  1. Hey people! I just finished the version 1 of the remake of Sonic World. Here below some pics and a small video footage. After some feedback, I could track and correct some stuff needed before posting a topic. Unfortunatelly I coudn't go after all issues now. But they will be in list for version 2, with the interiors, missions and some small things that I coudnt do now, since I have some imediate work to do this month and go back to my official project, SSH, that will be footaged still this year and will be in next year Sage with some levels. Everyone can expect something big in this other project, since it is a big headache to make it! If I not go with Sonic World to this Sage, is due to some inexplicable problems to make executables in my PC, I tried everything, formatting, reinstalling UDK, several configs, I must be doing something wrong. Around these parts I'm known as Bartman The Awesome or in simpler terms Bartman814, the leader of Sonic Fan Dev Guild. I have recently joined the Sonic United forums and I'm rather happy to be part of this community =3 So what is this topic about, you might be asking yourself. Well since this is in "Fan Game Showcase" that should give you a hint that I will be telling you about my fan game called Sonic Adventure Emerald. The game started development in December 2011 with the first demo being released in May 2012 with three stages. The next demo, dubbed the "Summer Demo" was released with 3 new stages in August 2012. The most recent demo of the game, the "1 Year Demo" was released on 19th March 2013, adding a new stage totalling up to 7 stages thus far. You can play these versions on my Yoyo games page but bear in mind this is not the 2014 version of the game. The current version of this game started development in August 2013, which happened between a Skype conversation with me and The True Power of Teamwork as he offered to clean up the game a bit. After his part was done I decided to make some of the graphics neater and add elements from the Sonic Fan Dev Engine, the engine Sonic Fan Dev Guild was working on at the time. The game is close to completion as 8 of the 10 stages plus several challenge areas have been completed and a version of SAE will be playable at SAGE 2014 Act 2.   3. Sonic vs Darkness - True Nightmare Revived Powered by Sol Engine V2 on Game Maker 8.0 Introducing a Sonic fan game titled Sonic vs Darkness - True Nightmare Revived created by yours truly. Sonic vs Darkness T.N.R. is a remake of my very first Sonic fan game Sonic vs Darkness, which began as a sprite-animated Sonic series project on YouTube. This fan game features two playable characters Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog, and 7 different stages inspired by the stages from the original fan game. The game will also feature comic-style cut-scenes that appear as you progress through the game. You are also able to purchase power-ups & shields from the Item Shop while in the HUB Area. Like the original version, the gameplay style is inspired by modern Sonic games Sonic Rush and Sonic Unleashed. Including Super Smash Brothers Melee/Brawl (All-Star Mode).   4. Ok before I get into What exactly I have to say, I'd like to take a minute to say I'm loving the resources on this site. It's been real helpful somewhat.I am new to this forum so if I sound a bit unproffesional, my apologies. I have many ideas to create my own Sonic fangame. I've planned out many stories and level lists and finally decided to take action. The problem is, I don't know anything when it comes to scripting, or even sprite make. Awhile back in my middle school days I thought of a fangame idea called 'Sonic Origins'. It was a sort of omage to Sonic 2 and 3 in terms of story, and was planned to have Sonic 3 like gameplay (plus homing attack.) I attempted creating this on a game called LittleBigPlanet 2, as a way to atleast get an idea of how I wanted it to be on a real engine. So far I have everything down but when it comes to actually making the real thing. I need major help. For starters I wanted to make custom sprites for Sonic since he has a modified design. (This was the only good colored picture I had of Sonic's design ) ---> He is wearing more of metalic- like gloves and shoes. Along with a red scouter. This does not mean much in the long run for it is only a cosmetic thing. I was attempting to perhaps add a red patch over Sonic 2 sprites, but I wanted to be authentic and have custom sprites for this project. Tails was also planned to be playable in this project as well. i didn't change anything to his design. But given that Sonic would have new sprites I'd figured he should get some love as well. Other Characters I feel is unnessesary to mention at the moment, but will update if anyone is interested Another thing is a proper engine to work off of. I have a build of Sonic Worlds but not the plugins for the latest version of the engine. I was thinking of resorting back to Game Maker, Anyways a bit more info on my Fangame's story: Dr.Eggman is planning something big. A Mega Death-Egg which instead of using only the master emerald, he will construct it around all of Sky Sanctuary. In order to set his plan into motion. He must find a way to distract Sonic and Tails. He sends out his badniks to cause havok, and also makes a fake Eggman to lead Sonic, Tails and Knuckles on a wild goose chase. This plan backfires immidiatly, for the fake Eggman is destroyed within the 1st Zone of the game. Zone List: Strato Fortress Zone Emerald Isle Zone Cosmic Castle Zone Sand Battery Zone Frost Lake Zone Mega Egg Zone There is also a bonus Special Stage Zone after the main story is complete. So you can play 7 new levels to obtain Chaos Emeralds and Super Sonic. Once all emeralds are collected, Time Attack is opened up, Beating Time Attack missions unlock Super Emeralds. Which give you Super Tails and Hyper Sonic. If you would like more information about the Zones, I'd be glad to respond back when I am able to. Finally as I end this off. I'd like to hear some opinions of what you guys think of my idea. I like to take critisism and use i as a way to better my stories and plans. Thank you very much if you actually decided to read this.
  5. The project is now named: "Sonic 4: Episode ME" ! Storyline concept: After his defeat in the Death Egg MK.II Dr. Robotnik realized his big mistake. He was using an unmobile, huge, slow space station. Now he finally build his greates Station yet. The small but fast Egg Missle is home to his newest Weapon of Mass Destruction: The Egg Laser. To power the Laser Robotnik uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Their power he transmitted into his Mecha Emarald, a robotic copy of the Master Emerald. In order to finally take over the world, Robotnik fled to the Northern Island, an island Sonic has never been to. Sonic arrives half a year after Robotnik, who was almost finished with setting up his great skemes and traps. The game is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Sonic 4 and is set on a different island than any of the games before. I called this island Northern Island. This island is home to 18 Zones, that I'll list here. Zone 1: Egg Missle XS Zone The game begins with: the final battle on Robotnik's Missle? But something ain't quite right with the ol' Doc... Zone 2: Roblimbnik Act 1 This is his flying fortress of the week, equiped with his personal jet, a laser and chicken-artillery. Zone 3: Leaf Plains Zone What would be a Sonic game without a Green-HIll type of level. It's pretty basic, nothing to hard, even the number of death-pits is balanced (yes, only for YOU). It also introduces the "3D-Ramp" from Sonic CD which I used a lot in these layouts. Zone 4: Dusty Desert Zone All abort the uncreative-name train, this'll be a long ride... A simble Wild West based stage. Mostly created to pay homage to both Dust Hill and Desert Dazzle while including elements of Sunset Park. Zone 5: Tidal Ruins Zone The water zone... Based of Aquatic Ruins with a small dose of Water Palace. Everything is round up with a bit of Castlevania: Bloodlines Stage 2 "Atlantis Shrine". Zone 6: Volcanic Mines Zone Imagine Underground Zone, Mystic Cave Zone, Lava Reef Zone Act 1 and Endless Mine Zone in one. This here basiclly comes out. Zone 7: Bright Night Zone Casino Night had the golden design, Casino Paradise the purple one. Casino Night in the beta was pink. I don't know which of the colors I'm going for, but it's still going to be a fully fleged out Casino/Carneval Zone. Zone 8: Frozen Shocked Before burning down Speed City, Robotnik wanted to test his old climate changing Mashine from Mushroom Hill. It apperently works. So tell me what you think and if you'd like to help me creating a game out of these ideas. I'd need a composer and a scipter for SonicWorldsDelta >1.2 If nobody's gonna help, I'll still keep on working with SW0.5 and make more ideas. Edit1-4: Something uninteresting... Edit5: Huge update will be a month or so later than planned... Don't look at me, I'm not happy either... Edit6: Instead of layouts, there are now (sometimes) animated pictures...

  7. Hi, my name's Corey, and I'm new to this forum. I'd like to get people to know me better, so here goes: I've played through Sonic 1, 2, 3, S&K, Sonic CD, Sonic Adventure (1 and 2), and Sonic Heroes. I haven't played any of the more recent games, such as the infamous Sonic '06, Sonic Unleased, Colors, Generations, or Lost World. A lot of people have said that there are Sonic fangames that are better than the ones made in recent years. I wouldn't know anything about that, but I have played and enjoyed LakeFeperd's Sonic fangames (Before/After the Sequel and Chrono Adventure). What I'd like to know is, what other Sonic fangames are worth playing? Now, what I'm looking for mostly are completed fangames (but demos and hacks are fine, too). If you're going to recommend me a fan game, please tell me whether it's completed or not so I can know ahead of time. Thanks in advance. Corey

So im working on an engine called the Classic Sonic Engine and im working on multiplayer(2-4 players max) but the problem is setting the controls because ive added a system that allows the players to choose their characters and they can have seperate and custom controls(usings options from main menu) but when i play it ALL the players have same controls. How can i fix this? Btw im using the Sonic Revival Engine 3.0 and i fixed the bugs in it also.

  11. Update: Votes are over for the name so I'll be referring to this as well as the sequel to Sonic 8-bit Remake, Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for the name. For those who don't know I started a fan game remake of the Master System and Game Gear version of Sonic the hedgehog and I revealed the project at SAGE 2014 Act 1. Now that Sage is over (or at least the forum topic's gone) I'm making a proper topic for the game. Some of these changes are - Chaos emeralds hidden in their original places in classic mode. - Bigger levels in Remix mode as well as being more so inspired by the classic mode layouts. - Race mode implementation - Jungle and Labyrinth Zone Classic mode - Green Hill and Bridge Zone Remixed mode - Refined option screen - Full Game pad support (Game pad currently only works in game play) - More accurate sounds and better music (Big thanks to Mr_Lange for helping me on this one.) Cheats In the demo there are currently around 9 cheats, 8 of them can be activated on the tile screen (where you're character pops out from behind the banner) and 1 can be activated on the disclaimer screen. I hope everyone who played the demo had fun. And now I want to see how clever this community is. There's a total of 8 secrets that can be activated on the title screen and 1 Easter egg that can be activated at the disclaimer screen. I'll give a small hint for each cheat discovered.   17. Remember my other project, Sonic Origins? Well, I canceled that due to another project that my friend Jassbec was doing that had almost the same story. So changed the story and the name to Sonic Genesis. Then my friends coaxed me to change the name to something more original and something that would fit more with the plot (further down). So I chose the name Sonic Sigma, and it just stuck! You'll be able to play the game at United's fangame parade in November. Members- Alex Bradley (Infinity Alex) - Project Co-Leader & Lead designer DaHog - Project Co-Leader & Lead programmer Hobbers - Spriter & Concept Artist Story- It has been 2 years since the events of Sonic 3&K. Little Planet has returned to Mobius once more. Sonic, Tails and Amy, believing Robotnik to be dead after Super Sonic watched the Death Egg Robot Mk III fall from space with him still inside, decide to take a vacation at Never Lake. Y’know, relax, have some downtime. However, Robotnik is not dead at all. Quite the opposite, in fact! After escaping from the Death Egg Robo before it hit the ground, Robotnik flew back to the now low-flying Death Egg to start his next project. This would be the robot Sonic to end all robot Sonics! Metal Sonic’s speed combined with Silver Sonic’s defensive capabilities and Mecha Sonic’s power plus the DNA of Sonic himself! However, due to the Doctor’s crisis, the robot was being built at the center of the Death Egg so it could power it and stop it from falling into the ocean below. Now, Robotnik has acquired a familiar set of stones to power the Death Egg, turning it into the Time Egg, so his latest creation, CYBER SONIC, can be unleashed! Watch out, Sonic!   18. Seeing as a lot of the members here seem to be of the younger generation (Gen Y mostly, it seems) I'm wondering how many here are Mario fans? I'm not. I grew up during the time when you were either a Sega man or a Nintendo man and you would wear your allegiance on your sleeve. School yard arguments, little sledges of "I bet your SNES can't do this," when showing off Sonic 2 to a Nintendo loving mate. Basically, "Sega does what NintenDON'T," is tattooed on my heart. In the intervening years I've softened somewhat. I actually own a 3DS and a DS. If you'd told a 13 year old me that I'd own a Nintendo console one day you'd probably get a barrage of abuse. Although I really do love my Ds-s, and some Nintendo franchises such as Pokemon, Zelda, Donkey Kong and Kid Icarus, I just can NOT bring myself to love Mario. But it's not just a result of him being Sonic's rival back in the day. I've played the games (admittedly the last one I played was New Super Mario Bros on DS) and I just don't enjoy them. I find them tedious and dull. However, younger gamers don't seem to have this issue. They started playing when that great war was over and the new war lord, Sony, had appeared on the screen. Nintendo is now to Sony what Sega used to be to Nintendo. It's very different. So, I'm interested, younger Sonic fans, do you consider yourself a fan of Mario as well? Does the old battles between the two even enter your mind? Is it something that even occurs to you, is it even on your radar or is it simply something old men, rocking on their porches loving holding the worn shell of their Mega Drives, mumble about to anyone who will listen?
  19. One thing I've enjoyed in the Sonic community is their ability to make fun of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise itself. There's tons of hilarious videos made by fans everywhere that parody the blue hedgehog's adventures and his friends. I've made this topic to celebrate those videos, so we can laugh and discuss and all that jazz. HOWEVER, WE ARE AVOIDING POST-AND-RUN SCENARIOS HERE, SO HERE'S THE RULES EVERYBODY: You must post a video. To embed videos, hit the SpecialBBCode button (it's two buttons above the Underline button) then select media and paste the video URL into the URL box, then hit OK. You must discuss the person who made the video. Did they make other Sonic/SEGA videos that you know? If so, how are they with making Sonic videos? Do they animate videos, edit clips, etc.? If you don't know the videomaker well, are you interested to see what else they made? YOU MUST COMMENT ON THE VIDEO AND WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF IT. This is MANDATORY.   20. I've noticed that there is no pre-existing thread for the Sonic comics so I decided to do it first~ But first, a few rules... 1. This thread is for discussion on the comics in both of the Sonic titles. There shouldn't be much on other comics unless they pertain to these two (Like MegaMan during the crossover). Also, none of that UK comic stuff around here! (Unless it is relevant) 2. Let's try to be nice to everyone! Honest criticism is always welcome, but insults are not tolerated. 3. Also, please try to keep spoilers hidden for those who don't want to see them. An issue can be considered non-spoilerable about a week from it's release, but hide them until then. 4.Finally, let's have fun with this! I'll personally add in preview pages and useful stuff when I can, but it is up to you to make this enjoyable. Now that that's out of the way, let's get discussing!   21. I don't know what needs to be said about this game that hasn't already been said before. Woah nelly, this game. For those of you who are unaware (and I'm assuming that's like 3 of you at this point XD), Sonic Omochao Edition is a fan hack by Cinossu and QJimbo of Sonic Retro. Basically, OmoChao follows you around the entire game. Whenever he wants to state the obvious, the game pauses itself, accompanied by a little jingle that gets longer every time you touch or hit an object in the game. And the jingle gets longer. AND LONGER. AND LONGER. So how to you put an end to OmoChao's eternal annoyance? You just have to avoid and evade EVERY THING IN THE LEVEL. Here's a video example of the game: I love this hack, for everyone's information. It's such a simple concept, but at the same time, it's INGENIOUS. You now have an incredibly high level of challenge to set for yourself in Sonic 1, not to mention how HILARIOUS the concept is alone. So everyone, thoughts on Sonic Omochao Edition? Did you find it hilarious, or do you loathe the game? And has anyone here gotten a perfect run, because I sure as hell haven't (but I was THIS CLOSE!).
  22. So by this point, I'm pretty sure everyone here has heard of the new Sonic cartoon being made. Questions: What do you guys think of the new cartoon? Do you think it will be a fine cartoon? Do you think a "Pony-esque" satire would work for a Sonic Comedy? Also, if you could, what characters would you like to add in the cartoon besides the 4 mentioned above?

But this...this has some hard evidence. Deefy at SEGABits discovered that SEGA of Europe trademarked the title "Sonic Lost Worlds" within the past couple of days. At the time of this post, you can simply search "Sonic" on the following page and SONIC LOST WORLDS will pop up first result. http://oami.europa.eu/CTMOnline/RequestManager/en_Result_NoReg# Also, the domain soniclostworlds.com has been confirmed to be registered to a SEGA of Europe employee. Same goes for soniclostworld.com. Nice to get some solid info! No clue if this is another mobile game or the next big Sonic game, but I have an inkling we'll know before the end of next week.
