  3. Ok I'm almost done with the alpha stage of my project and I just have the little matter of making the Ai go up and down slopes. I tried to use the same code i used for the object player and make it so when they go to a slope, they go either up it or down it but it doesnt work any ideas?
  4. Ok, so I have pretty much everything done, enginewise, except for making the Ai move and choose which paths to go through, when to use the item or assist character it has and stuff. the closest I got was when I was experimenting with the path function. That didnt work. Anyone have any ideas?

  7. I almost completely have slopes down(they can go up fine, but going down is jolty) I don't plan on putting complete 360 degree movement. DimensionWarped, please elaborate on "sonic-esque movement.

  10. Ok. 1. Because it is. 2. This isn't your everyday sonic fan game. I wanted it to be a little different so sonic doesn't jump in a ball. 3. This is just a test stage, It didn't take much thinking to do honestly. I just threw some rings together to see if the ring counter worked. 4. Like I said before, It's something different, so sonic spinrolls. 5. Its an early alpha to just give you guys an idea of what I've been doing all this time. It will be fixed. (Dragon) I didn't implement any music or sounds at all, all you would probably be hearing is PC static. (Spike) I forgot to take it out. I wasn't planing to have it in the finished game or even the demo. It was just there for when sonic fell out of the stage boundaries and I didn't feel like restarting Game maker. I was planing to exchange it for a speed-up type of move. 6. I just wanted to see if I got the engine right. 7. This is in alpha engine test. I'm far from releasing a demo.   12. Where the *** did you get those? Ive been loking for those for the longest. I never knew how to rip sprites from ds games. Oh yeah, I like your game pick:ssmile:
  13. For the next week or so, Im going to try and implement some kind of slope/360 engine and hopefully if that works, the game will look nicer and I could use it in future games. Please don't expect a demo anytime soon.
  14. THIS is the game Ive been working on for a couple of weeks now. SONIC JETSTREAM!!!(logo coming soon) 10 playable characters 3 unlockables, unique gameplay style. The only thing this game is missing is...the slopes and 360(still working on it) This is a racing/adventure game that is sort of like a regular sonic platformers but redefined with a racing essence. characters you should expect in the demo: sonic(duh) and knuckles(dont wanna give you too much richness, then you wont be yearning for more) I would like to enter this in SAGE but I'm not sure if Ill be able to finish the demo with most kinks worked out by the time, I also was thinking of putting more characters in for the demo. so without further delay... its an engine run so you shouldn't have expected much:scool: Yeah each character will have an assist character: sonic~tails, knuckles~espio(oops *hint,hint*) and 3 special moves. The special moves are obtainable by collecting a certain amount of rings and the assist characters will be on each re-spawn post.
  15. The new one looks better in my opinion. it looks more..."organized" and "put-together".
  16. Maybe if you try to slow down the horizontal speed of the character and animate the sprite so that each time he takes a step, it looks like his back is hunched and his head bobs a little(thats how real life solders do it).
  17. I really like your project, the only problem I have with it is that it seems like your character is too stiff. Can you try giving him more animations? Just a suggestion, following is not necessary.

  19. Seeing as 360 movement is too complicated for me at this point in time, I guess I have to just stick to simple slopes. does anyone have a tutorial with just slopes?(I apologize to all who are annoyed)

Sorry for the double post but I didnt want to waist space and make a whole nother topic. does someone have an example of a character select system, like when you choose a character in one room then in the next room, the mask will take the characters actions that you chose. EX: room 1: select sonic-next room: the mask becomes sonic but has the ability to become anyone you chose. sorry if its alittle confusing, I basically want 1 mask as the player
