  1. Multiplayer has not been scrapped completely , its just the way we are going about things at the moment , we have spent ages just trying to get things to work in MP that just wont , and for that reason we decided to try and make those things work in Single Player. The Multiplayer side of the mod , has been stopped for now because of that reason , but we are not going to just build Single Player and leave it at that. The plan is to work around and get Single player done , make the tagset for it , and then try to transfere all the things we have picked up on , and made in Single player into the new multiplayer. Multiplayer before , was just myself making maps to test what i could do , while we test what the CE engine can do with other things like vehicles , characters and stuff. What Multiplayer could end up , is basically , Either the Spartans fighting in multiplayer enviroments (but thats not really sonic online) , Making one biped (just Sonic) playable ingame , so you all play as one character , but have the ability to use the vehicles from single player , or another idea could be ... something similar to Shadow the hedgehogs Multiplayer , you can have a character that changes colour (in this case shadows red , could change depending on what character colour you want) , and you can use weapons , vehicles and other things. Things we know we definately cannot do , is make things like Loops sync ingame , when we tryed that it just failed , the player entered the loop , and then when another did , the player was stuck in the loop , playing the animation over and over until the other player exited , and then they too exited. So , to summarize , Multiplayer , the entire experiance is not scrapped , only the ideas have been scrapped. We are currently working on Single Player , and then we will try to transfere what we have learned into Multiplayer.
  2. To answer the question about Halo/Sonic and the ever changing game play... The Halo/Sonic thing is the Multiplayer side of the mod , which was scrapped last year , the Single Player version of the mod does not feature anything from Halo , and thus none of the videos apart from Videocast 2 have shown anything Halo related in Sonic Online. The main game play is Single Player Sonic Experiance using Halos engine to try and emulate most of the effects that a normal Sonic game has , any Halo/Sonic mix , is related to the Multiplayer section of the mod.

  5. looks like most people are against NG , oh well , besides , its not a full on change into copying next gen we are after. We are simply replacing the current stuff with next gen stuff , but the story will stay the same as Sonic 1. (Took me ages to model all those damn models X.X)

After many attempts to sort out the new animations for the biped , the1 still has not fixed it correctly , so we are waitting , some of the animations just need swapping with each other , but this is the other half of the Super Sonic Transformation Vidcast i posted , it shows Super/Hyper Sonic working ingame how it should do , Super / Hyper transformation form is a early alpha atm , so its not really good quality , its just to test some animations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_p_gQl6-KM As for the handeling , it just needs to be tweeked loads , and yes those are the S360 anims , they are copyed frame for frame , exactly how they are.

  11. if you think sonics too light in that "leaked" video its because i filmed that directly off myscreen , the camera does that , it makes the colour look brighter. If its just the picture we`ll darken it

At the moment we have loops working , we are going to beta later so you will have to take my word like always for now , hopefully in doing so , manipulating the script that controls the loop will allow us to do other things such as .... Wall running , Lightdash , grinding and other things , so at the moment we are very very happy =)
  13. Yes it is , i know it really does need alot of work , especially in the modelling section atm because some of the level designs are very well done , its just that i cannot model them myself because i lack the experiance and atm i am the only one doing level geometry ><
  14. Hey all , back again (unfortunate for some people) boy have things been up and down over the past few months. Due to certain events i have had to fire some members of the team , because they where basically in it for betas , which i found quite immature and some of them just sat there and did nothing. So , i have had to re-create the team from scratch , also we started designing the Single Player side more indepth. Unlike Sonic Team , we are actually going back to the "Roots" so to speak. We decided that the original Sonic story was simple and sweet (Story from Sonic 1) so we decided to use that , but different enviroments and also stick a few Next Gen characters in just for fun. As well as other things , mainly making multiplayer maps to keep the fans at bay i have been making some custom models of my own like the Chao garden above (custom made , used Segas as a reference not entirely 100% accurate). We also re-did the biped to make the rig more accurate , also the animations and other things have been re-done. Sonic now has a better hand rig , quill rig , slightly bigger shoes. Currently we are looking for fresh ideas , and more modellers to join the team to help out with the levels and other characters and such , if you can help just PM me.
