RUIN EVERYTHING FOR ME?! jk, I'm just sad cause I work 40 hours in a 4 day week. Ergo, I don't have a lot of time to play yet ;_; @ChaosLord, if you are curious to find out what the saving problem was, PM me lol, it's funny, yet sad, as hell.
  7. Turns out I was being a derp lol, sorted it out in an Livestream I had going earlier
  8. It was present after I first closed the game, before I noticed any problem what so ever.
  9. Ignoring the spoilers and speculation for a moment, I've seem to have run into a bit of a problem with saving... Does the game have an auto save feature? Or is there something I gotta do in order to save it? Cause I got pretty far, closed the game, and opened it to find my progress wasn't saved... I'm running Windows 8 x64 with an i7 processor, a 4GB GDDR5 graphics card, and 22 GB of DDR3 RAM if it matters. I'll try and experiment when I get home, but for the time being, if any of ya got suggestions, go ahead, I'm listening. EDIT: Oh, and both time I played, I was using a wired 360 controller. My inner IT tech wants me to list EVERYTHING that I had going on.
  10. Appearances are everything, at least that's what I think. Since the map as of this moment seems pretty barren and lacking in some areas, I would suggest taking a look at real world examples of gardens, parks, etc, so you can make a better map. Adding things like bushes, small streams, even some hills can all affect positively how it's perceived. Don't try to tackle everything at once, as I'm sure you know already, it'll just become frustrating. Instead, work in stages: add all of one thing, then another, then another, and so on and so forth. I love the idea of a Chao Garden for PC, keep up the good work man! c:
  11. ActiveX is a framework created by MS in the 90's as means of downloading content from the web via the combination of MS's earlier COM and OLE technologies. xD I have yet to get fully in depth with Flash, but I do know how to work it. Same applies to MMF2, but I really need to play around more before I tackle a project... Work is really hindering me in that aspect. It's nice to see that some people out there really do have a knack for computers and how they work... Since I am a computer tech, this is really nice for a change.
  12. Use a Windows Virtual Machine on a Mac and install Active X and Flash Player to the Virtual Machine. Problem Solved ----------------------------- Also, from what I've been able to tell from messing around with MMF2 (legit copy mind you), that how the cutscenes play is by Lake importing them as an animation, then Lake decides when and where the animation is to be played. MMF2, I'm assuming, requires a copy of the swf to be in the same file as the launcher when it's published, which is why we can access them in the first place. Then again I'm basing this all off of about 2 hours of screwing around with MMF2 and reading a little bit of Lake's tutorial.
  13. Active X is a plugin for Adobe Flash Player, which allows programs to run Flash files without problems and conflictions. Plus with the best/logical choice to open Flash files directly is IE(man that's weird to say), that's how IE is able to play the flash files. What probably is happening with the MAC and Linux users is that they don't have Active X updated or it's just not plain installed. What I think you would do to open the file without IE (cause no one really likes IE) is right click the file, open with > Other/choose default program > More/Other > then find Chrome or Firefox and there ya go. (All that's after installing Adobe Flash and Active X controls of course) Since I don't run OS X or Ubuntu, I can't test that theory or give you the proper tutorial on how to do that properly. Or you could just suck it up and use IE to run the files! q:
  14. Same, but minus the beta and plus Sage '12 AtS and BtS Aftermath. Hell I even run them from a flash drive and they work just fine. I can say that the games work well on XP, 7, and 8.
  15. *cough* *cough* ohey Mecha Sonic! I didn't see you there hiding there! xD I'm guessing that the Mecha Sonic bug has something to do with the version of the engine that Lake used. But anyways, lol ChaosLord, just lol...
  16. Late but useful: Deebs is working on fixing the Malware issue, dunno when it will be fixed.
  17. Quoted from my post in Sonic AtS's topic: Ya... Sorry about that guys No idea how the hell that happened. I'll contact Deebs if any of you haven't already
  18. OFF TOPIC BUT IMPORTANT For those of you Google Chrome users, that block was from my siggy... no idea why or how the Mod Gen Archive has malware on it... Checked with another browser and sure enough, shit's been highjacked. Problem fixed, removed the link to the site in my sig. Carry on.
  19. I was searching for how to spell it but I just gave up xD Thanks lol After taking my AP final today, I now got another period to play this in when it comes out! Also, at Geck: YOU STILL HAVEN'T BEATEN IT YET?! Oo
