what I suggest is to play a sonic game that you want to try and emulate the game play of, take notes while playing it, and then try designing a level so you can at least make the design choices fit with your game play choice.

Tough question, I'm going to have to go with generations because it had a mix of platforming and boosting sections. Also the pc version lets you download and make levels to add to the experience. I have played colours and unleashed on the wii but not on xbox or ps3 so this could be unfair.

I can only do 2d level design and a bit of programming
so very limited but not everyone can do allot.

I am just tired of them having decent ideas, then barely using them.
Adventure games, less action stages than hunting and shooting

...the only sonic game with consistent gameplay design was Shadow the Hedgehog...
that does sound true but sonic boom looks kinda decent and new.

SA2B:shits amazing i don't know where to start, the thing is about this there were many playable characters.
actually i noticed in all of these games, there were ALOT of playable characters
now its just boost boost, bla bla same level, really boring confusing boss 06 gameplay meh.
it has come a bit more constant but sega do try to please fans. Well yea, what they think is a good idea for sonic can be a bad idea but at least sega try so i think it is a good idea to respect that and not be a whiny person if sega dose something that you don't like. to prove my point watch the indie game movie that talks about the stress indie gamers go through every day they make a game.

When I was very young (idk how old) I played a game on the cbbc website which was removed. I think the game was called raven and at the beginning if you put your first name and last name on the text box it would make a name for you (raven was a cbbc TV show that had children go through challenges like Takeshi's castle but with children and not so much pain) . I started to use the name more when the game was removed and somehow I reminded myself of the name and the game. the username I was using before I remembered the name fahyda was davidthepup which was from a game I haven't played in years called club penguin.

i dont work at sega but would like to know what everyone would like the sonic game to be like and which sonic to use.
to be honest i would love to see another adventure/boosting sonic game for modern sonic but i want it to not reuse level ideas from past sonic games. i also want to make my oan sonic fan game but i only want to be the level designer for it.

ive never played sonic 06 and never will because it looks horrible as a stand alone game let alone a sonic franchise game

i think that if sonic was a turtle he might look more like a teenage mutant ninja turtle or a koppa from mario.
he would probably also do a move when mario wears the blue shell which is to become a koppa in a shell and bounce off walls. though this could make sonic games easy if that was true.

dose hitbox require a broadcasting software or dose it come prepared with one?ive looked so nevermind about that(ive never used hitbox so no hate response pls).
if it is prepared ill happily join in with the live stream.
if you have something to send me messages while live streaming e.g. evolve (its for when i'm not on the live stream place only) ill see if i can join in or not at that time.
if i can and the game requires me to have an IP address ill ask if you could come to an evolve party to play it.
if i can ill say yes and ask what game it is and do i need to locate your IP address to play with you.
if i cant make it ill say sorry but i have stuff to do.

i would live stream sonic fan games and official sonic games on my laptop that run decent if one of these conditions are met
1: i can use twitch to live stream with
2: someone else live streams an online game and i join in on the online mode
if never of these are met reply to me on this post and ill reply back to tell you if i can live stream some other way.

the tails in the tornado and the sonic standing sprite look a bit off. how tails in the tornado looks off is the head looks a bit squished and the sonic standing sprite is a bit off because he looks like he is leaning back a bit. other than that there awsome

its good but the only bug i have is its mainly one path like marble zone in sonic 1 but faster. that is a nitpick though because not all sonic games need multiple pathways though most of the classic sonic games have these and i have to agree its short but that only matters if it is a level in the middle or end of the game so its good and i think you would be a great sonic level designer.

7: i think it should only have local and online multiplayer if the game has split screen for local and 2 screens for online
8: keep it like sonic 3
9: only if its like a puzzle that you have to do should tails have a separate path
10: no separate bosses

just thought id say i love sonic 3 and like sonic 2 so you know why i chose mainly sonic 3 options

I have the same problem, and I think I know what the reason is. I think the website shows this because they stooped the sage 2014.
