Need Engine

Recommended Posts

I am going to make a game but the engine I need is a bit different. It has the same 360 engine Sonic games have but it has Megaman health bar system. I would like someone to make this type of engine for me (MMF) as I have little programming experience. I know your thinking "Why should I help a lazy idiot?" Well I may be a bit idiot but I'm not lazy, so I'll show I'm worth helping. I have decent layout skills in MMF. And some good spriting skills. Here are some examples of my work:

It's okay to ask for help, it's just that it often gets confused with doing nearly everything for the game. So you want to use a 360 engine, which is available. It seems like all you're looking for is someone who can program a megaman style health bar? That shouldn't be too hard, I'm sure you could get someone to do that. In fact, even with little or no programming experience, this should be easy to learn how to do in MMF. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use MMF, so I can't help you here. However, could you explain what your game is going to be like? At least you have pictures for reference, but it would be nice to know what kind of game your making.

Good luck to you in the future.

Well, it's not really that hard. First, make an animation for the HUD around the bar (IE : In this example shot, you'd make everything except the yellow lines, including the black bars that separate the yellow.)

Now, set that animation so that it follows the playfield.

Finally, make a counter and set it's type as a Vertical Bar. Stretch it so that it fits in the health section of your HUD. Set it to it's maximum value (IE : If it's max value is 10, set the inital value to 10). From there, make events that, if your player is hit, a certain amount is taken away from that counter.

Hope that helps. If you want, I can make you a quick example file...
