  1. Wow, these look gorgeous. The designs are amazingly detailed, even though the Wii can only output it as 480p. Colors is still my fav modern Sonic game. Yeah yeah, Generations is cool too, but I prefer Colors. Can't wait for Planet Wisp!
  2. inb4 AHM REALLY FEELIN' IT No, I'm not feeling it because I played Xenoblade with the JP voice track. Ha!
  3. Well, we're getting somewhere. The debugger by default doesn't show details about objects such as actives or extensions, only global data and frames. If you add objects via 'Add to debugger' you can check their values and other details, so what's probably happening is that some object is being added to the debugger and it updates itself so much that the debugger window can't keep up. Try opening the debugger again and check any object folder added in there aside from 'Global Values' and 'Global Strings'. Delete any 'Add to debugger' actions for said objects, then see if the problem is gone.
  4. Maybe it's because of Aero style compositing effects? See if notifications still slow it down when compositing is turned off.
  5. I don't think there's any ground to stand on for defence. In 06's case I can at least say the soundtrack is nice.
  6. Check your system usage (mainly CPU usage) when it works badly, and do it again if it happens to work well. Perhaps some background process is slowing everything down... Could be related to Windows updating.
  7. Weird. Let's approach this from another angle, then. Did you install new stuff to your CF2 setup, or did you update Windows or something? Also, Win7 or Win8?
  8. Sounds like something to report to Clickteam. Try opening the application preferences and setting the display mode to the standard one. Maybe a recent update broke things.
  9. You can still get it. You won't get your name on the benefactors list, though. http://readonlymemory.vg
  10. This, it's really sad... My Sega Collected Works book came in yesterday at last (gonna make a thread later!) and right at the start it says something along the lines of 'The words in this book represent the voices of Sega in the 80s and 90s, and they do not necessarily reflect the Sega of today'. That's right on the spot, today's Sega is a complete train wreck. Oh, and the book is absolutely gorgeous, you guys should get a copy too!
  11. I. LOVE. IT. The 'kiss my jugs' girl doesn't appear to have any jugs, though...
  12. I still had more fun with Colors. Gens was good too, but I hated the challenge stage padding. At least Colors had 6 acts per zone, not just one modern act and one classic act. Not that I care much about story in a Sonic game, but Colors had some good writing, and the concept was interesting enough to drive the story forward (Eggman wants to put the past in the past and make a nice interstellar park... with some surprises down the way). I liked snarky Tails and Eggman's quips in the levels. I found it more interesting than 'This weird Chrono Cross final boss ripoff screwed up the timeline, go back to previous levels of your series to fix it or something.' Back to Boom... I can't say much at this point. Even the music is lackluster... at least 06 had a decent soundtrack. If I'm going to get a Sonic game for the Wii U when I get one, it'll probably be Lost World. At least the update patch kinda helps.
  13. This game is so hilariously broken, I'm still laughing hard because of all the shit I've seen. Knuckles pausing infinite jump glitch takes the cake. I just want a Colors 2... Why can't they just do that instead?
  14. Well, Retro is a wholly different level, they have that 'trial membership' stuff and all that. It's no wonder you didn't get any attention there. I wouldn't say they hate new projects, they just expect a certain level of complexity to them. They specialize more in ROM hacks, anyway. You have to recognize that recruitment threads are quite frequent nowadays with all the tools and engines available to use. In order to stand out from the rest, something unique is needed. You say you plan on doing a S3&K follow up game, but that doesn't say much. Expand yourself a bit more. I don't want to come as antagonistic, but here it may end up as the same thing as in Retro. At the very least, I think showing a bit of your engine could help drive some people around. Just grab some wireframe test level graphics and make something with it. Another tip: Show some of the ideas you plan on having in your project - gimmicks you thought of, or game mechanics. Even a rough sketch of a spiked mass running fast would do - an image is worth a thousand words.
  15. Make sure you didn't mix them up. The /Extensions copy of the mfx should be of larger filesize, whereas the one in /Runtime/Extensions is smaller. Also, make sure that these two match in version (as in, they're from the same downloaded package).
  16. Actually, you can just leave the state in blank, and it works. Since this asks stuff about internet services, I think it should cover everywhere. (in case the US residence is a requirement, sorry! - I still submitted it.)
  17. That's always a good idea. I normally use four stacks of slim DVD case pairs in order to raise the laptop. It's practical, and also raises it to a more comfortable typing/viewing level.
  18. There's nothing I can do about it on my side, since it's completely gone. Before the server move and reconfiguration backups were made, so I guess that'd be the best bet. That's out of my control, however.
  19. Oh, that's interesting. Since I have to use the international CT store, I guess I don't get the option. Choosing US/Canada only throws me an error due to location.
  20. As DW puts it, the resolution should be a priority. Many laptops today are 1366x768, which is a resolution I personally dislike. 1280x800 should be a bare minimum, so look for stuff above that.
  21. Right. I see you guys are finding the true sources, but regardless of that, the sounds are still present in the songs shown. Most people just want to know the song where that particular sound comes from (and perhaps listen to it as well), not check which is the exact sampler disc that it was pulled out from. I see how it makes sense, though. Many songs that WhoSampled shows have extra noise or sounds in the parts that song X supposedly pulls from, and the instances in said song X are clean. I found that odd, sound editing couldn't clean it THAT well. I can see this being really handy for those who compose music. Getting samples properly without breaking copyrights is important, after all. I think sites such as WhoSampled should list the actual source (as in the sampler disc) and also the songs where the samples can be found (just like it is right now). That would ensure accuracy. I suppose it's an user driven site, so correcting information should be easy.
  22. We already have two threads about Sega/Sonic music samplings over here and here. Since this seems to be an actual project, I'll leave it unmerged. Interesting to see people trying to hunt down every sample from Sonic Rush. That's a huge undertaking. Also, just to make sure nothing has been overlooked, here's a big list of samples in Sonic: http://www.whosampled.com/song-tag/Sonic%20the%20Hedgehog/samples
  23. I doubt the likes can be ported. And since they're different systems it wouldn't make sense to port them anyway. So yeah, everyone starts fresh.
  24. I am pushing for a chatbox/shoutbox - we'll see. And yeah, admin just added the rep system. Let's see how this one goes. As for the down button, maybe you need to have >0 rep before you can use it or something.
  25. Holy crackers, it's Amesuki - rising from the ashes! Welcome back, dude. It's been a long time, indeed.
