  1. Oh, this tutorial looks GOOD. I'll have to be sure to check it out more thoroughly later.
  2. Ah, thanks for that. I do have a few old Static Tutorials from back in the day (As I said, I've been doing this kind of thing for years). But the problem was loading them into MMF2, so I was doing this blind, as I've never built a static engine from scratch before. (I'll normally use the standard platform movement, or "borrow" someone elses engine. ). So yeah, I'll check all that stuff out.
  3. Thanks again... Hopefully this will be the last time I ask for help on something. It really is astounding how much "skill" I've lost in the few years I've been away from making games.
  4. I managed to find a problem with this... it's made me unable to do a running attack, as when he jerks up, it goes to play the falling animation (which is over run by the running animation) and cancels out the attack animation.
  5. No it's not on purpose... yet. I'll have to fix what it's doing now, coz it's clearly a bug, but I will be implementing a double jump system eventually.
  6. It seems to work beautifully, thanks heaps. The only thing I noticed is that while running, the landing sound plays, which implies he's still jerking up. But seeing as you can barely notice it, it's no problem as the landing sound when walking sounds kinda like his feet hitting the ground, so I suppose it really isn't a problem at all. EDIT: And I forgot to thank you for the jumping. I didn't really class it a problem, I just took it as a "It's good enough" kind of thing. But now it's just the way it should be. So thanks heaps.
  7. Thanks for that, I'm downloading it now. It may seem like a stupid problem, but I would have never thought of it... as sad as that is. I'm not soo much a noob with MMF, I've been using Clickteam products since I was 12 (I'm 19 now), back in the old Klik & Play. But I've never built my own engine from scratch before, I'll either use the standard platform engine, or use a modified version of someone elses. And I had no idea how much I had to learn. But the fact that it's been about 2-3 years since I've used any of these programs makes me more than a bit rusty.
  8. Thanks a bunch for that. You really didn't need to, though, I never use my freewebs site.
  9. Here it is: http://www.freewebs.com/cixwow/Test.mfa EDIT: Use this one instead. Thanks Gamerdude.
  10. Okay, I'm uploading it now. I don't know any good upload sites, so I'm using my webite (seeing as it has nothing worthwile on it).
  11. Okay, I'll do that. I'll have to upload it later, though, coz I'm going out.
  12. Now I'm getting a problem with Shadow "bouncing" on the ground. I believe it's because, the gravity is set by "If Jump animation is not playing, is not overlapping Group.0, every 00"-04 then add 1 to Y counter." as I cannot negate collisions. This conflicts with what I used to fix the original problem.
  13. That is so obvious! How could I have not thought of that before? Thanks!
