  1. On a slightly related note, dusty hard drive has given birth to more stuff I think is at least marginally related to here: -A collection of fangame demos released (I'm presuming by the title of the folder) on february the 7th sometime between 2006-8 on SCD. -Something called "Damizean-EngineTest" (I'm assuming from 08) which I think has something to do with the first post in the stickied "some general rules" thread. If anyone is interested in the former, and / or knows anything about the latter that might be relevant as to whether or not it deserves posting, post I guess and I'll act accordingly.

So, em... a little backstory: Ages ago I tried getting into fangaming and the fangaming community a little early, (elementary school early), and acted like a total idiot on these here forums intermittently for quite some time. If there's anyone here who used to be here back them, I am sorry, I know I didn't get as bad as blazefire was at the start (fireblaze? blazesonic? jetgod? can't quite remember - BTW sorry for singling you out if you're on here again...), but I was quite a little shit for quite some time. Anyways back when I was trying to fit in here (and on SCD) me and some other dude (Mygames[some number I can't remember]/Classicteam) tried doing a fangaming newsletter thing (I think it was "The Fan Gamer's Newsletter"?), never really got off the ground, I think we did an Issue and a half, not that good honestly. BUT, back in 2007 as part of TFGN I wanted to do a booklet about SAGE, since I was out of the country for most of it, I just archived the hell out of what I could find, hoping to cover it later. I got lazy and forgot about it... but flash forward six years into the future - turns out I still have the bugger. So if for some reason you are intrested in fangaming ala 2007 - Here it is: https://app.box.com/s/b69rxuhctscqwoclkqn1 A couple of important notes: -I have scanned this thing for viruses a couple of times now, and I don't think there are any, but I'd scan locally once downloading the files just to be sure. I remember there being an infected booth back in 07, and I don't know if anything else got compromised -I used to have links to the relevant booths, but a couple years back I figured out one of them pointed to hentai (don't remember which), and most of the rest were dead, got rid of the lot now, didn't much feel like checking... -Remember these are fangames from 2007, Game Maker (I haven't touched it in years, so I don't know about now) used to be notoriously incompatible between operating systems, so allot of stuff is gonna need some juryrigging to work, if you figure a game out and feel like posting here I guess that would help others. -I didn't keep any contact info for the relevant booths (bad journalism I know), so if you see anything here you don't want posted, I'll take it down in a heartbeat.   6. OK I know that I haven't posted here in a while, and that this thread is bordering on old, but once I saw this topic I couldn't resist posting. I have a collection on my computer of almost everything from Sage (Either '08 or '07, the dates are a bit inconsistent,) sans the actual websites, If anybody's interested, I don't think it would be a problem getting it up onto rapidshare or something... and I'm pretty sure some of what I have isn't listed above.

  8. Looks good, for a moment when I saw the project name I thought you were referring to something that Kursiu (Chris Senn) was working on... Looks nice, the camera in the video was extraordinarily clunky, and it seems sonic is displayed a bit large onscreen. Also like the above posts, I suggest using 3d-models for characters, It would allow you to incorporate a 3d camera more easily, since the only logic in the X-treme display system was the fish eye, something I don't believe GM can re-create.
  9. Looks good, The game was amazingly addictive, my only issue that when hit the exit you get transported to the center... Its a bit unnatural and distracting to the eye, other then that the new graphics look great, and appealing, I like the styling they've taken on.

  11. I was rolling on the floor when going way to fast (reach top speeds and see what I mean), Looks great, Feels just right, Though spin dashing on the circular area, got me at top speeds, and a funny messege,

Woo, just played the demo, It was fun, (but then again I Thought ShTH was fun) but here are a few notes: Pros: nice music, I loved the bad nicks flying off, the spacial stage was nice, the basic sonic movement was done very well, I see you added the 360 attack (Yay!) Cons: there were no points were using spin dash was actually of any help, Try making points like in GHZ, where the loops aren't encountered at great speed, this should encourage the player to use spin dash. Sonics sprite was barred to deep into the ground (try moving him up a bit), The "Speed up" points were a bit UN-noticeable and would shot me in the direction I was going, so If i go from Right to left, I get shot toward right to left..., Try using a bigger sprite, and program a one way usage... sonic was just to slow in the spacial stage I wasn't able to avoid even one of the shots try making him faster, or make the shots lose some homing capability, also make getting a blue sphere more noticeable, maybe add a piping animation. Just make sonic lose rings when a bomb hits you, It gets really annoying when I have to go far back because of a bomb, At certain points it really did start to feel like the original Sonic the hedgehogs, but those moments lasted for a short period of time,
