  1. It was a compliment, no worries. I trust your talent and I'm liking the ideas for the project very much. One thing I must add that I'd really enjoyed is the fact that the main characters are from other places in the Pokemon World. I mean, we always knew that they existed and there were always references, but not directly. I think this adds a new depht to table, which is pretty cool imo. I liked the ideia of NPCs catching any pokemon's they find (I just hope that they don't end up catching an Suicune going by, haha that would be pretty sad, actually. I would also even try to make them train their pokemons, so let's supose you were able to run without facing a certain enemy at the first route after you head off your city. Then, when you're going back there, midway in the game, the same trainer would have an pokemon well trained. Almost as good as yours. For some reason I ended up imagining a Skyrim type of AI, where every character has a personal life. They go to dinner or to pubs, go to sleep, go work, etcetera... But I guess that I'm thinking too far in here, hah.
  2. I still think you can do better, TailsSena. But it's up to you now.
  3. The girl seems like one of those small children that plays with her mom's clothes. Is not that she does look bad, but she doesn't look natural. Think about Pokemon and the main characters in each game, how did they dressed like. Besides the obvious Pokemon stuff (girls can't be sexy, after all they're suposed to be ten~fifteen and they both has to wear clothes that goes well with the pokemon world), they're still boys and girls, so they can't really be too fancy (Like they can't be using a tuxedo or a party dress), but shouldn't be to childish either. The boy looks okay, but you should consider revising his design also, he doesn't have much personality in him. He just looks like an mix of Ash and Nate (Pkmn Black & White male character). Besides some anatomy mistakes here and there, it doesn't look bad either so... Good work. Ps:. Go easy on the pokeball's logo. They're like... everywhere.
  4. Dude, don't make screenshot videos. That's like... One of the most retarded things there is. Specially you guys! Which has something so unique which is your gameplay. Simply post the screenshots in the thread, make your comments about it and be gone. (btw really liked Sonic's screenshot. Looked nice... besides that waterfall that seems to be coming from heaven).
  5. Try posting more about your game, this thread it's looking very unapealling. Describe your game, put some screenshots up, what do you want to do with it, what's the goal of the project, even if there ain't a story yet you can say a thing or two about your game, right? How do you want the gameplay to be? Where it will be located? Shadow will use vehicles/guns? There will be aliens? There will be humans? etc... Also, about the video, I don't have much of a opinion, all I've seen is the Sonic Blitz Generations test map with Shadow instead of Sonic and some effects here and there and a very glitchy homming attack and oh yeah, lots and lots of promises in the description about the next video.
  6. You do have something cool in your hands, besides the classic "let's recolor Sonic, put Tails' hair in it and dress him with some clothes" fancharacter design that we'd all seen a million times already, it's looking pretty cool. The engine is solid and works like a charm, but some key configurations must be done in order to make it better like the sliding (which btw I find completly useless when you can spin attack) where you have to use the right ctrl, it took me ages to find out... So I would probably take a look in that, see if it's really necessary. The level design is the worst part of the whole package, I mean, it's bad, really bad. I'm not expecting something crazy beautiful like Sonic CD's, mostly because it's an "Modern Sonic" style of gameplay, but you really needs to put some better work into it. Altought I shall excuse you since this isn't final, I believe, just a testing area or so. Other than that, great work, keep going! (oh yeah, you may want to try to optmize it a lil' bit, I've played it in a good PC and got some framerate issues, specially with the music that ran all slow and shit)
  7. 'Sup guys. Some modifications as well as the diffuse texture done:
  8. Hey bro, your call. It will look a bit shitty under sunny backgrounds, but you do as you please. I'm telling you to tone down because I've been there with STH in his past builds, we decided to tone it down to around 2 or 3 shades per color so it would look good at any background whatsoever.
  9. Maybe if you tone down the shadows or the highlights (can't have both), then yes, totally. But right now looks like you've throw a bad photoshop filter over a rendered image or told Flash/Illustrator to "vetorialize" it (forgot the command name).
  10. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww... Tekkit. Just ruined the experience for me, good luck on the server. I'm out. I'm a Vanilla kind of guy, sorry... Minecraft Mods are lame. If you really want to include something useful, include some protection plugins like Lockette or so.
  11. Oh lawl. I love how not a single english name looks good when translated to PT-BR.
  12. Minecraft + Sonic Forum Ohhh shit, son, watch out for all of those Sonic pixel-arts. That was probably my biggest issue with Smidge' server in the past. But if you guys would like to take it serious and separating Sonic from Minecraft and doing stuff like developing cities, factions, etctera... I would totally be up to.
  13. Overbound, try adding some shadow to these planets and an atmosphere, generally this will help you to sell that they're planets. Needless to say, having some better textures would help even more. Just quickly did it in Photoshop, you can probably spend more time in it and make it looks better. Oh, yeah, the blue page kind of blew out the atmosphere field, open the image in a new window and you'll see what I'm taking about)
  14. Amazing as always, Strife... Buuuut... I didn't liked the building in the right either. Not just it looks ugly, but it also ruins the flow that you had with the background. It is almost like it doesn't belong to the scene, looks like a NYC building in the middle of medieval japan. Also the orange colors in the background are giving the idea that the location is on fire or something. I would make it more purple/blu-ish like so: (Also I removed the ugly building <3) I dunno, this way it kinda gives that night atmosphere to it and don't draw much of the attention of the player (feel free to change the pallete, made it in like, 5 mins or so, I'm sure you can do better)
  15. It does look better, Delta. Altough those "lava waterfalls", on the background looks weird in my opinion. I mean, the lava shouln't flow directly down, especially because of the mountain landscape which tends to be irregular most of the times. Also, Lava usually cast light, so... At the bottom, i.e, where the mountain meets the lava pool, should have an orange-ish gradient on the mountains. The final result would be something like this: The lava thing would also add some variation (presuming you would do more than one mountain) to the background, which right now, looks pretty boring and copy-pasted. But whatever, that's me being nitpicky as always. @Strife: The left one still looks like a bug, which isn't an evil look, just scary like most of the insects are when you see their faces at close. But the right one, he sure as hell looks pissed of, and I'm not saying that because of the piss-colored eyes.
  16. Ness still looks like a lady but it's still way better than previously was. Artix looks absolutelly the same as the character which he was edited from, just with a pallete switch. Except now the sprite version (small one) looks tottally like a woman with that pink hair. Oh well... Let's see what Sonic Advance: Tranny has to offer at SAGE. :3
  17. 3rd one looks badass looking a bit downwards. Kinda gives that anti-hero feeling to the sprite itself. But... It would need a few modifications in order to look right (including the pallete, in which looks terrible, btw). If modifications are not possible, 1st one then.
  18. WOW... That looks terrible. Not just his proportions but the shading as well. It goes to rough. Take a look at the Sonic from the 32x that you had earlier on, look how smooth the shading goes and how it gives Sonic a dimension, almost like he is rounded (which is, btw... Sonic is just a bunch of balls and a few curved cones). But the shading you made, creates the impression that he is flat. The shading goes from dark to bright too fast, and the pallet isn't one of the best either. I don't get it neither... Why are you spriting SuperBliz's drawing when VitAnderson gave you one way way way better (no offense, SuperBliz) in which not just the proportions are almost correct (Sonic's thumb, Tails' forehead and ears... Small things that are wrong) the scale is pretty much set for you (just have to go and draw on top of it). Also it looks original and badass?
  19. A tip? Just one: HWA There is a filter that has the same purpose as the Lens extention, but doesn't have glitches like that one. You can see how I used that filter on an early beta of my fangame STH, ( , on the explosions and boost)The way I would do it, probably would be by making an dark grey to black (since the filter works just like a height map would, it "bumps" everything that is white and don't mess with what is black) ocean in After Effects using the Clouds filter and would animate it, trying to loop it in the end. Around 10~20 frames to get a smoother effect. The bad thing though, is that you wouldn't be able to apply perspective so easily or cheaper, it would cost kind a lot since you'd have to apply alphas to get a smooth blending between the objects, for example. The good thing is that, there is an extention that do it, which I forgot the name right now (I guess it was called paralaxer, or something) that Sonic 2006:2D used on some bosses and stages and I used on the menu screen right here: .So in this way there would be the ocean/river/whatever using this extention (to give it a more natural feel) and the filtered greyscaled ocean object, using the same extention on top of it. Kind of hard to explain and to do, but oh well, you asked how. Btw, about the screens... It looks nice but I would change the palmtree pallete, it blends too much with the ground texture (I assume is the same pallete) and the leaves are blending in with the background forest. Either that or change the color of the forest to a more darker one... Which would be even better I supose, due the fact that it would make the foreground pop out and wouldn't draw much of the player's attention.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/user/LtheHedgehog You know you could've just look up for any video on this thread and you'll had the link, right? :V
  21. The idea behind the pose was to capture that jokey feeling that Sonic 'n Tails had in Sonic OVA. It's actually Tails screwing up with Robotnik, mimicking him and Sonic laughing his ass off. Curly moustaches ftw :3 If you lurk down the thread you'll see that it ain't no secret that Monkey Island has been one of the biggest inspirations for this project for... I guess an year or two already. :3I was really afraid about the new designs, mostly because people tend to dislike these kind of changes, but it seems that everything went better then expected.
  22. News Hello, hello, everyone. As you've probably noticed, I decided to lay low for awhile. But the project isn't dead. Infact is way more alive than ever. If you follow my Youtube page, you've probably noticed a few videos related to Sonic GDK and if you're smart you'd seen that, even if most of the stuff were random test videos, I wouldn't be putting so much effort into something that I didn't intended to use, of course. So it's with a great honor that I announce that Sonic the Hedgehog will be ported to the Sonic GDK's engine. With new models, new graphics and a way new better look to it. With a great team of 3D modelers and artists we couldn't be more excited with this. It came at the right time, MMF2 wasn't really dealing great with all we'd planned for the game (Just that small test video that I've posted a few months back could barely play on a mid-end PC... i.e. you would need a PC that could run this generation's games to play a 2D fangame in a limited plataform which MMF2 was for all we'd planned). So I see you guys in 3D now. More pretty, more awesome, more 'free'. But I guess that would be unfair to tease you guys and don't give at least nothing to taste, right? Unfortunelly I can't really post screenshots since there isn't nothing presentable, but if you're so desperated for that you can check my test videos on my Youtube page. Instead of that, I'll give you guys a little taste of all the reimaginative stuff that we're planning for this game, introducing new designs to our dearest characters... So here it comes the first official artwork of the game: That's it for today, folks. Hope you enjoy, and keep in mind that the game isn't dead at all. :3
  23. >He >He >He >He >He >He You're not talking about that lady you sprited, right? I mean, she either is a tranny or totally not a man. I mean, look at it, she has boobs. The outfit screams "woman" and the face don't help either, even her hair is femine as hell (it's pink). I would say that this lady is as much of a man as Wolverine (X-Men) is as much of a woman.
  24. Not trying to dodge a bullet over here since I do realize that I used Blaze's assets without permission, but I wasn't the one to rip 'em. Found the rips on some shitty place across the internet and actually thought Blaze's released 'em or they weren't really Blaze's property (like he ripped from somewhere else or used a public asset)... I mean, try to understand the head of a 13yo boy. So I edited it and put it onto SDLA.Also don't try to act as the moral dude, consider yourself into the "people" who thought it was acceptable (and actually ripped a lot). Take the bullet too. I understand Blaze's position, I mean, SDLA had a lot of assets taken without permission as well, like the other crates, the rocks, some effects, etcetera, I don't even care nowadays, but when I saw it back in 2008 I was kind of upset. But whatever. :3
