  2. Ila already said i'm allowed. Case closed. By "more" I meant better. Critics want more FROM it, not more OF it. That doesn't quite make sense, a better one would be "thats like hiring a new chef(me) to make better food because the original chef(Sega) sucked" Point taken. But without one, wouldn't the fangame get boring, due to me A. Not having a server and B. most people arent gonna cram themselves around a keyboard and play a fangame? No comment It's more like "I agree but I go against it because I cant do anything else except nothing"

I know this, but this area states that you may talk about anything within the rules, and due to this forum breaking the rules of the fangame discussion area, this is the only place I can talk about it. 2.The Critics wanted more from the original one, less annoying music, better storyline, more original, so I'm making the first Sonic Shuffle Fangame, that fixes all the Critics Issues. My game does NOT play like a Mario party game, you can compare my game and the dreamcast game as a Husky and German Sheppard. Sheppards are big and tough and mean, while huskys are smaller and act totally different(mostly hyper and cute and happy), while they still look the same in a few ways.(did that make any sense?) 3.I totally agree with you that nobody should really care, but I made this because I wanted to give info out before I get a demo out.(my intention was to get a bit of info out once or twice a day, until my demo was finished)

  5. I gotta learn how to make models =( this is cool. With a model and maybe me learning a new programming language(all I know is freaken GML and I don't even know it that good) I could turn that sonic colorful game of mine into a true DS remake, with better graphics and smoother sprites... but I got 0 cash and by the time I learn all those things we'll be able to draw infinity with our minds... PS:Sonic's ears look a bit small, try growing em a bit

  8. Thank you for re-opening my thread. I was simply using general as a placeholder until I have a demo, then I was going to make a fangame discussion thread. I don't see how this is spam, since I'm actually talking about something related to Sonic, unlike the Mr. needlemouse thread which is talking about something about soccer and bees,but I'm not saying that general chat is Sonic only. The forum rules say that you can talk about anything, so I thought this would be the only place I could post without breaking rules. I felt that a countdown would be a good way to keep people checking this, and a decent way to get people more likely to post. I try to get as many ideas or compliments or comments I can get, to help my fangame grow to be better. I guess I made this because I wanted to reveal a little info because it's gonna be a while before my demo is done. Also: I do not appreciate you closing my Sonic Colorful thread, I did not request for it to be closed. I simply said that I would like people to stop posting until 8/1/2010, because I will resume progress on that date due to no info being available, so it's impossible for me to show gameplay or screenshots because I dont have enough to make a level, nor add info.

  10. I'll beg for Sonic Shuffle to be one of the ported to PC or for a backwards compattible dreamcast 2... I WANT MY FAVORITE GAME BACK! Seriously, I got a gutted Dreamcast that stinks of my dog's pee(guess WHY I gutted it...).

  12. Hey, I'm new(well, I posted like once a year ago, but I'm just becoming active). I was just reading what the rules said.
  13. What got me the idea of the fangame was a simple sentance from Nintendo Power: It's Sonic Unleashed, minus the werehog. and maybe: No gimmick necessary.

  15. The only idea I had is to draw the arrow in the right x,y coordinate, but I have no clue what the code is. I might as well start the sprite solution...
  16. Game maker has a feature like that, but it wouldn't work anyways. The bar from Sonic Rush is extremely complex. The bar consists of about 10 grey arrows, seperated by a 1 or 2 pixel line of grey. As boost is gained, the bar gains blue arrows, then when it hits the top the blue are overlapped with yellow, then red. Once the red is full, it goes into "overdrive" in which the bar flashes and gives you infinite boost for a short time, then draining depending the time you boosted while in overdrive. due to those triangles, I was hoping somebody could help me by giving with a script or telling me how to make a script that adds the arrows, thus saving me time(and money by switching to geico) and the overall amount of sprites on screen.
  17. I mean very good level design, and well textured graphics. See-saws and etc. arent gimmicks, their objects and not big enough to be a gimmick(for example, is a new boss a gimmick? no. Is a redesigned or slightly changed object a gimmick? no. Is a werehog a gimmick? yes) . Casino levels are pretty much standard now,so you cant even call it a gimmick.
  18. From what I understand, most people think SONIC gimmicks suck(sword and werehog, anyone?). Speed is a main point of a Sonic game's need for skill and fast pace(if you make pacman go 2x faster, wouldnt the hardness and fun go up,but not too much to make it frustrating?). Lots of people enjoy graphics that look real, making it more enjoyable for most. How can you say storyline and level design is a "moot point" when it's one of the most important parts of a Sonic game.

  20. Thanks for telling me, now that I got the main sprites, I just gotta get a HUD worked out, get a basic system for Wisps, and I would be on hold til' theres more screenshots and a high quality gameplay video.

  23. I'm sorry for being a burden, but theres just some things that my head doesnt know how to do. Sonic help is one of the main reasons I joined, and also a place to post my game. I need help finding a simple solution to this hard issue: How in the world am I going to make a Sonic Colors Boost gauge(its basically the same as Sonic Rush games) without 500 sprites involved?!?!?!? The only solution I have is every time my boost value goes up/down, I set the image_index to go up/down the same ammount(making the boost gauge go up/down), then when it hits the top, to switch to a different set of sprites for the max boost animation, then set one for it to empty, then to go back to the original sprite. How do I make a solution which doesn't require me to spend an hour building boost gauges?
