2D Sections Confirmed to Return for Future Main 3D Sonic Titles

It has been confirmed in a new tweet by Morio Kishimoto how Sonic Team do not plan to drop the 2D sections in future 3D Sonic games anytime soon. Instead, Sonic Team is looking to continue to include and work out how 2D sections should be for future 3D titles.

This part has been a very difficult decision. I plan to work out on how the 2D sections of future 3D Sonic games should be.

2D sections were introduced to the 3D titles starting with Sonic Unleashed and have been a prominent mainstay in every 3D title since. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) is the last main title to be entirely in 3D.
