N v1.4/NReality
Since I beat IWBTG back in February, I felt I could tackle another game I had always deemed impossible. N is a pretty simple flash game action/platformer. It just gets really hard the further you go with it. I'm on Episode 26, but several years ago I had beaten everything except level 88-4, Mother-Thwumping Impossible (and the 5 levels beyond it). NReality, a mod to 1.4, is a whole 'nother story...100 whole levels of MT-I difficulty start off that modpack.
I think my writing skills have declined since going back to school. To be truthful, I'm not at all surprised.

Spark kinda reminds me of slime molds, probably cuz he's so shiny and bright. Spark the Slime Mold has a nice ring to it, dontcha think?
Where's the Steam Greenlight?

Idea to fix crush physics: find speed at which player ascends to top of tile. Set up a decision: if yspeed == x && direction == y && xspeed == 0, then set hurt ==0. Repeat for z number of ticks to account for normal things that lock xspeed and yspeed going up, and I have no idea how to use MMF2.

P-Three-Dree-O. I thnk that sounds a lot better, but now I'm going to start calling C-3PO Cedro.

I haven't been playing much, and I honestly feel like this topic is great for mini-reviews, so I'm posting on it.
I've been on a sonic hack spree. I think I downloaded like 40 of them over the past few days....
Sonic 1 Twisted
A mini-hack by MarkeyJester...the terrain twists as you walk on it. Boring, 1/5 stars.
The Ring Ride 2
Another mini-hack by MJ...rings make you high, and special stages are all sorts of hard. Pretty fun and psychadelic 3/5
Sonic Random Hax (LZ DEMO)
I think this one's by Electroball. It's a really hard Labyrinth zone with custom music and tiles. A nice challenge, would play again 4/5
Sonic 2 Recreation Part One
A Sonic 2 Hack by redhotsonic. I remember wanting to play more of this at SHC2013 and just now got around to it. Well worth my time. Love the custom music, levels, everything. Right now is my favorite sonic hack EVAR. YES MEGAMIX YOU'VE BEEN BESTED. 7/5
When I get time...i.e. When I'm not falling behind in School, Metal Gear Solid: Tactical Espionage Action/Operation HD Collection (X360) and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance starring Gerem and Raydun Sanic(X720) will get played until my Xbox gets black rings. Nanomachines, son.

Now to answer such a difficult question as this topic presents, I have to really think about the games that made me feel alive. So, naturally I probably have to throw out ALL the Sonic games, yes even Lake's games that I love to pieces and at one point considered better than the classic series....and I think I'll throw out games like N, Halo PC/CE, and minecraft, even though they made huge impacts on my life, rl and ol...and of course I can't include the 3 games I've tested/va'd/level designed because well that's just not fair.
I think of the games that really challenged my will to press on and stick it to the bad guy. I think of the ones that are so worth replaying again and again, and the ones that have a killer soundtrack and maybe some fun glitches on the side. There are games, and there are experiences. (Also just bought like 6 MGS games so I might need to edit this in a month.)
5. I Wanna Be The Guy (Wall of text incoming)
Why this game? It's hard. It is so hard. Nothing really beats the sense of satisfaction when I can boast to my real life gamer friends and they say "Wait, you beat that game?!" This game took a full three tries over two years or so to complete (just on Hard. I'm not that crazy, but one of those attempts was on Very Hard). Countless...countless! hours trying to crack the pattern to Mother Brain, trying to beat Kraidgief without cheeseballing him, and that blasted dragon! But none of this strife through the spike corridor, the chaser spike wall, the luck that is the Dracula fight, the spiked-wall-man room and all the other platform hell could compare to the final area. Actually the final area wasn't too bad, but the final boss took a solid 7 hours...pretty much straight...of attempts. I think I might have scared the neighbors with my victory yell when I saw that %&$#*&$ bite the dust, on a glitch win, no less. In other news, the music's catchy, got me interested in some older games like Castlevania, and the replay value is pretty rad. One day, Very Hard mode will fall. The game is hard, but fair. It's trial and error for the most part, sure, but it can be mastered with muscle memory and intuition.
I'll add the other four later. It's noon, and I have like 6 weeks worth of school to catch up on.

i have all of 2 archie comics...really didn't see this one coming.

Looks like this topic needs some activity. Alas my contacts are drying out and my glasses are totaled, so I'll play this in the morning. I'm pretty skilled when it comes to finding secrets and bugs, and I love me some sonic 8bit games.
-
First time I played it I wasn't impressed, but that's because I was trying to record it and recording stuff seems to put me in a bad mood.
So I came back to it and beat it in one sitting. Take that. It honestly wasn't that hard, but I just spent the entire weekend playing sonic 2,3, and knuckles over and over again.
Very impressive! had some interesting graphical snafus but I think that's just my computer being old.

Proto Dan, is that for Flappy Jam? (idk maybe that's already over but a crap-ton of people are making flappy bird fangames)
-
Well I have been hanging around people that smoke normally and another guy who's constantly on the same stuff Silver bases his hairstyle on, maybe it rubbed off on me.
-
So I was playin' this game, right?
just goofin around so I could hear It has to be this way again....and I beat Senator Robotnik w/ Tails / Debug Mode...and by the time Mecha Dracula came on screen I'm like o crap I should change back to sonic, so I activate debug mode for that boss, and I press T to change to Jet Set Sonic, and the final boss exploded.
True Story.

I've decided that I must be the main character. I haven't cut my hair in about 8 months and it's starting to get really curly. That, and the fact that I've been a videogame character before. What can I say I have experience...
Looks like original content.

Wait, why not just make this ... a poll? That would get more front page action too.

aw darn I only got to wallzip once and it's already been patched :/
EDIT: well I wallzipped A LOT, but only managed to accomplish horizontal underflow once.
EDIT2: There are other ways to get stuck in walls, and I intend to find them!
Any plans of a hyperdrive 2?
Actually, with all your Metal Sonic/Kirby in Sonic 1/2 you could make a super hack! Sonic 1 and 2 w/ hyperdrive characters and controls, yeah.
I like that the OC isn't a sonic-character but more bleach-ish. It's a nice design and he plays well. Good for EXTREME runs.

What have I become? Speculating on a fangame? I'm putting an end to this.

Sonic 1: 14pts [-1] I only vote this one down because so many people use this game's music in IWBTG Fangames, and I get tired of it.Sonic 2: 13ptsSonic 3: 11ptsSonic & Knuckles: 14pts [+1] Sometimes on its own it can be a nice game. I also like the stance Archie Comics takes on it during the Megaman crossover, that Tails was seriously injured in Launch Base Zone...so Sonic is fighting for more than just the world.Sonic Adventure: 10ptsSonic Adventure 2: 23ptsSonic Unleashed: 31ptsSonic Colors: 20ptsSonic Generations: 18ptsOh btw to erase color/font/style I've been using Paste as Plain Text.

This started out fun but has since turned into a few users voting the crap out of their favorite games. I believe it was supposed to represent the community as a whole, and the few people who are voting don't do this very well, except Strong Gust for obvious reasons.

I saw Raiden Sonic on a music-only video of "It Has to be This Way." That guy also called the boss Mecha Dracula (with a weird accent over one of the letters in dracula). Noticed the similarity to the title cards... Ala Card Sonic. Alucard Sonic? eh>? eh?
Alucard, Dracula, mayyybe they're both the saaaaame. The world has turned, So many have burned, but nobody is to blaaaaame.....
RYEDUN SANIC IT IS

Do you expect a new main series Sonic title in 2019?

Sega's a hard read. I remember Lost World felt like it came out of nowhere. It would be really sweet to see Mania 2 and Generations 2, but a movie tie-in ::shudder:: could happen too.
Sonic and the Spanish Inquisition would be unexpected.
