  6. I decided to give it another whack and I came up with these. I like the one on the left (I think I could improve the shading a bit) but I think the one on the right fits the original tile more.
  7. Well I think it's time I posted something regarding 8-bit remake so people don't think it's dead I made the bridge pieces bigger so it's easier to stand on the falling pieces. (Ignore the piece that's sticking halfway through the wall) and a quick mock up of the new tiles I've been creating. (I would appreciate some feedback with these tiles, and if I should have the player stay behind them or not)

  9. I'd hate to be "That guy" but you should probably consider altering the enemies colour so he stands out against the tree. Other than that he looks good, definitely better than my efforts at graphics.
  10. I couldn't help but notice the background in the second image is a bit of an eye popper in contrast to the foreground, you may want to tone it down a little, other than that it looks great.

  14. I'm not sure what you're asking but I'm going to assume you're confused about the special and bonus stages. Bonus stages are areas where you can get a huge ring bonus (in the next version they're only in Remixed mode and they're much harder to find, in classic they replace the special stages.) While Special stages are where you can get the chaos emeralds, Player 2's removed so you don't get confused and screw up.
  15. Update: Votes are over for the name so I'll be referring to this as well as the sequel to Sonic 8-bit Remake, Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for the name. For those who don't know I started a fan game remake of the Master System and Game Gear version of Sonic the hedgehog and I revealed the project at SAGE 2014 Act 1. Now that Sage is over (or at least the forum topic's gone) I'm making a proper topic for the game. Some of these changes are - Chaos emeralds hidden in their original places in classic mode. - Bigger levels in Remix mode as well as being more so inspired by the classic mode layouts. - Race mode implementation - Jungle and Labyrinth Zone Classic mode - Green Hill and Bridge Zone Remixed mode - Refined option screen - Full Game pad support (Game pad currently only works in game play) - More accurate sounds and better music (Big thanks to Mr_Lange for helping me on this one.) Cheats In the demo there are currently around 9 cheats, 8 of them can be activated on the tile screen (where you're character pops out from behind the banner) and 1 can be activated on the disclaimer screen.   16. Loving what I'm seeing here, it's nice to see you do something outside of Sonic and I look forward to seeing more of this. Also I don't know why but I feel the need to say that the Wall Jump could use more of an oomph as I feel it's a bit weak when I see you jump off the wall.
  17. I feel I should post progress of my game. (Yes I know the flowers are to small I'll try to recreate them on a bigger scale) I haven't got much farther than this at the moment as I'm mainly focusing on the criticism I've gotten for the game (Remix is much more than a slightly different classic mode now.) Also once I create a proper thread for this, do you guys think I should ask for help for things such as graphics and music since the entire team for this is consisted of me alone?
  18. Please note that this method's still a pain since you have to go into every layer when you want to move things. Also having to put in creation code's so annoying if you're doing more than one object. (and this is 8.1 not studio) I have started using MMF2 for the sake of making a simple but unique sonic level but I haven't had enough experience with it to form a solid opinion of it. (I'm having so much trouble navigating as all the menus seem to be hidden in other menus. In this case I actually wish I could just code here. But that's about it as far as complaints.) And I haven't even touched construct.
  19. Anyone having lag with the game or are crashing I've found the problem and I've fixed them. Okay well onto plan B, This doesn't necessarily fix the bug but this does add a level select to the menu so you can just skip to where you were, I'm so sorry I couldn't get the crash fixed. https://www.mediafire.com/?vds9bt7vleq1z1p I'll need someone to volunteer (it must be crashing at the end of act 1) to do some tests for me so I can nail the problem and get the next demo ready.   21. Damn it, I was thinking it was a problem with the sound looping at the result screen. it's weird that shouldn't be causing a crash. Thanks for telling me where the game crashes I'll see if I can fix it now and I'll edit this post once it's ready. (I apologies if it still crashes in advance I use windows 7 and it works fine for me.)   22. Once I have some spare time I'll take a look and see if I can fix this. Is there anyway you can pin point the exact moment the game crashes? (a Gif, Avi file, or even a picture?) EDIT: Okay after looking into it I think I've found the solution to the problem. I'm not to sure about including a Sonic 2 style knuckles as whenever sega put a knuckles mode it's always been the Sonic 3 Knuckles, however I'll put him in as a graphic option to cater to people who would like a S2 style knuckles. As for the springs I didn't have enough time to fix them up in time for SAGE but I will try my best to get them to work correctly by the next demo.

So if anyone has any suggestions, questions, bug reports, or you want to leave feedback make a post here and I will respond as best I can. and since this is my first introduction to the community here, Hello I'm Renhoek I've made many fan projects and I'm a huge Sonic fan, I've spent years trying to create a Sonic fangame and after many attempts I've decided to remake sonic 1 8-bit. I hope everyone who played the demo had fun. And now I want to see how clever this community is. There's a total of 8 secrets that can be activated on the title screen and 1 Easter egg that can be activated at the disclaimer screen. I'll give a small hint for each cheat discovered. As for the first cheat it can be found in the screenshots at the SAGE booth.
