Sonic Xtreme: GM

Sonic Xtreme: GM is a game I started making in Game Maker in March 2007, and continued development until August of that year. At that point, I was no longer able to get any further with development, as Game Maker rejected so many things I was needing, like 3D Model collisions. A few days ago I decided to download an addon for Game Maker called Ultimate 3D, and was impressed. I learnt it's basics very quickly and jamp right into making a fangame in it. It's going to be loosely based on Sonic Xtreme, as the title implies. I am needing a 3D modeller however, to do the levels, if you have any experiance, please post here. I have done quite a bit in the past few days, and below is a progress list:

  • (*) Draw Sonic on the screen
  • (*) Basic Sonic Movement
  • (*) Standing image in all directions
  • (23%) Animated Sonic GFX
  • (0%) Level rotation

Completed tasks are marked with a *, those unfinished have a percentage done instead.

I will finish with a screenshot:

Also, could an admin please rename my account to RevivalDBM.

I've actually been toiling around with Ultimate 3D / SDK for a few weeks. I then ran across an open-source 3D modeling & rendering program called Blender, and I'm still trying to get the hang of using it. This is what I am using to create a simple level in. It may take a while to fully understand Blender, but the results are amazing!

Hope that helped!:icon_wink:

I actually use blender sometimes. For a week, I was programming a game in it, but decided not to eventually.
